I have been selling part time on "that selling website" since 2018 and I sell over $8,000 a month and thats my side gig! Partly completed cross stitch kits sell!!! On your phone, whenever you're wondering the selling rate of an item, search the item, look at how many are currently selling, then go to "filter" then click "show more" and scroll down to "sold". The solds are showing how many sold in a 3 month period. Example, vintage sunbeam fry pan has 381 currently listed but only 91 sold in a 3 month period which is about 10% sell thru rate per month. I check these statistics prior to purchasing something. You may be holding onto that fry pan for 10 months before it sells. I try to sell my items within a 3 month time frame. I wont flip something under a 35% sell thru rate per month unless you are willing to hold onto it and take up space. I tell myself, I'm in the selling market, not the storage market when I decide if I want to flip something. I know you want to keep the fry pan but this was just an example I quickly looked up ...Hope this helps!

You have to do a ton of volume to make money. Believe me, I know. Plus the store usually takes a 10% commission on everything you sell. It is rare to come across things that you can actually make a lot of money on. I’m in an antique mall and sales have been down all summer. Money is tight right now. I think since she finds such random things she’d be better off selling on EBay.

8:43 I had found a crystal bowl exactly like that, it was lead crystal. While the bowl is resting on a table and you tap something against it and it makes a pretty ''ringing'' sound, it is definitely lead crystal. I sold it for I think 30 bucks back in the mid 1990's.

Committ an amount of money ($100) and offer on your store site just to see if there is interest.

❤❤❤ Yes. eBay or marketplace. I think the scary looking farm implement with the two handles and the blade I think that’s for scraping bark off logs when you’re making a log cabin. There are apps you can get that will help you identify the items and there worth. I checked it out but it does have a cost to it so I didn’t go forward with the app but if it’s a business expense for you - it might be worth it. Sometimes cleaning the item can make it worth less so I would not clean or shine up the items. I would just leave it.

Grandma had a lamp just like yous back on the farm from the late 60s through 1996 when her household contents were auctioned off before going to an assisted living apartment. I would move them to a low-traffic location inside the house away from possible bouncing balls, car doors or possible mouse munching on the electric cord in the garage.
You might try advertising the lace items on your site as they would be easiest to ship to viewers out of state. Maybe check into consignment shops or antique dealers to sell to in Colorado where people would pay more for the items than in your area?

I have no idea how to find the right people but there are people who travel the country buying MCM stuff to sell in their MCM stores. You wouldn’t make near as much money as selling yourself but you also wouldn’t have the hassle of shipping items and you’d still be making a very good profit.

I have run a thrift store for over 20 years. Believe me when I say that you are traveling down a rabbit hole you do not want to go down. I am in the middle of the cornfields. Things like what you have are in all the basements around here. No one around here wants them. I do not have enough time to list them and/or locate buyers for this stuff. I am presently sitting on top of a signed crystal lamp I cannot get rid of. (Has sold for $500 on ebay) Oftentimes, I just give the stuff, for free, to people, from other areas/states, just to get rid of it and to keep it from going into the landfill. Things are only worth what the buyers you find are willing to pay for it. You do well with the business you are presently involved with. The resale business will eat you up as you search to try to get what you perceive to be the value of something. Times are changing and buyers are getting harder and harder to find. My suggestion to you........Keep your sanity and RUN!!

The crochet items and linens would be good to sell at the prices you’re seeing. The coffee pot I’d jeep for power outages, good as a cowboy coffee pot. For the lamps, Go by the actual sale price. If items seem to be going for too much than others sales (like a 50 dollar Pyrex that someone sold for 1,000) then there is some type of money passing through hands business. Just like what happens in the art world.

I would try to sell the lamps. Midcentury items can go for a high price depending on what it is. If you don’t sell them on eBay then I’m not sure where to sell them. If you don’t sell on line, don’t expect to get as high a price as those you saw. You won’t get that price in an antique mall or on Marketplace because you won’t have the volume of shoppers. If I have an item to sell that I look up on EBay, I always ask a lower price. Also just because an item is a certain price doesn’t mean it’s worth that much or that it will sell. I have items on my watch list on EBay that are still for sale after two years.

I am not into selling online or even locally, so everything goes to thrift stores, nonprofits, of course! I just sent two identical lamps to our thrift store a couple of months ago. Yes, I knew how much they were worth. My aunt got tired of them and passed them to my mother, who thought they were ugly, as did I….
I also jettisoned the exact lead crystal bowl with the silver ring around the top we received for a wedding gift in 1977. I moved it across the county several times and only used it a couple of times.
