Another good one! I like the way you integrate the music. Very well done! On a side note...I spent 39years working for the company that produced the Phantom II's J79 engines. Thanks for the great video!
OK, first time watching one of your vids and when I heard "getting the enema deal of the century" made me lol and love you immediately! Thanks for the laugh!
Hey Sally and Marty Another awesome video as usual. The views in the desert are absolutely amazing and the memorial garden was really nice. It was neat to learn the history of a town so many know so little about. A suggestion for those out of the way places that are just too much to hike, you ought to do like so many others and get a drone. You can really get some amazingly awesome Arial shots. However, that is merely a suggestion. Your videos are spectacular just the way they are. Until next time, stay safe and God bless. Steve in Oklahoma
Been wanting to visit that town someday. Glad you did a video on it!! Don't burn that tree. You looked relaxed sitting on that bench. Those jets are pretty cool! Yes my dad who was in the Navy told us about the hooks for the planes who were based on carriers. Last camp of hi Jolley. Thanks fir sharing about Buck Conners! Old gold mines are always interesting to explore! That area with symbols on the ground are interesting!! Love the view from the hill. I would be doing the same thing as Marty, exploring the caves. The green plants growing in the desert . The grinding rocks are always interesting, as well as the old ruins. Btw, love your hat!! Didn't know it was called Tyson Well. The museum is nice. Aww Ice Cream parlor. Sad the book store is for sale. The camel stop gas station is cool! Quartsite Jail is interesting! Thanks for sharing Celia's Memorial Garden is special !!! Definitely loved the one with guitar! Thanks for sharing! Loved it!
Wow, I didn't know that Quartzsite was even a town, I just thought it was a place where RV's set up for the winter. And it's May now and likely a lot of people are leaving because those triple digit figures for the summer begin in May. In fact, we would always bet amongst our friends and co-workers what day in May would reach 100 degrees. I grew up in Scottsdale, Az
I love your videos! I have been watching your channel for years. One of the first ones I saw was the one where you went to that huge mansion that had been different things over the years. I think it might have been in Illinois but I am not sure. Thanks for all the great videos!
Up in the hills there is a old concret arrow and a signal tower... This was for the air mail and was from before GPS aand long range radar, etc. They were accross the country and were used as guide posts. The mill ruins you were at above Erenburg are from the La Paz Mining District and are on Tribal lands today. A permit is required to explore out there.
There was an aircraft arresting barrier at the ends of the runway at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth Texas. I was in the USAF in 1974-1978, working in the Electrical Power shop, I was the first woman assigned to that shop. They kinda freaked out, but one of our responsibilities was to service the barrier by maintaining the little generator that was used to rewind the cable after it was used or while replacing the rubber "donuts" that lifted the cable a few inches above the pavement. We had F-4s stationed there in the 301st CAM Squadron, a reserve unit. I really disliked the shop. They didn't even have a bathroom that I could use. I had to go across a 5 lane main road to get to a ladies room. Those airmen in my shop were abusive to me.
I used to live across the street from the bar, behind the ice cream shop. Had the best of both worlds. In the winter. Even helped Toto and Dorothy remodel it. Painted the whole exterior of it. Bertha who owns the place has a great RV park there and can supply all your leather needs. Tell em all I said ,howdy! You missed a great story of why all the police force quit in one year. Dirty little secrets.😂😊
@SightseeingSally let's just say, corruption at its finest level. Do what the phony town board tells you. Not what is the law. They set an example for DC. They show old pictures of what the town used to look like and try to say it's the same today. Not so. They use to get 1-1.5 million a season. Now? Not anywhere near. If you don't kiss their a** they take all your permits from you. People were and still are fleeing from there. Many have choose Lake Havasu City and Kingman to winter in. The Rock and mineral show was known around the world. First in the nation. Now Tucson is. You couldn't find a place to park. You parked on the street. They wanted to be another Scottsdsle and ended up a big truck stop. The long sucking sound of a town running down the drain. To bad. So sad.
Hello, Just found some of your videos. I really like to learn about localized history. I have been through Quartzite a dozen times. Never knew any of this? Thanks for sharing. Also, do you have a GoPro mounted to the same pod as your phone camera? or is that just a light panel? If so I never thought about a set up like that. Cool!
19:30 - That's cast in place concrete (CIP) It was likely poured all in the same day. The lines you are seeing on the exterior are from the wooden form boards. Making concrete walls like this over several day would require several pours (multiple lifts) and would create "cold joints" in the concrete witch would cause structural and waterproofing problems ...
It is a dirty filthy little town that thinks nothing of handing you a $259 ticket for left turn on a green light. I had to buy 5 tires due to flats because there are Nails everywhere you go. I was trapped in this stupid little town for 6 months and spent some $5000 just trying to get out of town. They cut their own throats, I will never go back to that nasty place.
Sally, you are a hoot!!😅 Absolutely adorable! Wish you were my daughter! Love your laid-back persona, Dear Soul; truly "one-of-a-kind!" When the Good Lord made you; He broke the mold!😁🙏🏻👍🥰
The "RVtv" guy thinks this place is Valhalla. When I see nothing but sand, living here in N. Michigan, I hardly agree. Glad to see you up and around, Sally...keep sight seeing !
Sad that nobody gets the irony in the phrase that our friend, who lived in his van, coined. I get it, y’all find it offensive but there are way bigger problems in this world that people should be focusing their anger on instead… for example, the reasons why so many have been forced into living out of their vehicles.
You're right arresting hook for catching cables three quaters of the waydown the runway in case of a brake failure, also those are RF4C's reconnaissance versions no guns just cameras.
Hello Sally an Marty please check your facts about your information you got on the f 4 s they are air force aircraft, never but to land on a navy carrier, the hook you spoke of isn't a tail hook, also it never flew 1400 mph ,if you lookup the tail number the only thing it shot was pictures, it was a recon jet , who ever gave you the information on the jets obviously doesn't know the facts or listen Ed to gossip, my knowledge is first hand, direct connection to those f 4s myself and my father were involved in getting them to qtz and we also both worked on them on the flight line in the air force , adding up all the years myself and other family members served our country it comes to over 100 years, oh yeah the nick name of the f4 flew so slow it was called a pig good video just check facts first thx rachele
I was stationed at four U.S. F-4 squadrons during the '80s. The theoretical top speed of an F-4 Phantom was Mach 2.2 (1688 mph). In 1961, the F-4 set the world speed record of 1606 mph over a 20-mile course. This was just one of several speed records the F-4 set. That speed record was not broken until 1975 -- by an F-15 Eagle. Slow it was not. I never once heard any aircrew or maintenance crew call an F-4 a "pig". Its nicknames were "Rhino", "Lead Sled", and "Double Ugly." Whether an RF-4 (the reconnaissance version) could fly Mach 2.2 is the question. You can tell an RF-4 by the camera windows near the radome. All F-4s were manufactured with a tail hook, even the Air Force Phantoms. Although they rarely had use for it, in an emergency, they could indeed catch a wire on an airfield. I'm not sure where you get your "facts", but nearly all information about the Phantom is freely available online now.
That is not reality though the reality is that they do have to travel through the towns to get groceries to get gas to empty their tanks to shower and do laundry don't you think it would be nice for them to say what areas that people should stay out of because whether you like it or not this lifestyle can be very dangerous especially now that we have a lot of our senior citizens living this lifestyle.
I don't live far from Quartzite, but I didn't know there were so many things to see there.
Give me a break the only thing they got in quartzite is hot and cold running B.S.
