+Yellow Productions,I have zero experience with selfie sticks so plz give me the exact details of where to buy it,its brand name and are there more than one type?
Thanks for a great video. I've recently come across your channel and what I've seen is really informative and high quality. I think you deserve more subs!
Nice review ... thumbs up 1. Can I use it to shoot panoramic "fisheye" photos like gopro one and how is the quality of photos ? 2. How to take it with a selfie stick, is there any bluetooth button or something like that ? Thanks
+Dr Abd I don't have a go pro to compare it too.. sorry. The photos are quite good. It has a 2 second timer when you press the photo button.. or you can press the button on the Samsung phone via bluetooth.
+Yellow Productions Hello and thank you so much for your presentation and review. I have a few questions for you.... I am still in limbo of purchasing this...... 1) I'm starting my own UA-cam LiveStream Channel, and i have an S7 & S7 Edge, so using those is no problem. You mentioned it comes with software, and could this be used to connect straight to PC for livestream for youtube cam? being i have so many question i was actually going to ask if we could Google Hangout (phone call, or video) 2) I do like the idea of the selfie stick and dual opposing cams, so if i am live streaming an interview from outdoors, both me and my guest are on cam at the same time!! 3) You said almost 4K.....it isn't official 4K? I have more questions, but perhaps we can start there! Thank you for your hard work in reviewing and sharing this experience. I have a DLSR? Camera and its kind big to carry around. so this just maybe my option, and I LOVE SAMSUNG!! hope to hear from you soon I subscribed to you! subscribe back if you can? and ill be having live streams soon! hi Mr Yellow, i would like to ask to how many MB a dual cam video with 60fps and 30 fps in most high res. and whats max res for dual video with 30fps and 60fps
Thank you for the great video! I am very close to purchasing one of these once they are out in the US. I have not specifically found the answer to the following: Can I control this with my LG G4? The Samsung Gear 360 Manager app is not available for my phone, which is a shame. But are there any other alternatives? And do you know if they will ever open their app up to other phones? Thanks again!
Just finished the video and see at about 13:45 that it just does not work on anything but the Samsung brand. Definitely sucks. I am not as happy with what I have seen with the LG 360 camera, and the Theta looks pretty bad compared to either. I like that I can edit once back to my computer using the Samsung software (thank you for mentioning that), but I really want to quickly share as I go. This is certainly a tough one. Again, thank you for the video, it certainly helped.
+Jeff Conklin (of GetOutsideNJ) I think the app is only officially support on the Samsung S6 and S7. Though honestly I don't use my phone all that much to control it. I do most everything direct on the camera. Only thing I use the app for is to upload to UA-cam while out and about.
Thank you for the info. My goal with one of these is to share on FB/UA-cam as we are out hiking / biking / exploring. Not having access to the files until I get back to a computer is a little frustrating. But the quality of these really kicks the butt of many other brands. Not sure if you saw my other questions on your other sample videos, but does the camera have to be 100% straight up and down when you are holding it? Does it "level" itself? I hit up some fun places like waterfalls or cliffs and would like to just hold the camera way out over whatever I am near. Having to hold it straight up, and make sure my selfie stick is angled 100% perfect would be tough... especially if I do not have a phone to view the live video before shooting. Thanks again!
Quick question.... I am wanting to use the footage from both lenses in a non 360 format.... I'm wanting to shoot car zooming and want the approach and departure angle without needing 2 GoPro's. Do you know if thats possible? Not seeing that functionality in Action Director.
+Michael Kincaid You can do it.. but not with the action director software. If you have some other video Editting software you can basically take the 360 video that Action Director produces and cut in half.. that'll essentially give you one of the cameras. Then cut out the other half to give you the other camera. The video that comes directly off the camera before it's processed is interesting too.. each camera is recorded in a separate circle. So that's easy the chop off in a video editor if you don't mind the circular video :)
