Lmao yep that's how it is with about everything my son ask me all the time with his trading cards and I say the same quote and he gives me that blank lost stare
I never realized how collectable errors were in the past. But recently, I've noticed how much more unique errors can be. I skipped a Ken Block Fiesta missing the front wheels, but then I was told they were special so I drove back as quickly as possible to buy it! :D This video's helped me see the other possible errors to spot.
I was confused with my economics homework and so I decided to take a break and relax and watch some racegrooves and this video really helped me understand demand for products. Thank you so much!
Finding that piece of fabric in the package happens from time to time. People think it's a band-aid but it isn't. Your Angry Birds piece is an awesome find! If you make a video of your Errors, you can post it as a Video Response to this Error video. It won't automatically post, I have to approve it.
Your right! Errors are only worth what someone will pay for them. A good example of that is that I saw a 2012 Super TH have a so called "major paint error" for sale on Ebay. I didn't think it was major, and the person was selling it for $175! I'm not suprised that nobody offered to buy it!
Good talk. It's a shame that more and more people try to collect things for the monetary value rather than the joy of collecting. They think because it seems rare it's worth more money. But like you said, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. Loving those T-buckets. They remind me so much of one of my all-time favorite castings, the Hot Heap!!
Since they come from maylasia and someone makes a profit even at $1.00 each , I'm not shocked that quality control is about as reliable as a plumbers estimate . I had a summer job in a Plant that made bottled items and the job paid really well in 1974 . I spotted the odd bad plastic bottle and a chipped glass one right at the screw-on cap spot , there were even defective screw-on caps that would have just made it into the box for retail stores. The pay made me want to keep the job ........maybe some of the workers fear being seen as a malcontent pointing out minor issues when the Stores might catch serious error and treat like damage inventory and eat the loss.
Baseball cards & Pokémon cards are made with way huger profit margin, yet they still high standards with quality control. Though when either one of them have an error it’s worth allot more then a regular card.
Thanks for this Racegrooves. I have a few errors myself and LOVE finding and collecting them, I agree that they're only worth what the buyer will pay but the "cool factor" has to play into it. I'd love to show you the few I have but I'm a complete novice at making and posting videos. I have the yellow 458 Lamborghini with two windshields - a blue corvette grand sport that didn't get snapped in the back all the way - a flipped around real rider porsche - a gold delorean with a missing hatch.
I have been collecting Hot Wheels cars (star wars and marvel) for probably 5 yrs now and i have about 100+ and i can tell you that i had NO clue that all hot wheels cars aimed to the right ... And as i look at each one, sure enough they ALL aim to the right ... And like you said, its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it ..
I agree. There's no physical price guide on errors because errors are not planned by the company. So, if you come up to an error, make sure you found it, don't buy errors off eBay or someone you don't know because that error might have been orchestrated.
I was just schooled... I have been collecting for over 45yrs and I only collect what catches my eye. I never even knew about those "mistakes" that's very interesting..
Found a corvette c7r hw race team that had the front rivet double stamped so the front underside of the car is a bit mangled ,packaging is perfect. Interesting find.
Can I have your opinion if the Soo Fine I have that has its top resting on the bottom of the car (top/bottom reversal, poetic) inside the blister an error. Some guys in the HWC forums thinks it's not. I think it is.
Collecting errors may be fun and people should do it if they enjoy it but spending a lot on them is not wise because it is so easy to open them, change things around and seal them up again with no way of telling.
You just have to judge the person your buying from .plus it's a lot of hard work for very little profit so can imagine there are a lot of people doing it .
That would be an ALW Error (All Large Wheels). That is an awesome piece for two reasons. It is on a Treasure Hunt release and it is on a fan-favorite model! As for how Rare, it is pretty rare. By the way, this video is one of the few where I allow Video Responses if people want to share their Errors. Remember, kid-friendly, be respectful, and try to keep it as short as possible.
