All the drama just makes it more entertaining to watch. I'm so happy i found this channel, it is so refreshingly different. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!!!
A quick tip for you, the 296 uses a Turbo, so you need to charge it with your brakes right before the race starts to get the best possible accelaration. Just go full throttle and manage your speed with your brakes. You can also use this to warm your brakes and tires up a bit so you dont start your race with purple brakes. Great Video as always!
Ahhh nice one, thank you for fully explaining that for me. Last time I raced the Ferrari, a couple of people mentioned ‘brake boosting’ as a way to start better and I wasn’t really sure what they were on about! I’ll give that a try, cheers. Starts are never my strong point in ACC, but this one was even worse with that warning that popped up just as I was ready to go
Yeah, I think my choice of car worked against me there… the Ferrari doesn’t like those bumpy kerbs! Reckon I’d have breezed back on to track if I was still in the BMW from last week! All good learning experience though. Cheers Adam 😃
Onwards and upwards Chris, great recovery until you decided you needed a cup of coffee and left the track unaided, Looking forward to your next outing..👏
Thanks mate, yeah a silly mistake for the crash, but I always look at the positives if my race is ended by a mistake I’ve made myself - it means I know it’s within my power to avoid it happening again (unlike when you get taken out by someone else). Enjoyed this race though, was good fun 😃
Bad luck, Chris! Don't kick yourself for trying at the end. I would have been doing the same thing. I think the Ferrari is really picky over the curbs, where other cars can bound right over them. Looking forward to your next race!
Thanks Eric, yeah the Ferrari is a nightmare for bumps and kerbs. It’s why I chose the BMW at Watkins Glen last week… I didn’t fancy my chances riding the kerbs through the inner loop in the Ferrari! Thought Imola would be safer, but yeah just pushed a little too hard. Nothing to lose by giving it a good go though! Cheers
Haha yes… you can set your watch by it! I knew exactly what was going to happen the entire time I drove down the straight, but I still couldn’t avoid it when I got there 🤦🏻♂️
Ah such a shame the race was bookended by incidents as there was some great action and battling through the middle. Really enjoyed watching this one fella - and congrats on hitting 4k subs!!
Ahh thanks mate. I wasn’t too disappointed by either crash - T1, it was just my luck balancing itself out after scraping through unscathed at Watkins Glen last week. And at the end, just a combo of wrong car, wrong kerb!
Thanks mate, yeah I always really enjoy this combo, even if I rarely get good results here. No matter how many times I do Imola, I still can’t go a full race without messing up thar corner I crashed out on! Fun race though, enjoyed it. Good luck with yours!
hey chris another great vid,i have recently joined lfm on acc and im having all the issues you were having (driving standards, idiot rejoins ,brake blindness) im really trying my best to get back into ro sim racing, but have to admit im feeling the same as you a while back, anyway keep up the great work allways look fwd to your vids allways entertaining, take care matey
Hi Nick, good to hear from you mate. I was wondering if you were still racing. Yeah I know that feeling well, it does get frustrating and overall driving standards seem to be worse now than they’ve ever been - no matter what the sim. Good luck with your return mate, hope you manage to avoid the wreckers!
was 100% this was going to end with a perfect race, was going so well and even better than when i race IMOLA in raceroom which is also running atm. i cant drive a clean race sadly. sorry to see you crash out Chris. Think we are around the same pace tho.
Haha yeah, nobody to blame but myself for that one 🤣 it was a pretty hard punishment for a small mistake. Must have just crossed the kerb at the wrong angle, and the car bottomed out. How are the grid sizes on RaceRoom lately?
@@chrisrogerssimracing Imola is an hour so its around 11-15 usually. but for some reason the player base has grown lately so 15-20min races are around double that. Maybe you should consider getting into BMW325I ace on Suzuka. good race with plenty of racers.
@@firstjayjay that’s decent participation for an hour race. Sounds good. I wiped my PC when I had my few weeks off recently, as it needed a bit of a tidy-up. I haven’t reinstalled RaceRoom yet but I think I will… need a bit of variety other than ACC and rF2. And I did always enjoy that M235 car
@@firstjayjay Well my usual time is around 4.30pm in the afternoon but I know RaceRoom is pretty quiet then. So it would need to be early evening for me on RaceRoom, 7.30pm latest
Tough break at the end of the race with the spin. Lap 1 pile ups always suck, it's hit or miss whether anyone avoids them or are involved, the only real way to increase the changes of surviving any lap 1 incidents is qualifying well. I hope this doesn't come over negative, I've noticed that on some of your dummy moves you're really compromising your entry into and exit out of corners and it's costing you a lot of time. For example @6:23 you lose .6 of a second, there's another .5 loss but I can't find the time stamp and lastly at @10:20 it's a .3 loss. Each of those had next to no chance of making the move, unless they make a mistake which I know that's what the dummy is for, but if you're compromising your entry and exit you'd be unable to capitalise. I'd say it would be more beneficial to remain close, keep the pressure high and with the drivers around you they are very likely to make a mistake from the pressure anyway, rather than the dummy. I like the video though :) I had the luck to be in one of your lobbies a while back (the hungaroring video).
Yeah you’re 100% right about the dummy moves mate, think I even mentioned at one point it cost me time. I used to do it a lot, mainly to help me see my braking points (so I’m not blinded by the car right in front) but as I got more confident, I was able to tuck right in behind a car and still nail the braking point. Think I’m probably a little out of practice, and also a little impatient in this race! I knew I was quicker than them, but was in too much of a hurry to try and find a pass. Definitely something to remember for next race 👍
So unlucky. Sadly, that is the one big issue with the Ferrari. I really don't understand why people can't chill out a bit more on lap 1, or even T1. Had a near identical issue in my first race last night with a car spinning out in front of me at the first chicane, leaving me with nowhere to go. You can't win a race at T1, but you can lose it.
Yeah, it’s the reason I went safe at Watkins Glen last week and chose the BMW. I remembered how I struggled in the Ferrari over those inner loop kerbs. Thought I’d be ok at Imola as there’s not so many kerbs to take… unless you do what I ended up doing, and running out wide! I pretty much knew exactly what was going to happen at T1, yet I was still powerless to avoid it! People forget that you almost have to treat T1 like the formation lap there, and stay left/right to be safe.
Yeah, I checked it on the replay and the car was pinging everywhere. One second it’s under the track, the next it’s flying through the trees! It’s weird, dunno if it’s an Imola issue, but my last ACC Imola video I get taken out by a pinging car. Hardly ever see ping problems in ACC, except at Imola.
Ahhh yeah I know. I was lapping well below my pace so I felt like the two in front were holding me up a bit, but just pushed a bit too hard at the wrong time. Reckon most other cars would have rejoined no problem, but that Ferrari hates bumpy kerbs!
I must admit, I was on the verge of packing it all in last month. Wasn’t having fun at all. I’m trying to persevere with it and I am starting to have fun again, but the driving standards are definitely getting worse - across all sims and platforms.
Haha this one wasn’t bad at all, to be fair, once we got T1 out the way. Given that it was a rookie race, it was far cleaner than a lot of the main sprint series races I’ve been in lately!
Thankfully it looks like this was my one race in it. I’m now high enough to get back in the main series - although it’ll only take one disaster there to send me back to rookies once again 😰 gonna really try hard to avoid trouble for a few races

Cheers, yeah, nothing I could do to avoid it. Got it stopped in time but you can’t control what goes on behind. Still enjoyed the race though 👍
