Over a decade later and this tune still rocks hard.

I fucking love Gen 3. It's just...wonderful. Those new Pokémon, that beautiful and nature-full map, THAT ELITE 4. I had lots of problems with Drake and Glacia at first, not to talk about Steven's Metagross and Cradily. But oh, I loved the whole game

IMO the Hoenn themes were best for the original GBA games because they were practicing integrating beats into their music, and when they were updated and remixed, they didn't really have the best harmonies. Also, the pokemon company has been known to make battle themes that are serious, and this does not have the same serious feel to it, it's more of a you're almost there, keep plodding along type of tune

This was one of my favorite elite four challenges because it wasnt my first game (LG/FR) but my second, so i had a good enough idea of the difficulty i was going to be up against. Hoenn's Elite Four was the most intense thrilling set of pokemon battles in my entire career as a pokemon master. H o l y C r a p dude

And gen 8 has been in the works since gen 6 was completed. So its safe to assume by this point gen 7 was near completion. And by now i wouldnt be shocked if gen 9 is being worked on as we speak

This reminds me of my first time ever in an Elite Four... I remember not knowing what to expect, buying as many potions as I could, and letting me and Swampert take care the Elite Four. This was in 2004, and I still have my first Pokemon ever, Swampert in my Black 2 version to this day. He may be a bunch of pixels, but he holds so many memories.
2:12 to 2:28 was the best part of this remix. Just epic!
Ruby was the first Pokemon game I ever owned and played through completely by myself. Listening to this remix brought back the feelings of determination and frustration from trying to beat the E4 for the very first time -- even more so than when I initially beat OR/AS. I don't know what it is about this track. Maybe it's the sick guitars.

Gen three was my favorite and the elite four were such pushovers i had a save file where i beat them over 120 times, the hall of fame literally started deleting earlier entries.
Uh, it seems to me you're boasting rather unnecessarily.
Not to say 120 isn't a lot, but it only takes 51 defeats to start deleting Hall of Fame Entries since it can only hold 50 at a time in Gen 3.
Not sure about Gen 3 as there were far better places to train Pokémon up than the league so I never had much reason to go back there but in Gen 2 it also maxed out at 200-Famer.
I know because I had over 200 before Gen 3 released on my Crystal save (which somehow 12 years later still exists - the save battery has yet to die) every single registry in my Crystal Hall of Fame says "200-Famer" because I've beaten it hundreds of times, well beyond the 230 required (Gen 2 only holding 30 at a time before deleting).
I do have to wonder though, how many people have maxed it out like that. I doubt I'm the only one, but at least the last time I checked Bulbapedia about a year back, they didn't have it up on the page, so it seems none of them are as obsessed with playing the games as I am, making me the holder of some rare (even if rather unimportant) knowledge about the games.
Though I guess whoever reads this will now also know.

I hate how she uses her ghost types strategically... Also, my main was a Slaking so that didn't help.
Momo M yeah ghost type are always a pain, but if you have a pokemon that can hit hard and hit fast then they are never that hard to deal with, since you remove the problem before it becomes a problem XD

I like the e4 hoenn theme alot. The reason why? It feels like your going to have a rough fight with Sidney or glacia or drake. It gets me excited as of though somebody did all of my dirty work for me. So all in all, this is an awesome remix! Awesome job glitchxcity!

You are mostly right about the "growing up with the game" thing but like other people have said other factors than just that play a huge part into why this game has won so many favorites.
The moment you've got a lvl 100, the Elite Four are screwed :D

The Hoenn region has to be one of my favorite regions of all time. It had the coolest box art legendaries, my favorite starter (Mudkip, mostly because his first form is the cutest thing ever), and the most unique (at least in my opinion) type specialists in the elite four. Dark, Ghost, Ice, and Dragon have some really cool Pokémon and I feel like the Hoenn Elite Four really put into perspective how dangerous these types can be. The addition of Mega Evolutions in the Gen 6 games just made it even more apparent.