So I just found a Miata in a Stinger branded box, and I picked up both the stinger and miata in their original packaging's. Would they be worth anything?
I have a matchbox de tomaso pantera with an error. The frond and rear axles were switched so now it has tiny rear wheels and huge front wheels. It’s in used contion with quite some wear. Any offers?
It dawned on me today for some reason that your ASW dealers choice Baja Bug looked familiar to me. Turns out the one I have also has the ASW error. Just to confirm it's supposed to have a big back wheel I ebayed it and low and behold it's supposed to LoL!! I bought it new and had it this whole time and I can safely say it's my first Error find!!!!! Thanks Groovy for da vid!!!!
I specialized in errors. ASW, ALW, missing tampos, fenders, etc. USUALLY if it`s a fake it does not "feel right" as soon as I inspect it. It even got down to using a 10x loop to inspect pixels on the card.
I got one that’s upside down when I was youngI took it out of the box 😕 I have another one that’s put together crooked and it’s pretty funky I also took that one out of the box 🤦🏻♀️ now I wish I would of left them because they would be worth good money
I've got a Track Ripper with the stripes missing on the hood, roof and spoiler and one normal one for comparison. I only knew about errors after watching your video.
i have a question for you pls,i watched another guys video were he bought like 7 of the same regular t-hunts(but left 1 on the pegs for someone else to find).the comments slated him calling him a scalper, what is a scalper?.
6674shorty That is not the correct use of the term 'scalper'. A scalper is somebody who takes a currently available item and re-sells it at a higher price. On that note, if you find something in the stores and you want to buy them all, that is your prerogative. Whether you buy them for yourself to hoard, to give to friends or to re-sell, they are yours to do with whatever you decide.
0:57 11 years after this video was uploaded, i learned that Matchbox cars are packaged left and Hot Wheels are packaged Right and i honestly never noticed until now.
very nice, and don't forget, in another vid of un-boxing a whole box you found the van with the miss rivatted base, i don't have error cars, just error cases,
I totally agree with what you said, It all depends on the car and what people like to collect. I have a few errors that I have collected over the years only because I like the car that's in it.
Thanks. I wouldn't necessarily buy every every nowadays either. Bent axles and cars flipped or facing the wrong way are two such categories. Happy collecting!
Just bought a Hot Wheels, from 2005, from Goodwill that has no bottom, no insides, and no wheels... it's basically just an outer shell with nothing else... not sure if it's worth much but I'm willing to bet it doesn't get found that often!
where did you find the green gallardo. i have for gallardos 1 white whit red stripes (speed machine) 2 gray whit orange stripes and 1 blue white gold stripes (same designe as the grey onces). do you sell the green galardo on KIJIJI. i am ready to pay the same amount as the speed machines which i recall was 3 or 4$.
I have an odd one I found today. R02 date code on a 76 GREENWOOD HW CONTOURED. Package is kinda beat up seal doesn’t look messed with. Is that unusual? It’s an obvious R02
A more recent example: I was looking at me and my brother's Gotta Go car, and I realized something was wrong. On a normal Gotta Go, the seat moves up and down as the car rolls; on our Gotta Go, you have to move the seat manually. I think it has the wrong set of rear wheels (Regular 5-Spoke (5SP) instead of the Modified 5-Spoke (M5SP) it's supposed to have). Of course, that's just my guess.
Im one that likes to find errors as well. If you think about it companies release millions of products with no errors but when you find one it shows that nothing is perfect.
I didn't see this in the video so I hope you don't mind me asking. I found a purple car in an box and on the cover is a mustang gt500 and at the bottom it says Mustag GT500 something something... So how much is it worth? And how kuch is it rare?
Love your videos with my son new collector here found a 64 chevy nova station wagon super, mis riveted at the front the base hangs down about 1mm after watching this video i think i will hold on to it thanks :)
You would think that the person at the factory would notice the wheels and axles missing! But guess what, every Hot Wheels release still sells, with or without wheels LOL!
