I was 13 y/o-------------early summer of '60, when I 1st heard " Only The Lonely" ; it was like no one else I had ever heard. Once you hear Orbison, you know that voice immediately. No one even comes close. -----------the man is amazing. ------------------WolfSky9, 74 y/o
To think I was only 7 years old when he passed. If one can take one thing from it he went out on the absolute top of his game, he was super popular again and he left us with an incredible album of new songs on brilliant memories like this.
I am a Roy Orbison man ever since around 1960 when I first heard him on the radio. Love to sing his songs Karaoke style. Been singing Roy and other artists for many years. Just can't get enough or Roy's singing. thanks, Harold
In 1965, my friends and I went to Sydney Showgrounds and Roy opened for the Stones, well we come out of that show mesmerised by Roy because when you seen people on TV they would be invariably lip sinking, the thing we kept saying was he’s as good in real life as he was on the TV and radio. The Stones were great too.🎼♥️🇦🇺
I remember listening to Roy Orbison at 13yrs. old (1956). He was just starting to record. At the time everyone was crazy about Elvis ; and rightly so. Even as a goofy kid I felt something different about Roys voice. No one sounded like him not even Elvis. I knew in my heart he was going to tear Rock and Roll up, He was truly the real King of Rock. Ive always loved his incomparable voice and songs. Who wrote or sang better?
Bonnie gorgeous love roy Bruce hit it on the head there's no more singers like roy he was so sweet humble and and very very very good. !!!! PERIOD MY FRIENDS PERIOD !!!!
Actually they can. Gerry Grant was a Roy Orbison tribute artist who met the Big O in a club in Manchester England and Roy Orbison was impressed check this out ua-cam.com/video/hwTXUqyxmdw/v-deo.html&start_radio=1&list=RDhwTXUqyxmdw and ua-cam.com/video/ddPhQ5DJ9n4/v-deo.html
Witnessing the appreciation of the great Bruce Springsteen speaking about one of his obvious heroes, Roy Orbison (whom he referenced in one of his own classic tunes "Thunder Road" long before he ever met him) .... what a treat !
How many singers be they Operatic,Blues or Pop can penetrate an audiences soul, not many from Lanza to Sinatra to Elvis to the Beatles ,the actual transcendental effect is far and few in between.Roy Oberson was one such genius with a vocal quality that could mesmerize an audience at will.his existential mind molding so to speak had his listeners at his mercy.Because coupled with true humility and charm and with a voice that seemed to come from a different galaxy, he always had his audience wanting more when he was done.
I just don't know how long ! Some have relied on what they knew some said it WASall a dream... but did they rely on what they knew or were they just skoffing about what they thought they knew? But as for YOU.. now what rhymes with You....Ahh... now let me see? My favorite rhyme center ...Oh Yes ....EMMYLOU. !!! .I DO. I just can't lie about it...I DO ! I do.... DREAM ABOUT YOU... but how long must I dream??? Need to get on down the line, and GO... would that I could see YOU at least part of the time.... but how long must I dream? SWEET DREAMS BABY!!! It's ALL now just a beautiful dream... but till I see You, it just can't be true cuz then it never will come true.... I can't lie... that just won't do..... Every now and then there's a fool such as I am over YOU.

So many people on this planet , an not even one comes close to the voice and talent of Roy Orbison
This is a valued piece of music history.
There is no other Roy, never will be.
His tone, his range, his emotion puts him at the top in my book.
Oh Lord Roy Orbison has had no formal training, and he can naturally sing like that!! what a gift....the amazing Roy Orbison!
No formal training... just blessed and in return blessed the world with his beautiful music.
Forever cherished!
He truly was the greatest singer, songwriter, and person ever!
I just adore Roy.. He was so humble and truly a legend. His speaking voice is so great to listen to. 😍😎

Really liked and valued Miss Bonnie Raitt's comment. "Love as it should be".
She's another legendary jewel from that era!
Awesome musicians
The white jacket guitar player is James Burton of the Wrecking Crew fame and Elvis Presley’s lead guitar on stage from 1970 till Elvis died
Roy looks like he's having so much fun here. I could almost swear he's chewing a piece of gum while he's singing! Am I crazy?
I think you're right. If anyone could chew gum and sing well, it would be Roy!
Better than smoking a cigarette. Which he probably would rather have been doing. His wife Barbara would not allow it.
Tragic life and great man. Still one of the best ever.

James Burton, Glen D. Hardin, Ron Tutt and Jerry Scheff the best rhythm section u can possibly get
Elvis thought so.
I totally agree!

700$ shoes...haha
2,5 ovtaves range? Dude, you gotta be joking, you know it´s 4.
Springsteen isn’t in this league, find a rock to crawl under.
That was nasty & unnecessary .
There is no need for such uncalled for snide remarks. What talent have you got compared with Springsteen?
His CV suggests otherwise
