My family has been in this town since 1916..many awesome memories! Several generations from both sides of my family have worked and raised their families here..I love this place!!
My last name is Brown, some of my kin are from White Lake and Antigo. Some of my kin are buried just down the road in a private cemetery near Elton Wi. I learned how to water ski at White lake. Cool.
Another interesting video, Sally ! I appreciate that you included the name of the town in the thumbnail so that we know right away where we are going with you.
Sally's speaking is always very clear and consistent . Unique and very professional. A rare talent. She makes it look easy even tho most would fall flat on their faces. Great video!
I saw two pictures of my Grandpa Arnold Buettner while you were looking around the museum. He's one of the little boys in the pic of the folks at Van Ostrand logging camp. Later in life he was the forest ranger in town. My mother and her siblings grew up in the ranger station, which is now a house on the lake. Thanks for the nice video of White Lake!
I love this video I was raised in White Lake at the kid till we move back up north by Superior I have been back there in years and I will always wanted to go back thank you for the video it's a lot like it was when I was a kid in the 60s but back then were you by the school we used to have a red Owl store which the kids were able to walk to I remember a lot of the churches the streets in the peer my dad used to take me fishing in White Lake and we need to catch white bass we lived on a farm always want to go back again just to see White Lake but I can see that is completely monetized from what it was from back in the sixties you brought my mind to when I used to come out those very School doors that was a new school cuz they didn't have the new school when I was a kid a big white building what's the school thank you very much for the Memories
I'm very glad that a lot of our towns in Wisconsin are being "overlooked" considering what has been happening elsewhere....you get my drift. White Lake is a pretty and quiet little town and it should stay that way. Thanks, Sally and Marty!
From talking to the people at the historical museum, I also got the impression that White Lake is a tight knit community with townsfolk who still enjoy getting together and participating in village events.
You are correct that the gravel pathway is the old railroad. The Wisconsin & Northern, then Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault St. Marie, which became the Soo Line. The C&NW left first, the Soo, later. The depot was moved.
I love these videos because they are so informative and relaxing to watch. Also, enjoy the interaction and input from Meandering Marty. You all work so well together in your presentations
@@SightseeingSally I also need to mention that I graduated from the school in ‘86 played football for the white lake lakers, also I lived on center street in the corner house n later on mill st ! Thanks agin ,brings back a lot of good memories ! Also at one time the bording house had a game room at on time where I played pool and pinball !
Thank you Sally & Marty ! Super interesting, as always ! When are you going to take the Badger across Lake Michigan to Ludington, it is a very historic town.

I think you're both wrong (or rather right, but let's say wrong). I believe they figured one building would serve just fine for both a church and a school.
Wisconsin pride, you two are wonderful and these videos show natives presenting our great state proper. Thank you so much!

Apparently, there was no "George Bailey" there to save the bank.🤥
I guess not. I didn’t hear any bells tinkling when filming here either. 😉

You shouldn't come to the Farmington New Mexico four corners area
U need to come back during the 4th of july
Sally. Why do you always wear torn up jeans? Was someone dragging you along the sidewalk after a party night?
I think you're both wrong (or rather right, but let's say wrong). I believe they figured one building would serve just fine for both a church and a school.
We had concentration camp in franksville.Wisconsin, I've heard..