As I stated in the video, it's only worth what somebody would pay. With your car being a popular release, I would think that it would be worth more than the original purchase price.
I bought a Rogue Hog in 2007 with my little borther. But when we opened the package, the left side of the car had no police decals. Not even the white part, it was just black on one side. It's funny, how that was an actual error, but since it was on the inside of the package we couldn't see it until we opened it and devalue the car's worth.
I don't really collect errors, but if I see one that looks pretty cool, I'll probably buy it (like the white HW Racing 57 Chevy I recently picked up that had all large wheels). Most of the errors I see just have messed up paint, tape or paper in the package (or in the case of a Challenger Drift Car, jammed in the back window), or messed up bases or wheels. Saw a '62 Mustang concept with large PR5s in the rear (and the correct wheels in front) a few months back, which I kind of regret passing up.
funny thing about the cars flipped over in the package because I was just at walmart and there was a hotwheels 1968 dodge charger that was upside down AND backwards in the pack right next to one that was packaged correctly
That BlackHawk is sooooooooo soooo nice!!!!! HAhAHAH now that you did this video more people will probably will look for errors LoLz! MAybe now people will finally understand why we collect em!! Maybe LoL
Today's lesson is "How much are they worth"! Only wat' sum one is willing to pay! 😂😂 thx for sharing
Lmao yep that's how it is with about everything my son ask me all the time with his trading cards and I say the same quote and he gives me that blank lost stare
Sure. At the very least he could've looked at sold comps and let us know instead of the canned answer everyone gives.
Hey, but don't go to your teacher and tell him how an error can be a potential mark-up on a product! 😂
@@manoman0 loooooolllll!!
My cousin has one with a missing door lol, only the plastic is there
Finding that piece of fabric in the package happens from time to time. People think it's a band-aid but it isn't. Your Angry Birds piece is an awesome find! If you make a video of your Errors, you can post it as a Video Response to this Error video. It won't automatically post, I have to approve it.
RaceGrooves Race through
so when i have yellow miata with piece of yellow paint stuck in the plastic box, is worth more than regular one? or it doesnt matter in this place
How old r u
Your right! Errors are only worth what someone will pay for them. A good example of that is that I saw a 2012 Super TH have a so called "major paint error" for sale on Ebay. I didn't think it was major, and the person was selling it for $175! I'm not suprised that nobody offered to buy it!

Loving those T-buckets. They remind me so much of one of my all-time favorite castings, the Hot Heap!!
I love all those rides dude rock n roll 🎸🤘
Nice assortment of errors Mark! I enjoy looking for them too. Thanks for another great video!
Since they come from maylasia and someone makes a profit even at $1.00 each , I'm not shocked that quality control is about as reliable as a plumbers estimate .

You've done it again Mark! Great job and thank you...
Great video and I completely agree.
I really enjoy your channel...great coverage on errors
Thank you for continuing to saying that it is only worth what someone is willing to give for it
Thanks for this Racegrooves. I have a few errors myself and LOVE finding and collecting them, I agree that they're only worth what the buyer will pay but the "cool factor" has to play into it. I'd love to show you the few I have but I'm a complete novice at making and posting videos. after all these years still helpful, thanks a lot
I have been collecting Hot Wheels cars (star wars and marvel) for probably 5 yrs now and i have about 100+ and i can tell you that i had NO clue that all hot wheels cars aimed to the right ... And as i look at each one, sure enough they ALL aim to the right ...

Subscribed to your channel. Love your videos. Thanks for what you do.
I just found my first Hot Wheels error, i was so exited.

I have a question I bought a Hot Wheels 70s Chevelle SS that has a bent axle does that mean is has an error or is that just something else
I was just schooled... I have been collecting for over 45yrs and I only collect what catches my eye. I never even knew about those "mistakes" that's very interesting..
another very informative vid mark..thankyou for the info....
