Chevrolet Trailblazer: Add A Cabin Air Filter How-To Hack
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 тра 2020
- The later Chevy Trailblazer had the OEM Cabin Air Filter deleted by GM. All you have to do is find a door from an early model in the junkyard, cut a hole in your dash and there you go. Follow these steps to learn how - enjoy!

Nice work its nice to breathe some clean air with all the stuff going on today in 2022
Yes , thank you for making this video ,have an 07 and we spent 20 mins looking for the cabin filter behind the glove box , under the dash etc only to turn to the interwebs for some guidance and found this video . Very helpful and informative.
Thanks for making that video my wife's car has a 2002 Trailblazer and I opened up that door and there was no filter in it whatsoever a lot of debris from seeds and leaves and all sorts of stuff but it does take two filters because when I opened up mine there was none there at all so I appreciate you making a video
thank you! I thought my 2008 had one. I am glad it doesn't
Nice vid. I did this on our 07 Envoy. GM should have kept these things in, because it does help with dust, debris, and keep the ac system clean.
I like the idea of using a knife, but I used an oscillating tool for more control.
Thanks for watching!
Does your ac regularly blow out dirt and dust if you haven’t used it in a few days?
Best tool to cut with is a heated foam cutter.
Just got an 02 Envoy. It didn't have any cabin filters installed. Not sure if I should bother putting some in. Fins seem to be getting some buildup of debris so maybe it would help that? Is that the heater core? Thanks to anyone who chimes in...
Didn't kno that even existed thxs
I don't have any long term test results to report, but my heater is keeping up fine here through the cold weather with the filters in.
muchas gracias
Wonder if this is just from 2007 on or in certain models. From what I gather, most parts are the same in 02-07, but lots of things changed after that.
My 05 doesn’t have one!
Any clue where I can find one of them doors? I got a 2005 TB and definitely find it dumb to not have em!!
TG Creative makes an aftermarket 3D printed one. Give him a look, nice guy and good company.
@@RubberCityMotoring thank you! Awesome video btw 😊 definitely helped me figure that out.
@@RubberCityMotoringoh man and I just put 2 and 2 together. Rubber city. I was thinking isn’t that Akron OH. I live really close to ya! About 15 mins south. C. Fulton. Keep up the vids man!! Been really getting into doing work on my TB. Im doing as much preventative maintenance on it as much as I can. Only got 130k on my 05 LS. Them straight 6s are super reliable as long as it’s well maintained. Have a great Sunday!
@shoafymusic yes that’s is correct. Right up here in the west Akron area. Yea those 6s are no joke. Thanks for watching and best of luck with the TB.
Duct tape makes job looking for parts a thing of the past. Zip ties and duct tape. True miracles i keep on hand
Please post what year(s) and model will have used trap door cover with screw needed for the correct fit.
From my knowledge, the early Trailblazer had these only. I am not for certain though. TG Creative was 3D printing doors as well, which is a nice little option if you don't want to junk yard search.
oh...I just realised that my Chevy blazer 2008 have no cabin air filter..it us just optional.....thank you so much for wonderful tutorial....

To much air restriction.
Doesn’t seem noticeable.
Good old GM. They are always trying to same money.
Yea for sure - interesting they had the setup, then removed it.
Where did u get the door?
From somebody in our Facebook group. He gets em at the salvage yard.
@@RubberCityMotoring I’m interested in utilizing this hack as well. My TB is an industrial grade dust generator and I’m really suffering from allergies as a result. Could you point me to the Facebook group you mentioned and also provide the make & part number of the specific air filters you used in your hack. I’d really appreciate it. 🙏 🙏
TBSS Society is the group. Part number is right on the video. Best of luck!!
@@RubberCityMotoring many thanks. Hopefully I’ll be admitted to the group.
To much work and to tight of an area ... I'm 6'3'', 280 lbs.
Yea it’s a job for a cabin air filter I’ll agree.
I am looking for the cover does anyone want to sell one oor have the part# thanks
I went to the junkyard and took it off a trailblazer there.
The ones that you do find, most people looking for blower motors so the top cover is off already. 👍
This is old news, try my ported headlight hack. Better throttle response (noticeable), gas mileage (eeeeeh), and probably 1 more pony. Your welcome
I'm interested. 2009 Trailblazer SS...post the link.
Ported headlight hack? Where’s the video I’d like to see this as well
I'd like to know too. All I see is a video about loose change sound coming from the struts.
