Blow harder and if that doesn't work they doing a like poping P i if you know what I mean so ur air with get more powerful and it should make you play in a higher octave
I purchased my dizi from a little shop in Hong Kong China. but I can't seem to get it to maintain a sound. I know how to apply the dimo and tune it. but this larger size is giving me a lot of trouble. my smaller one C plays fine but the F key is not playing properly? could there be something wrong with the blow hole?!
Quem diria de ter pipas erhus e entre outros instrumentos musicais expostos no vídeo juntamente com a DIZI sendo tocado por você que toca o instrumento.
A cheap but playable one can cost only around $20 (CAD), but a good one may cost up to $1000, depending on who made it, what material it is, how well it plays, and what key/size it is.
Probably same technique as western flutter tongue. When you blow the air you roll your tongue at high frequency. Tongue trills. Like rolled r's when you say perro in Spanish. or when you imitate a cat purring.
Why do I rarely make a sound on my dizi? It's a g key and I'm a beginner, but I want to play the untamed theme music. How many hours of practicing do I need by myself with just youtube videos?
Priya Anna I got mine from ezbuy and my friend got hers on amazon. We both got a D key one because that was what people online reccommended to beginners
@Mamuni takes practice. I don’t practice regularly, but even then I think i’m doing not too bad. Costed less than $20 for an instrument on the cheaper end, so I think it’s really affordable.
iLoveTurtlesHaha asshole, the long pinkie nail is a sign that he is Buddhist. When someone trims the nail except the pinkie is a sign that they are believing in Buddha. Think twice, bitch.
istg mdzs and cql really do be inspiring me to learn a whole intrument
Dude same 😂
Smh same. I just got mine today and am tryna figure out how to become the next Wei Wuxian 😂
@@ai_shikyo same was kinda awkward trying to explain why I'm interested in the dizi without saying Wuxian the dizi master
@@silentwinter3946 Lol it’s a pretty instrument in general. Wei Wuxian is my main reason tho x)
catch me with a 30$ dizi from etsy watching this for the same damn reason
I'm feeling dizi
Hahaha, so much blowing trying to make a sound. This is more difficult than I thought 😆
@@EduMatsu bruh me too 😭 like you have to be in a certain position for the sound to come out
Would be perfect if you added single little videos about those 5 techniques.
+1 I agree!
Woah, I would love to go to that store😭😍😭
The name of the song Da Qing Shan Xia (大青山下)
amazing, thank you for this. I want to learn the Dizi now as I love the sound of traditional Chinese music
I just love the sound of Asian flutes, especially the dizi, bawu, and shakuhachi (yes I know the bawu isn't really a flute).
Thank you for your instructive introduction. I think I shall be able to play mine, now!
Fantastic demonstration! For some time i was looking for a presentation with more technical details. thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much for the demonstration.

Thank you for beautiful performance! Do you have many different kinds of Dizi to play any keys like all western song?
How do you play hua she? Presumably something to do with the membrane vibration, but I can't figure it out.
Probably same technique as western flutter tongue. When you blow the air you roll your tongue at high frequency. Tongue trills. Like rolled r's when you say perro in Spanish. or when you imitate a cat purring.
What key are you using
Is the long pinky nail to show status?
Man can play a mean dizi

Amazing , thank you!
How to buy, a Dizi key of C, for profesional..?
Hi! Does it really matters your finger position? I have weird finger position in holding a flute but I can still play well. Thanks!
excellent video
Good introduction
Thank you!
Should I grow out the nails of my pinky fingers too?

Any dizi class in Sydney?
Anyone know a video I can watch to make the hua she sound?
Look up “flutter tongue”. It’s the same technique. Basically roll your “r” like in Spanish while blowing.

2:50 how to spell that song
Wut is the songs name at 2:45?
Isaac Rosales it sounded something like da xing sang xia. But beware, I don't speak Chinese.
Isaac Rosales its called Da Qing Shan Xia
Isso sim é que é tocar dizi.
What key is that in
@Marissa Cole Did you play Dizi
thank.
What Scale does this flute have? I like it, because it has high tones.
Marioana123 I think the G key Dizi is the highest pitch
dizi have around 2 and a half octaves, i recommend a D key dizi, as its easier to play and has both low and high notes
What is below the mouth piece
Aiman Raffali of it is that grey hole it is a membrane hole

Hello! I click to subscribe to your channel. I like and want to learn Chinese instruments but my country is hard to find.

Wow! Is it difficult to learn to play the Dizi?
angeber
wow.
anyone else notice the coke nail?
I see that coke nail my bro. Keep it up.
Morgan Green I think it's to pick his nose. Gross.
oooor it is to play one of the many string instruments behind him
Ja man, doing coke in Singapore is no joke you know. Musicians better than I am do use the right pinky to pluck the pipa (bottom left corner).
someone likes cristine

He's largely unintelligible, but I like his flute.