Found a corvette c7r hw race team that had the front rivet double stamped so the front underside of the car is a bit mangled ,packaging is perfect. Interesting find.

@eatpogs I am glad to hear that you two are happy and busy :)
Collecting errors may be fun and people should do it if they enjoy it but spending a lot on them is not wise because it is so easy to open them, change things around and seal them up again with no way of telling.
Not true. The packaging will tear when you open it and you can't hide the damage when resealing.
There is a way to open the card without tearing it, search: "How to counterfeit errors" and you'll see what i mean.
ua-cam.com/video/u6boerzXMro/v-deo.html
You just have to judge the person your buying from .plus it's a lot of hard work for very little profit so can imagine there are a lot of people doing it .
bro, people use accitone to open the car and then air dry it to put it back together.
Thank you for sharing...Just found me a error Hot Wheel missing front wheels on a McLaren Elva..;)
"maybe somebody will pay an extraaa... Something" 😂
Your tone in this video is hilarious. But it's true. Awesome video brother, keep it up 👌
That would be an ALW Error (All Large Wheels). That is an awesome piece for two reasons. It is on a Treasure Hunt release and it is on a fan-favorite model! As for how Rare, it is pretty rare. I like the truck with no wheels lol. I have a big collection and thanks for the help with the 2013 treasure hunt series:)
So I just found a Miata in a Stinger branded box, and I picked up both the stinger and miata in their original packaging's.
Would they be worth anything?
i just found an error in one of my cars after watching this video
I have a matchbox de tomaso pantera with an error. The frond and rear axles were switched so now it has tiny rear wheels and huge front wheels. It’s in used contion with quite some wear. Any offers?
Is a backwards 84 pontiac grand prix the hot ones worth getting? and if so how much do you think it is worth?
It dawned on me today for some reason that your ASW dealers choice Baja Bug looked familiar to me. Turns out the one I have also has the ASW error. hi if the cars back is not drilled in properly and the whole bottom part is side ways is that an error?
it’s a ford mustang ‘07 btw
I got one that’s upside down when I was youngI took it out of the box 😕 I have another one that’s put together crooked and it’s pretty funky I also took that one out of the box 🤦🏻♀️ now I wish I would of left them because they would be worth good money
Hey Racegrooves I have a 1985 Honda city turbo 2 error where it got a silver five spoke wheel instead red disc wheel.
I've got a Track Ripper with the stripes missing on the hood, roof and spoiler and one normal one for comparison. I only knew about errors after watching your video.
Best Error I have found, a Treasure Hunt El Camino, with all uncromed wheels! pretty cool!
i have a ''hot ones'' that supposed to be a grand national but there is a amc pacer instead. kinda cool. got it at alcos before they went under
Hey Racegrooves! Not to long ago I found a Rise N Climb with no side Tampos!
pretty nice errors!!!!!!!
I have a Fast Cash with the clipper off..the clipper is also in the blister.
Micro9 it can removed or attached
Evolved Micro9 you can remove the clipper😒😒😒
Ihaveit that car
Good information to have and it helps
Treasure Hunt Errors are pretty cool!
i have a question for you pls,i watched another guys video were he bought like 7 of the same regular t-hunts(but left 1 on the pegs for someone else to find).the comments slated him calling him a scalper, what is a scalper?.

@ferrarifan9102 No-Tampo Errors are excellent finds - Congrats! Wait, it was on the left side? So did you have to open it up to find the Error?
I really like the blank stunts Blackhawk
nice info teacher mark
I totally agree with what you said, It all depends on the car and what people like to collect. I have a few errors that I have collected over the years only because I like the car that's in it.
Thanks. I wouldn't necessarily buy every every nowadays either. Bent axles and cars flipped or facing the wrong way are two such categories. Happy collecting!