how many hours this camera can record on a fully charged battery and one more question what if you use this camera on a tripod with suction cup hanging upside down will it come our straight on ur mobile device or on pc?
Not sure on max recording... I've never run out of the battery. Regarding the upside down recording... the video would be upside down then. You'd have to do something in video editting software to flip it back to right side up.
Great video to watch. First video to your channel. I was looking for a fresher course on the 360 before it's released here in the US for sale. I am going to a lot of conventions the lady few months of the year and its release is timely for me. Already I have a Gear VR along with a S7 edge. So this would make sense to keep it all homogeneous and I also have a PC that I use. I'm going to watch the video and follow up with questions inside this comment
I believe the DJI Osmo is not a 360 camera -- it's a single camera on a gyroscope that can take a 360 panorama picture, but not shoot 360 video. The Samsung Gear has two camera, one on each side that is stiched together. Did I miss something on the DJI osmo?
I think Osmo has excellent gimbal stabilizer. Make a UA-cam search looking at a comparizon between Osmo and GoPro Silver mounted on gimbal. Or between Osmo and iPhone 6s video. But if you are looking for 360 panorama, then you choose the right camera. Enjoy it.
+Michael Kincaid Yuppers! The latest premiere supports 360 video and it works with the gear 360 videos. Still have to use the Samsung software to stitch the videos though
Thanks for the reply! Actually working on editing one now within Pr! Do you have to inject with metadate....or whatever the heck it's called? I have stitched within Action Director, saved and edited that video within Pr and I am currently exporting that file from Pr to my desktop.....so, will the video be ready to go and function properly as a 360 video or do I need to use the Metadata tool?
+Michael Kincaid There's a setting some place in Premiere that you can set that it's 360.. then it'll be ready to go... But if you didn't check that box, then yes you need to run the metadata tool
+TVShinjuku I'm not really a hat wearer... So no :). Though I was thinking it'd be cool to make a Yellow Productions hat so that when I hold up the 360 camera on the selfie stick people aren't just looking at the top of my head :)
When I uploaded the images to my laptop I noticed that the software made two set of videos, one right side up and another upside down. I guess if you have this on a drone it would be beneficial. The only downside I have is that it take a long long time to process it on a laptop or desktop even with a i7 processor set to performance setting.
Yellow Productions will it work with my old galaxy s5? If not, is a phone necessary? Could I just shoot the video and then do everything with the pc app?
+Jesse Varney No.. It won't work with your S5. Yes, you can use it without the phone and do all the post production Editting stuff on your PC. And actually that's what I do most (95%) of the time. I only use the app when I want to upload a picture or something immediately to Facebook.
can anyone use the phone app to stitch and directly upload to youtube which can be recognized by youtube as a 360 VR video? (i can't ! i need to use the ActionDirector to stitch and upload to youtube then it appears as a 360 VR video)
There are many PC users reporting a problem with Gear 360 ActionDirector software. The videos and images from the camera are not being stitched. The software just produces a black screen image with sound. And Samsung continue selling these cameras with a known fault! I have been informed by Samsung to wait for a software update but they can't say when. Not good Samsung! :-(
Yeah, Gear 360 stitching is not as good as Theta S because 2 cameras are very far. Also ... Did you know that Theta S can always make the axis upside right no matter you hold it vertical or horizontal or in any orientation? Gear 360 cannot make it. You can check my channel to see what I mean.
Nice review. Too bad this camera really sucks. Returned the Gear 360 a few hours after trying it out. Stitching is terrible, and has a lot of distortion. Front and rear images do not match at all as far as the white balance and color saturation. I have a Ricoh Theta S, and it is far superior to the Gear 360. I would hope the new version is better, but it's no longer a sphere shape, which I would prefer.
When I saw the thumbnail I thought "that looks like Irvine spectrum!" Man I loved that mall when I lived back in southern California..
+Jazz This Good eye! It sure is Irvine Spectrum!
Great Vid. Really like the yellow finger pointer.
Thanks Robert! :)
Another excellent video with excellent explanations. Love them all.
Thanks Adam!

