Great topic again! I really agree with your thoughts on Amouage. I did not particularly fancy their latest fragrances either, it is like they are really strong with a lot of punch and that is it. Give me Beloved, Fate, Memoir, they are both strong, but also so complex and really good craftmanship. When it comes to what I am not buying, it is a lot. The last year or so I just lost interest in buying and hunting for the next, best perfume. I still sample and research, but I find I enjoy my perfume journey so much more when it does not focus so much on buying. I have nothing on my wishlist right now, I would like to sample new stuff eventually, but right now, I enjoy what I have.
Thank you so much! Beloved and Memoir are wonderful (I still have to try Fate women, but will do so next time I visit my favorite store). Good for you for not having anything on your current wishlist!
I've been feeling the same about the samples I've been trying. A lot of the recent designer bottles all have the same pleasant but not unique vibe...while the niches aren't my vibe either and need more time to be acquainted with. For now, I'm saving my money to repurchase my beautiful vintages and semi-vintages. Btw, I thought I was the only person who doesn't jive with Ambre Nuit. Thanks for not having to be apologetic for your opinions.
I definitely understand the need to not have everything. I recently went into my sample stash and removed some that didn’t move me (I went into the pile of ones that I liked). Grand Soir is wonderful and has been on my list for so long but I have yet to get it lol. Thanks for sharing 💕
Thanks, J! I'm also trying to declutter a lot of stuff from my "like" pile. There are so many that I just haven't felt like re-visiting. Glad Grand Soir worked out for you! Having different tastes is a wonderful thing.
I so love an anti-haul!!! (I'm actually posting one tomorrow😍) This was great and I enjoyed hearing about the ones that just don't have your attention anymore💕💕💕
I love you for doing this video. Just the fact that you put a disclaimer shows how important it is to have this kind of discussion in the community! I definitely need the reminder that it’s ok to not have something! I buy stuff just because it’s being discontinued! I can stop! Life will be ok! 😊
Thank you, Henna! I definitely fall into that trap of wanting something right away once I find out it will be discontinued. But yes, everything will be fine if we don't always buy everything!
I've bought so many discovery sets during the pandemic and I think there are only two or three full bottles that I would consider purchasing out of all of them. I totally agree about Erba Pura...it almost made me ill when I wore it. My nose has changed over the last year and a half. I've become so sensitive to things like ambroxan and similar molecules that they just ruin a fragrance for me now...there are many of them I will be decluttering! Great video!
Great video! I used to do these on my other channel. I don't like Erba Pura either and my travel spray of Grand Soir is all I'll ever want. I did get a 40ml of Ambre Nuit and really enjoy it still. I can't make up my mind about Crimson Rock, though. I want to get another sample.
I can say Mango Skin for me… too early to say maybe, but I am 80% sure that i won’t be getting it… i finally got Mango out of it after testing days straight 😂 but it was something that I reaaally wanted to get a FB of, but i was so relieved I only got a sample …
Great Topic Yve, sometimes my tastes change too. I still appreciate sunshine. My best amber is Ambre Sultan and Ambre Loup from Rania J. No Chanel is made for my nose! Have a good day!
Hey Yve! I feel the same way about MFK Grand Soir. I've tried quite a few ambers and that one is just too simple for me. Especially for that price! Actually I feel that way about a lot of MFKs. Great video!
I got the sample pack from Maison Margiela a while ago thinking I could finally decide to get Jazz Club (which I had smelled already and liked) and/or possibly At the Barber's or By the Fireplace (neither of which I had ever smelled). Liked Jazz Club again, and also By the Fireplace, but not enough to want to buy either one. I recently smelled Naxos, nice for sure, clearly similar to Mugler's Pure Havanne but smoother and more refined, also more intense. Yet not compelled to get it either, too sweet fragrances are not my cup of tea, don't see myself wearing it. I prefer Pure Malt to Pure Havanne to begin with. Right now waiting for a sample set from Kerosene, mostly interested in Follow, we'll see how that goes.
@Raul Saaveda - I feel the same way about Maison Margiela. I so wanted to love Jazz Club, By The Fireplace and Beachwalk but they just didn't live up to the hype.
Oh yeahhh Naxos is one that does not impress me. Maison Margiela is a wonderful brand when it comes to fashion, but I find its fragrance line to be much less impressive because it does not live up to the avant-garde clothes designs. It's a fragrance line that tries to make itself look experimental by supposedly recreating the aura of different locations, but they really just take from existing fragrances and don't add anything new to perfumery in my humble opinion.
For more complex amber fragrances, you may enjoy tango by masque milano, amber star by Xerjoff or bois d'Argent Christian Dior for a more complex amber fragrance Loving your content ❤
Great topic for a video. I tend to have houses, rather than fragrances that I am just not drawn to. Currently MFK, PDM, Creed and Tom Ford (sorry!) are on that list, though that is subject to change of course!! 😂👍🏼
I also like Grand Soir, but not enough to purchase I don’t know why. Erba Pura makes me happy but I understand where your coming from, it’s very very fruity 😂
I love this whole idea. What fragrances am I NOT purchasing!? We’d be here all day 😂 My most recent disappointments are Tom Ford’s Bitter Peach (he should’ve called it Peach Blunt) and Prada L’Homme
Thank you for your thoughts. I agree regarding FOMO, I started to realize that FOMO was motivating me to purchase fragrances - I have cut down on my purchases drastically. I've also stopped blind-buying for the most part. I would have blind-bought Erba Pura and Cruz Del Sur II, based on the rave reviews in the community (I like sweet fragrances), I am so glad I didn't buy them. I decided to get the Zerjoff sample set and, to my surprise, I found I didn't really like either of these fragrances. But, I absolutely adore Alexandria II, and I would have never given it a chance because I do not like many oud fragrances. So, sampling is essential. I always love to hear your opinions. Take care, Ginny 😘😘😘.
Thanks Ginny, I appreciate it! It's always helpful to watch different opinions on a same fragrance. I also saw a lot of hype around Erba Pura and Cruz Del Sur II.
I love anti-haul videos just as much as I love haul videos and it’s interesting to see someone else’s perspective on fragrances you like. With Enclave I’m also on the fence: I find the sweet ambery drydown to be a bit obnoxious, BUT it’s got mint and darkness at the same time (which I like) and more importantly: my partner likes it and said that this was “finally a good one”. It certainly would be a one spray fragrance which makes getting a full bottle absolutely unnecessary. Hmm, we’ll see. My anti-haul would be anything that contains Oud (real or synthetic) from now on. I’m currently in the process of giving away most of my fragrances that contain this note. I just don’t enjoy it as much as other people do 😂 and thought that I need to 🙄 as it might be just an acquired taste. I’ll never get there. Thanks for your anti-haul.
It's funny, I was actually thinking of you when I was testing it because it has mint! Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Enclave. Oud can be hit or miss for me, so I get what you're saying!
Hey it’s good to see you doing well. Amouage is a house that besides Reflection man, I just can’t find anything I really like. I appreciate what they do but they’re just not for me. Blessings to you and the fam.
FOMO is real and it's so easy to lose control. I'm probably one of the few people on the planet who hasn't smelt Grand Soir😅. I've thought about blind buying it many times, as amber is one of my favourite notes, but just didn't want the MFK pricetag. I also didn't buy Patchouli Imperial by Dior
Grand Soir is a fairly easy-to-wear amber fragrance (in that I think a lot of people who usually aren't into amber fragrances tend to enjoy it), but you're right--that price tag is just 😬😬😬
Fragrances I Will never wear again are milky perfumes: Danza lalibule Xerjoff CRUZ DEL ZUR II ( Sour milk) Lancome Lavandes Trianon ( sweet milk !) 🥲😅 These makes me feel sick ..
Very interesting list. A few of my favorites on it 😍 But that is what makes this hobby so interesting, we all have different tastes
So true, Emy! If we all liked the same thing, then this hobby would be so boring!

