I saw these guys doing this stuff live in concert in Lismore (New South Wales) with BLONDIE (!!!) as second act! A gig not to be forgotten. It was 1977.

Neil looking very 18 here. Geez he was really just a kid when he joined. His parents must have been relieved that his 25-year-old big brother was in London to look after him when he joined Enz over there in '77.

I really love the bass in this ... what a terrific song! Never seen Noel playing the mouth organ before either.

Nigel's bass on Dizrythmia is fucking sick, it really pounds and is nicely intricate. He never sounds this obvious again during the enz, though Dirty Creature is kinda there. He brings a bit of the heavy on the Fensters tho, it's not as pronounced or intricate, but it's still heavy. Maybe different bass, different production etc. The production on Dizrythmia is beautiful.

Also Rob Gillies noticeably fucks up after "threatening" Neil, when Neil finishes his "solo" and there's a sax bit, he goes to mime it and realises it's too late and decides otherwise. lol, not that actually miming properly is ever a thing, Mal noticeably completely leaves the drums during a drum bit.

This song is so wonderfully fidgety. That's the only description I can possibly give it.

Where is this from? It's a mime performance, obviously, but they've got the proper Dizrythmia gear on. There's a live in 77 video on here, same lineup, but it's properly live, but they've got the black and white costumes that have had plenty of use by this time. Either the proper Dizrythmia costumes weren't ready yet (Dizrythmia was released late 77) or they chose not to use them for some reason. Also interestingly, My Mistake features a whole new set of costumes, rather than the fancy Dizrythmia versions seen here that you see on the actual album cover. I'm gonna do a site about their costumes one day, lol.

Did Noel Crombie design all the costumes?

@@xero6396 Yeah all of them. He often tried to put different art styles into them, like one set is inspired by Kandinsky or something, I think it's one of the later reunion concerts. But you can see all sorts of interesting influences in what he makes.

@@artemisvega8940 Thanks. I've seen some of the later costumes from when they reformed to tour in about '06 and they look great.
