Carry my Rite in the Rain notebook everyday and use it a lot. It is nice to have a notebook that doesn't fall apart. Used it again today in the pouring rain and you can't even tell it got wet. The plastic covers are nice to, they don't get all beat up. Keep up the excellent work!👍
No you can definitely tell because the pages get all wrinkled and warped.

That's your competition? Why not test your product against a Field Notes™ Expedition notebook? That's actually what I was looking for when I found this video. Maybe I'll buy both and make my own review.
The orange notebook is a 'weather-resistant' competitor, so it's a fair competition. Indeed, a comparison between Field Notes and RITR would be interesting as well.
Field Notes uses Yupo Paper, a synthetic that we also use in our DuraRite line of waterproof products. Yupo is fully waterproof and excellent for underwater applications. However, it is generally more expensive and it is not recyclable. Additionally, it tends to be pickier with writing instruments and does not have the same texture as regular paper if you prefer a traditional writing feel.
If you'd like to conduct a test, I recommend comparing FN Expedition, our DuraRite products, and our Rite in the Rain products.
We've made weatherproof writing products in the USA since 1916, so the paper really does perform. You don't see Field Notes getting used by Marines stationed abroad or by geologists working in the Arctic - RITR is the choice of outdoor professionals due our performance and huge selection of weatherproof products.

Sure thing. The Expedition book is a good product; no doubt. By using the same materials, its water-resistance is equivalent to our DuraRite line. If you write underwater, definitely go with FN or DuraRite for that Yupo material. If you write above the surface, we have 400+ weather-resistant writing products calling your name.
@@ouchymytoe field notes isn’t a real field notebook. It’s an overpriced art brand catering to hipster yuppies and would get you laughed at if you actually ever went outside.
I have a few ritr notebooks and i like the durable plastic covers, thats the reason i buy them, sometimes the inks smears but no big deal, wish they had the blank spiral type more available
Hey, thanks for the comment. Are you using a gel pen? Unfortunately, because our paper is water-resistant, it isn't optimal for use with water-based inks like gel inks. Make sure you're using a ballpoint pen, pencil, or permanent marker. If you love gel pens but want to use RITR, check out the Uniball Jetstream. It writes like a G2 but with RITR-friendly ink.