Love this! Your voice and videos are so relaxing and such a joy to listen to and to watch 🤍🌿✨🐛🦋
Oh this was so nice! Thank you! I find my voice to be grating when I edit my videos 😂

Thank you! Yeah Erba Pura is too much for my nose. I did a lot of sampling last year and feel similarly.
Thanks, Tara! I feel like Amouage is a house that I need at least 2 samples of before deciding how I feel
Anti-haul is brilliant!! Loving this
Thanks, Brandon!

That's interesting! I haven't tried Mango Skin but have heard how popular it is! Oh well--more room in your collection for other things, right?
Great Topic Yve, sometimes my tastes change too. I still appreciate sunshine. My best amber is Ambre Sultan and Ambre Loup from Rania J. No Chanel is made for my nose! Have a good day!
Thanks, Isa! Have a great day as well.

Thanks for the recommendations! Haven't tried Amber Star yet. Bois D'Argent didn't work out for me, but it is a beautiful fragrance.
Great topic for a video. I tend to have houses, rather than fragrances that I am just not drawn to. Currently MFK, PDM, Creed and Tom Ford (sorry!) are on that list, though that is subject to change of course!! 😂👍🏼
haha!! I definitely agree with at least 3 out of the 4 of those houses (though TF have not been impressing me lately with the more recent releases).
Dope video Yve.
Thank you Robert, I appreciate it!
I also like Grand Soir, but not enough to purchase I don’t know why. Erba Pura makes me happy but I understand where your coming from, it’s very very fruity 😂
😂 Thanks for understanding! Erba Pura is a unique fragrance, so I think it's pretty cool that quite a few folks love it!
I love this whole idea. What fragrances am I NOT purchasing!? We’d be here all day 😂 My most recent disappointments are Tom Ford’s Bitter Peach (he should’ve called it Peach Blunt) and Prada L’Homme
oh yep Bitter Peach and I do not get along! "Peach Blunt" 😂😂😂
Hello yve here watching and catching up.

This was a great video. Thanks for sharing.
thanks, I need some anti haul videos now to curb buying
Thanks, Wendy!

Thank you for stopping by! Reflection Man is a good one, I agree. Hope you're doing well!
“Money and no opinions” 😂😂😂
😂
Hate to say it but Habit Rouge edt probably won’t get a repurchase from me (if I ever even finish the bottle lol)
Oh interesting! People seem to like that one a lot.
@@yvespiderssmells9956 it’s good but it has this metallic lime rind in the opening I usually don’t want to deal with lol

Which osmanrhus perfume u r enjoying now?
Les Indémodables Cuir de Chine and Hermèssence Osmanthe Yunnan are my top 2 osmanthus fragrances.
Yikes. I resonate with that attractive person analogy. Not only in fragrances but in everyday life. Such a shame. Curse cliches!
😂

Danza lalibule
Xerjoff CRUZ DEL ZUR II ( Sour milk)
Lancome Lavandes Trianon ( sweet milk !) 🥲😅

Good to know! I have some friends who also cannot stand lactonic fragrances
Howdy hi
Howdy!
