Yea, its depressing.... lol There was a DJ on the radio yesterday talking about all the stuff that was out in '98... It sure doesnt seem like 20 yrs ago now! Thanks for watching & commenting!
Pedal2Metal I think I left college in 98, definitely weird how the 90's doesn't feel that long ago... Anyway, Im enjoying your videos, thinking of getting into this stuff myself so been watching a few, I used to have a big old leather shopping bag of my Mum's full of diecast cars as a kid, very beaten up diecast cars... Wish I had kept them now.
I gotta say Hot Wheels is one of those brands that just don't get THAT worse through the time. Even today I'd still say it has the spirit, but goddam it some of those older HWs NEED to come back.
When Larry Wood retired a lot of the realism in Hot Wheels went with him. He was one of the main designers that packed the lineup with "regular cars". Some of the newer guys like Jun Imai do a pretty good job at getting some non-fantasy-modified tuner cars and muscle cars in the lineup.
What an amazing batch of cars. You obviously bought a lot of them because they were the first editions. That's what I'm into now days. Those and the case mainlines
I got a question, why do you hate fantasy castings? i'm always curious why some folks hate them. most are decent if one can get over the fact its a fantasy car.
I guess I shouldn't have said I "hate" the fantasy cars, cause that is misleading, tbh. Let's just say I'm not a huge fan of many of them... BUT, I do understand that many kids find them to be attractive and prefer them to, say, the standard 'ole ford focus or such. I do like the fantasy cars they create that resemble prototype race cars. I hope that helps.... I know my mom used to always yell at me when I would use the word hate. I should probably listen to her more. lol. Thanks for watching & commenting; I appreciate it!!
i love the CLK-GTR casting, shame it hasn't come back in a racing series or with real riders and more detail (from hot wheels itself), lots of potential. Same for the 1998 Porsche GT1 (they could make a 1997 version too). Dodge "concept car" is a Copperhead
It is so cool, 20 years later, but the hot wheels are still manufacturing in the exactly same style they were in 90s. But I noticed, in that time some hot wheels have rims and wheels that today's hot wheels don't have. Also most of these models were already discontinued and today, we aren't able to see them anymore. Only few models, like the VW Beetle and Chevy Impala are still in production. Very nice and interesting video, I also keep my hot wheels like that in cardboard boxes, just like you! 👍👍👌👌💟💟😄😄
You must be old enough by now... What would you be doing with this collection??? Do you have a display?? Would you hurt any kid messing with your collection??
Hey bro, really awesome collection you have there! By any chance you willing to sell all the Mercedes and Ferrari or at least the CLK DTM / F50? Thanks
I know this video is three years old, but I just stumbled on it on UA-cam. Shouldn't this be called Die Cast porn because I'm drooling over my keyboard here! :)
TIMF40 Worst case scenario, my dad gave away almost all my hotwheels and they weren’t even new. I loved the cts v, 69 and 70 gto judge and I only have my first car ever the 62 chevy from 2007-2008.
I have many of the same cars. They are from about 1995-1999. The yellow 442 and the truck that you said are from 1991 I think we’re still from about 1996 because I have them and I was never sure why it said 1991 when I bought them In the later 90”s.
So many models I wish I could find hanging from an untouched bin somewhere. Those chaparrals, the shadow... But nothing beats the tacoma. I really love it in its original deco, that, and the celica that I could never find. I might some day paint my tacoma with the original colors, but being realistic I don´t have time to do it.
I you were referring to the modern green mathbox ford gt or gt 40 i love that one i bought a couple of those and i detailed one myself ! I had to do the rear end up n paint it black!
Hey Sheldon, sorry I forgot to get back to u about the 1/18 job. Ive been super busy, so time is the main issue at the moment. Did u ever find some rims for the car you wanted detailed?
Hi Royce! No problem I Completely understand Ive been busy as well To answer your question No, I have not found rims that would compliment the style of the car. But Hopefully I will find some soon. I will keep you posted And touch basis with you when I do.I but I can send you the TR and the SL as well lol I don't want to put to much work on you lol Just let me know when you can work on it and I will find some rims and send them to you as soon as I can.
Mon I had my toys boxed up from when I was a child in the 70s the first Hot wheels that came out up in the attic room my nephew's came to my parents house and tore in my box that had my name on it and toys all my Hot wheel collection got scarred but I still have a miniature car set they were sold in comic books in the 70s I do still have the whole set it was a fire hydrant out house hand on a year shifter a bonit shark Devil
Pretty cool to see these, remember playing with many of these vividly, the escort cosworth in that color scheme was one of my favorites. Now off to eBay to see if I can score one 👍
it s been a Long time since you have upload another video on UA-cam but apart from that this model cars from 1990 s to 2000 s looks amazing and one question you know the value of all of this cars but as always good video ;-)
wow, what a great box of diecast goodness! and i can honestly say i made a video about an offer up haul i ran across... a good third of the cars in our box here were in that vid ;) btw theres a matching pikes peak celica to that toyota truck, and that first edition escort has a really neat story behind its tampos and the designer, it was his first design, and he recently did his 5000th a new ford fiesta rally in basically the same tampo/paint as that first edition escort ;) thanx for takin the time to share some dusty minty fresh cars! I for one would very much enjoy seeing another lost but now found episode!
LOL, thats weird, huh! I most likely have the Celica too (somewhere!) I found another box that is 4 times as many cars if not more, but I'm not sure people would want to see me go thru that or no. (?) I got a thumbs down already for this one... lol. Thats a really cool story about the Escort, I'll have to look hat up... sounds interesting!! Thanks for watching & commenting, Mike!
Hey there Royce, thanks for sharing, I have about six or seven boxes that are 20 or so years old, one of these days I'm going to pull them out and look through them, and I would love to see what you have in the other box you found
Thanks, Ed. Yea it's fun opening up boxes you forgot you had! I found a few more since the other night and I might film them too since people seem to like em. I know it disappointed a few since there was no real major finds but its still fun.
Thank you, Doug; I appreciate your comment greatly. I know I'm no wordsmith and find myself using "cool" way too much sometimes while doing the videos. I had 3 guys in one week (2 wks ago, I think it was) all write saying how lame I was and my customs suck, and I should stop immediately. Well, it bummed me out, I'm not going to lie, but I'll keep doing the videos because I know not everyone hates my clips, and that, honestly, keeps me going. So thank you again! My mom use to have a yellow/white Nash I think it was, I'm not sure if I sad that or not in the clip, but she had it when she met my dad in '60. Thanks again!
I love finding stuff I bought years ago and forgot about. Its just about as fun as the first time I found them! Do you have a place to view your detail work? I do customs and love seeing what others are creating.
Hi Bob, Thanks for watching and commenting! I do have a Flickr acct but I dont think I have many of my HWs on there. My Instagram link is down below in the description for some pics of my cars etc. Let me know where I can check out yours too! Thanks, Royce
Thanks for the reply! I don't have much yet on my Instagram since I just recently started it but I do add cars regularly now. You can check me out at instagram.com/BobsDiecastGarage . Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next video!
Wow, what a time capsule! I have all those cars (including the matchbox cars) bought at about the same year: 1998. My cards definitely don't look as nice as yours. Thanks for sharing.
I just freaked a bit when you said 19-20 years and I realized that's only 1998 lol
Yea, its depressing.... lol There was a DJ on the radio yesterday talking about all the stuff that was out in '98... It sure doesnt seem like 20 yrs ago now! Thanks for watching & commenting!

