Thanks John. Yeah i think its mostly just the Walthers low level El Cap. I bought two SF trains from them years ago and this is the first time most of the cars have been out of the box.The layout is super nice but i cant take any credit for it. its a club layout up in Milwaukee Wisconsin that I'm a member of. One of my other videos that I took on a friends layout, The Goose pulled 19 very heavy cars up a 1% grade with little trouble! Thanks for the comment!!!
@@DPT3001 I didn't get one myself, modelling Atsf in Arizona, she didn't venture out that far. I did pickup the Mike though, and pretty happy that. I have the later version with the box pork drivers and switching headlamp on the tender. Recently replaced the decoders in my 3800 class locos with ESU #5s, and also my 3751. What a difference! Much improved sound, far superior loco control and more lighting effects. They can start moving now on just one speedstep. Will have them in the next video with the firebox flicker, can lights, new led headlights and tender marker lamp all operational, and detailed cab interiors (painted) considering doing the same to the Mike as not so impressed with the BLI decoder in that.
Hey DPT3001 just wondering if you've had any issues with your Goose. I recently purchased one and I have two issues. The chuff doesn't start till the engine moves an inch and a half. When running the chuff will go almost off when you decrease or increase the speed.
Hey Charlie, i haven't really paid that much attention to the sound other than to adjust some of the setting down a bit. I know the chuff will get quite when I'm not adjusting speed steps and the locomotive is running, but will get loud when i do start throttling up or down. I'm also not sure when it will start going off when first starting. I copied the DCC settings from other Broadway locomotives i have. i think someone had adjusted some of these settings on them a long time ago. I feel there is a setting you can adjust with JMRI to fix the problem. Wish i could of been a little better help.
@DPT3001 DPT A friend and I figured things out. He has the Texas and Pacific 610 that had the same issues. It's just BLI's sound systems. They are a totally different beast that a Tsunami. When starting to move the injectors are blowing off before it starts to chuff. The issue with the chuff going in and out while running fast is to simulate a locomotive drifting. I solved that by changing the CV to switching mode, which improved its performance.
Great sound effects. Everything really nice.
Thank you. That's stock sound in both locomotives.
Nice lashup. I really like your stone retaining wall near the tunnel. She seems to have no trouble hauling that many cars