Will you do a review of the new Gear 360 2017?
I just Pre-Ordered mine today. I hope its better than the old Gear 360.
Thank you for the great video! I am very close to purchasing one of these once they are out in the US. I have not specifically found the answer to the following: Can I control this with my LG G4? Nice video bro! Cheers
Can you do live 360° videos with it? Like with UA-cam live or Facebook live.
+David Trichel I don't think it supports live 360. The stitching process takes some time in the app or PC software.
We are not to that point yet, but that will be cool when they get there. You could have a round table and scroll around to see the people talking.

thx for the video. I need to buy one of those. BTW you remind me of Michael Rapaport 😜
My pleasure! :)
Great review thank you
Can you zoom in with this camera? Wanting to record my son's football game but can't always be close...
+Brandy Van Buren No zoom on this camera
Could you provide me with the name of the selfie stick you showed. Thank you
Honestly I can't find the one I showed to tell you :). But the selfie stick I'm using with the camera now is the Revo ACP-1137 selfie stick.

How long can you continuously record before the video cuts off?
+abluegolfball 8 minutes and 26 seconds if you are recording in 4K is the maximum video length for the gear 360
Nice! Thank you for your reply. I am guessing it would be closer to 16-17 minutes if you're recording in 1080p?
Did you consider the DJI Osmo. Personally, I prefere the fish eye angle over the ultra wide angle of view.
I believe the DJI Osmo is not a 360 camera -- it's a single camera on a gyroscope that can take a 360 panorama picture, but not shoot 360 video. The Samsung Gear has two camera, one on each side that is stiched together. Did I miss something on the DJI osmo?

does the gear 360 action manger have a MAC version ?
+Nadim AL-Mallah I couldn't find a mac version. I think it's windows only.
If I mount it on a drone let's say upside down. Does it have the upside down setting similar to Gopro? THanks!
Dehner De Leon (IRRI) great question, did you find out yet?
Dehner De Leon (IRRI) great question, did you find out yet?
+Dehner De Leon (IRRI) I don't think it does... You certainly do that in Adobe Premiere or some video Editting software after
gotta find this :)
Can you edit video within Adobe Pr?
+Michael Kincaid Yuppers! The latest premiere supports 360 video and it works with the gear 360 videos. Still have to use the Samsung software to stitch the videos though

+TVShinjuku I'm not really a hat wearer... So no :). Though I was thinking it'd be cool to make a Yellow Productions hat so that when I hold up the 360 camera on the selfie stick people aren't just looking at the top of my head :)
How long can it records from both lens ?
Like for the torta and great review! Hola amigos :)
+GuS Juarez Hola amigo! :)

I can't read the wifi password from the camera... Help needed... Wts the default wifi password
got mine earlier as free from my S7 along with wireless charger.
i applied for a mobile subscription.
Mickey Mouse Unboxing!! Lol!
does it record sound?
It sure does... you can check out this video to hear what the sound recorded from the camera sounds like: ua-cam.com/video/RxvQN05tB9w/v-deo.html

Why is it blurry when i share it to FB using my edge 7?
+Ralph Fernando it's pretty crisp when I share it to Facebook. Maybe there is a setting to upload higher quality video?
Oh ok I'll mess around with it...
Thanks a lot :)
can anyone use the phone app to stitch and directly upload to youtube which can be recognized by youtube as a 360 VR video? (i can't ! i need to use the ActionDirector to stitch and upload to youtube then it appears as a 360 VR video)
+hehehks I use the phone app to stitch and upload directly to youtube. Works fine for me.
+Yellow Productions thx for ur reply. I use SONY Z5P with the cracked gear 360 app. may be thats the difference.

+Phill Round Thanks for the info.. works OK for me. I guess you could always stitch on the phone if the PC software isn't working
Will work with Hp Stream 7 Windows 10 Tablet!
So you need a samsung phone to use the camera... I guess there are more cameras to choose from.
no, it works with all phone Android or iOS...check in Google and you will find tutorials how to connect it with iPhone for example
Autumn Harmony
Thanks.
Yeah, Gear 360 stitching is not as good as Theta S because 2 cameras are very far.

Thank you for a quick response! I wish Ricoh makes new 360 camera with 4K video!

can it work with the note 4?
