Hey Mr. Mac, Thanks for this informative video, as well as your other one about which key to get first. I now have a much better idea of what Dizi to get. I am a saxophone player that also doubles on clarinet, flute and piccolo, but I decided recently to expand my knowledge to the Dizi as I've also played a tiny bit of Irish flute before. Funny I should come across a Cantonese speaker introducing this to me, as my parents were from Hong Kong! Best regards, Marcus
Thank you Mr mac this was very helpful, it was hard to make sound from my new dizi I had to blow very slowly after I saw this video I covered the metal part with tape and glue and left it for a day now works fine
Thanks for the Video, I got given one from a friend trying to encourage me to take up music again. I haven't tried it yet but looking forward to learning :)
I just went for the fate to decide for me, and didn't look up the keys of dizi, I wanted to buy, so I ended up with F key Dizi, and it's exactly what I wanted, truly wonderful sound 😁
I had to order from ebay - no one sells them where I live. I got one that is not cracked or damaged. a 2 piece one. It's okay for a first one but I bet if I spent more money I would get one that is actually easier to play because it's made better.
Brand/Artist? As said here, buying online is risky, but sometime we do not have other choice, i.e. due to distance. So is there anyway or any shop or any brand/artist anyone could recommend that we can trust for quality (independent of price)? Thanks!
Want to ask you something mak jok si. I am planning to get purple bamboo flute but my music teacher said that the redwood much stronger and nicer sound. I am confused... Also redwood cost double times expensive than purple one.. What is your opinion about iit?
Pick a cheap one for beginners actually a very good choice, many people just play it for 3 days and found they can't even make a sound out of it then they just went back to video games......
I like the sound of the purple bamboo. A beginner here. 😅 trying to choose the best dizi now for myself.
just got a bamboo flute in d...using tape right now...excellent video sir.. I really appreciate it..
I have an indian flute called " Bansuri" . the bansuri is used for carnatic music , or song

Dear sir, can I know what is the meaning of "C Key" Dizi? Is there "G Key" or "D Key" dizi as well? What is the difference? Thanks
There's G and D as well, and the difference is the key, the sound.
Beginner is D which is easier. C is also good too.
What’s the best key to buy ?
D, F, G, C
