- Episode "Monster" (commonly referred to as the mud monster golem) aired in 1978 under the series title "The World Beyond." With commercials. Unfortunately the tape source seems to have blended video. This was actually an episode for unsold 1977 series "World of Darkness" and the rare pilot episode, and soundtrack by Fred Karlin, are also on this youtube channel.

Wow, this is a fantastic upgrade compared to the previous versions that were on YT. This is the best version. And I enjoyed seeing the vintage commercials, too. This has to be one of my all-time favorite scary TV experiences. Thank you for posting this video!
ALSO: If you're a Dark Shadows fan, you may want to look for actor Joel Crothers ("Joe Haskell") in the commercial for Lowenbrau beer. At that point, he looked almost exactly like Tom Selleck.
The lead Grandville van Dusen, is also in ESCAPADE with Morgan Fairchild from 1978, an attempt by super-writer Brian Clemens to create a sort of U.S. version of the 1960s TV spy classic THE AVENGERS, which Clemens became the eventual mastermind of. In 1977, he was also in the BIONIC WOMAN episode BIOFEEDBACK, which was also intended as a de facto pilot for a spin-off that never happened. This is his second outing as Paul Taylor in the video above. Still active today, he's appeared ion key episodes of many other hit TV shows, had to big, long runs on a few soap operas and is the latter-day voice of Race Bannon in various animated JOHNNY QUEST revivals.
