How to control a 3-phase motor with PLC & VFD | Delay program & interlock

- The PLC program interlocks the forward and reverse rotation of the motor to prevent the wrong touch of the motor's reverse rotation button. PLC and the VFD is powered on for 2s time control.

After the motor stops, it needs to wait 10s before the motor can be restarted. This is very practical in practical applications (there is a good buffer process for motor inertial motion).

Too good. 👍🏻 perfect. Excellent explanation without saying a single word.
Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very simple and straightforward,
Thank you very much.
You advise me.Hou to do training of Automation PLC ?
Good content. Useful channel ! Subscribed.

Thanks this helps a lot for my capstone project
Thank you. Why you used here stop holding ?
it is actually a three wiri control wiring on VFD where Digital input 3 should alwyas be high if DI3 is not high/ON then fwd and reverese action wont happen
I need this set for my practice.
- 3 phase motor 0.75-1.2 kw

Thank you very much, it is something that I needed really.
Woow,
that was very very informative!
Thanks a million times,
yes, I've this short question please,
@ 04:39 the VFD terminal on the left, three terminals are labeled TA/TB/TC; what are they for,
i know i should check the wiring diagram but i do not have one
I do highly appreciate your reply
Alarm output terminal of VFD.
As far as I understood you have sourcing DI and sinking DO?
A lot of people don’t realize how special vfd or it’s save money on electricity bill with its soft startup that cut out the high wattage on any ac induction until and I mean any induction device vfd should be in every house
This is a great appication, may I ask? How will the above system be applied to the plastic recycling industry? I am a senior student studying a graduation topic related to this profession
Hi I have just completed my apprenticeship In Canada I wish could practically learn from u where are u from sir ?
This video has very much useful but voice is required when it explains the logic of PLC
I want to ask a question ... have you used an ALL TIME High bit on Power oN to start timer? because i cannot see physical input to pLC.
Thank you for your insightful videos👌
Are you using a 240VAC coil relay or a 24VDC coil relay?
24VDC
ooh thanks from Turkiye. it was very useful to comprehend
Is there also a vfd for 3ph 240v input to 3ph 240v output or can I just use the 380v 3ph one on our 240 lines?
yes, this link, www.ato.com/3hp-vfd-three-phase

Thank you, nice video, I need real-time wiring connection video, please provide this.
Complete cost of this project ?
What comunication protocol use to DCS?
Hello, I am new to technology and wanting to build this demo with my students. Though we have access to 240 V and 480 V, I am wanting to modify this build for 110 V from the wall. If there is a reason not to do this, please let me know. I do not see voltages/currents specified in the video. I am trying to figure out the specs of the contactor/relays that will be necessary here. If you are using 220 V system, the voltage between L and N is 120 V, so that is the coil voltage in that case I should look for in the 3P NO contactor? I can find a VFD that is single-phase 110 V to 3-phase 220 V, and I have general purpose 220V 3 phase motors in the lab; the one I am planning to use is 5.2 A at full load. The switching power supply is no problem to obtain. The PLC I am wanting to use is an Allen Bradley 1200 MicroLogix that requires 110 V to power, so I was going to branch off from the circuit breaker to the PLC. Do you have a circuit breaker you would recommend with 6 pathways? Those MY2N relays are 24 V DC, I am assuming, can it be possible to use 8 pin DPDT relay from the ATO website for this? I am still learning as well, so please forgive any ignorance.
If you are sticking to US color code, the blue and red wire is L2 and L3 and there is 208 volts across there. Please help me get started in the correct direction.
1. It is OK for you to use your wall voltage of 110V for demonstration (this depends on your VFD input voltage);
2. Control the 24VDC relay through the output of the PLC, and then use the 24VDC relay to control the contactor KM (hazardous voltage, AC) of the main circuit; safe voltage controls hazardous voltage, which is a common practice in industrial settings. You said that you have a VFD from single-phase 110V to 3-phase 220V. Therefore, you can imitate my case and determine the coil voltage KM of the contactor as 110V. This degree of freedom is great. Of course, if your other power sources allow it, you can choose the voltage to be 24VDC, 240VAC, 208VAC...etc.
3. Your PLC uses 110V voltage, which can also be obtained from your wall voltage. But please be sure to note that your PLC output terminal is 110V? Or 24VDC? I haven't used your PLC specifications, so you can only check it yourself.
4. You can use any relay with NO and NC functions. The prerequisite is that your relay can load the contactor coil power and can open or close the control terminal of the VFD. And your relay coil voltage matches your PLC output voltage.
5. In my case, the blue and green wires are just to differentiate between live and neutral wires. There are various voltages. The voltage in your project depends on your VFD input voltage, PLC input voltage & output voltage.
You need to figure out the operating logic of this project to determine what specifications of components are beneficial to you.@@phillipdevillephysics9096
Wow, thank you for the time spent in providing this detailed answer! The PLC is 24 V logic outputs. I am still learning these devices, but your guide is very helpful. @@ATOcom
@@ATOcom Thank you. The PLC I am using has relay outputs so I can use 110 VAC or 24 VDC. This has been a tremendous project to learn on, however, I must say I am much more used to sinking inputs and sourced outputs.
What kind of PLC Model and What?
program can not see,can u give me the pdf file of ur program. Thanks advance
great video you made. Thanks alot ❤❤🎉🎉🎉
3. where does the Phase come from?
The VFD should provide the phase change for the motor. It is single phase into the VFD and three phase out for this motor.
Thank you for sharing. I would choose voice explanation to this background music
Hello, where can we get this programm?
Check out the description section for more info.
I installed the inverter with 2hp single to 3phase,motor making noise and vibration.
what should me do?
If you are buying our Inverter (VFD), please contact our after-sales team by email: www.ato.com/contactus
Vfd ke sath plc important hai kay
Motor ka spet badane ka bata vand hojata he yes ka kay karne paryaga
Can you give advice how to set up single phase motor in my house for learning purposes. I have a click plc
Yes agree. I want to know how to use a CLICK plc to control ATO vfd.
Omron plc me input ke liye kahi 0.00 aur kahi i0.00 kyon lete hai
Isi tarah output me kahi 100.00 aur kahi Q100.00 kyon lete hai
Please tell
I don't quite understand what you mean.....

I would say the old contactor phase changer is way better mode for reverse then this
That's right, sometimes such a complex video isn't needed.
Plz make a video on fatek plc for star delta connection ....
This link, ua-cam.com/video/HemYzZOMJns/v-deo.html
But, If your motor has a delta connection and the power supply voltage is 380V, the voltage will become 660V after changing to star (Y). So please protect your motor.
Thank you ...
Thank you