+Rodney Lewis Missing windows are definitely something I would want in my Errors collecting!
great video very informative...now i really gotta look good at the hot wheels just in case i find an error...thanks
i think car with miss matched livery are one of a kind pieces
Just bought a Hot Wheels, from 2005, from Goodwill that has no bottom, no insides, and no wheels... it's basically just an outer shell with nothing else... not sure if it's worth much but I'm willing to bet it doesn't get found that often!

My brother in law has a dodge viper super treasure hunt with the bottom bolt missing so its open in the front. How much is that worth?
I have an odd one I found today. R02 date code on a 76 GREENWOOD HW CONTOURED. Package is kinda beat up seal doesn’t look messed with.
Is that unusual?
It’s an obvious R02
great video man.. i found the new batmobile with no front wheels or the axle ..sweeet deal man

Liam Casey I have a Gotta Go with some dirt in the bowl. It looks like someone forgot to flush
I've got a White Nissan gtr thats missing its windows. Is that a good one?
there's a sucker born every minute. buy smart. and you are absolutely right. great video.
Congrats on your error find =)
Im one that likes to find errors as well. If you think about it companies release millions of products with no errors but when you find one it shows that nothing is perfect.
My 1977 thunderbird has large wheels in the front and small ones on the back with over chrome on the left rear wheel, is that rare or something?
I didn't see this in the video so I hope you don't mind me asking. I found a purple car in an box and on the cover is a mustang gt500 and at the bottom it says Mustag GT500 something something... So how much is it worth? And how kuch is it rare?
Love your videos with my son new collector here found a 64 chevy nova station wagon super, mis riveted at the front the base hangs down about 1mm after watching this video i think i will hold on to it thanks :)
TheCoolinout Yup, nice keeper =) Have fun! Mark
Have you seen one without front wheels in a 5 pack? I have one if interested
Nice find but I am not interested in acquiring it.
Race grooves are the chevy Avalanche hard to find?
I don't think that the Avalanche is currently available from any of the diecast brands. Last year, Mattel had a pink version.
I have one in the blister where the rivet was pushed up through the bottom to through the base into the hood.
I just found a surfin' school bus in my closet with redline wheels. How much (theoretically) would it be worth if I sold it?
My best one is a 1977 Corvette in a 1970 Plymouth Card.
It's only worth what somebody will pay for it. But I think they were all made like that so it would not be an unusual piece.
It is neat to find errors in 20 packs I found 1 flipper and 1 windshield popped out a little
Yes, it happens from time to time where the paint gets smeared.
i saw a lotus esprit with no interior it is worth something extra?
I have a green 67 Cougar one with mismatched wheels..plus one other wheel mismatch one...a different one
You would think that the person at the factory would notice the wheels and axles missing! But guess what, every Hot Wheels release still sells, with or without wheels LOL!
That sounds like one heck of an error! Is it still in the package?
I think that Blackhawk was kind of common. I have a few of that error too.
I imagine that there are a few Dirty Outlaws that made it out without the top.
That new purple skyline, I have an error no front bumper wanna see?? Or even better you know people who might buy???
i found one packaged sideways, showing the underbody. It was a chevy monte carlo
That was a cool avalanche (no wheels).
I have a matchbox with an unspun base, which is pretty rare.
As I stated in the video, it's only worth what somebody would pay. With your car being a popular release, I would think that it would be worth more than the original purchase price.
did you see the new mystery cars yet? I picked some up last night.
The one that my cousin got side dodge caravan on it it was a ford escort
Maybe LoL
What about a misaligned clear packaging? Is that a common error?
I have a 57 convertible Corvette and it's missing the windshield. I've always wondered what it's worth.
Is it still in the package?
@MrDaleJr2011 Yes, I would agree. It would be hard me to get my buck back if I were to resell it.
@ThunderBird6619 Thanks for watching!
Only error i ever found was a nascar with the steering wheel loose. I still have it somewhere in my collection