xneverwalkalonex hahaha same here...
Paint the Shelby cobra silver
If the cars are 1999 to 1991. How in the world could the box not be opened in 20+ years? 18 years tops.
that's my thoughts
The Evil Twin is a 2001 First Edition...
I forgot to add, I enjoyed the whole video, such a nostalgia trip and the joy of finding something like that untouched. I felt like a kid.
I gotta say Hot Wheels is one of those brands that just don't get THAT worse through the time.

I do miss some castings, but they got much much better with time, as they are showing us in the last few years.
I agree i would like to see a phantom corsair it would be cool
Amazing cars!!! Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you; and thank you for watching & commenting!
Np, please watch to a few vids of us, that will be soooooo nice ;)
What an amazing batch of cars. You obviously bought a lot of them because they were the first editions. That's what I'm into now days. Those and the case mainlines
must be nice to open a 20 years old box, was nice to watch also
This is cool, I have 98% of the same cars. Collecting since 1995. No idea of how many I have, but this was a nice reminder. Great video. 👍🏾
Thanks, man! It's fun looking through boxes of older cars! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I got a question, why do you hate fantasy castings? i'm always curious why some folks hate them. most are decent if one can get over the fact its a fantasy car.

Its cool. just wanted to know also nice cars you did find and i'm 26 and i love the fantasy castings just as much as the real cars. to each their own!
+Papa katzz True! I used to be a designer, so I do appreciate what goes into making them that's for sure.
For me it has to be really dope. Most are ugly. Imo.
I really like street wiener and that got-2-go truck.
i love the CLK-GTR casting, shame it hasn't come back in a racing series or with real riders and more detail (from hot wheels itself), lots of potential. Same for the 1998 Porsche GT1 (they could make a 1997 version too). Dodge "concept car" is a Copperhead
Yea, I was thinking it was 'Copperhead'.
+Pedal2Metal dodge already had the "viper" so I guess the "copperhead" was yet another snake themed car from dodge. Shame it never made production.
No way the green impala 65 wish still have it :’( missing long time lost in my dad van h50 hiace
It is so cool, 20 years later, but the hot wheels are still manufacturing in the exactly same style they were in 90s.

I know you said you dont like it but i thoght that ford stake bed truck was cool! Sweet camaro. Cool ferrari shark nose. Thanks for sharing!
You must be old enough by now... What would you be doing with this collection??? Do you have a display?? Would you hurt any kid messing with your collection??
how much you want for those Flashsiders?
Great box of treasures. I have some of those loose but to see in packs is a nostalgia trip. I regret not collecting more from the 90s.
Zoomed in this much on a hand cam causes a bit of motion sickness. Otherwise, awesome cars!
Hey bro, really awesome collection you have there! By any chance you willing to sell all the Mercedes and Ferrari or at least the CLK DTM / F50? Thanks
I'm guessing his gay ass put them back in storage.
I will take the blue toilet car.... 😉 I have a pink toilet car and a older white toilet car.
Pedal2metal I want the blue Ford GT40 please send it to me?
I know this video is three years old, but I just stumbled on it on UA-cam. Shouldn't this be called Die Cast porn because I'm drooling over my keyboard here! :)

My aunt had a Nash Metro. I enjoy watching your videos and your commentaries on each video. You can say “Cool” all you want! LOL!
Thank you, Doug; I appreciate your comment greatly. I know I'm no wordsmith and find myself using "cool" way too much sometimes while doing the videos. The old Ferrari 156 is absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite castings. Wish Mattel could remake some of those older style Grand Prix cars.
Thank you, Benjamin. I agree with you 100%! Thanks for watching & commenting!!
I wish they would re-relese some of these again.
How have you not been in that box for 20years? You had a 2001 first edition in there...if my math skills are up to par that is not 19 or 20 years ago
True... I fixed the title on the other up and coming "box" videos.
Nice time capsule. The Ford GT was sweet! I agree about the wheels choice on the Ferrari.
Thanks Christopher! I subbed your channel and love your editing style on your intro video; wow, is all I can say!
