I just watched a video on the Bethesda softworks channel and the update coming in May will include empty Habs and there will be a decoration mode so you can furnish the empty habs the way you want and really customize your ships
I saw that and I just downloaded the beta to play with it. Its definitely going to open up some ship building. I'm working to try to get out a video reviewing it shortly.
That was part of my inspiration behind how I build my ships. I used to build models as a kid as well (loved fighter jets). Making sure it was all laid out was part of the process back then, and I guess its in my DNA now. I do the same process if I have to put together a desk, or build a computer. To me it just makes sense.
Thanks! I think the hab layout has some interesting possibilities, with all the connecting rooms. I wanted to also put a sky bridge on the ship (using 1x1 habs with windows all around, but there were a couple problems with that idea. 1) couldn't fit the pieces in (capped on pieces, though I could take out some of the windows), and 2) we for some reason cannot create a loop with habs.... why? Who the hell knows.
@@TeamScorpioRI ahh I see. I kinda said this when I started building ships in starfield. The doors and small hab spaces make me think of vaults, but this is coming from a fallout fan boy.
@TeamScorpioRI wow really, you should totally give F4 or F3 a try. The gameplay is very similar to starfield. Honestly, when I started playing starfield, it was comforting to have the same controls and similarities. It's very comical with crude humor.
@@TeamScorpioRI - @drshoots101 is right, you should give it a try when you find some time. I'd say F4 because of the settlement building system. (But that's also a rabbit hole - because to make the most of that, mods are highly recommended... LoL)
The thing that annoys me to no end that nobody at Bethesda seems to have had the idea of us wanting to have control where the fucking connections between modules are. I can't tell you how many times I've stopped trying to make my "perfect" ship only because the game turns your ship into a fucking maze. For instance in your ship's example I would have the common area and the captain's quarters connect and not the quarters themselves be connected. That way you actually have 8 seperated guest quarters.

Great I will look for it
babe wake up TeamScorpio posted
So true 😄these videos are so addictive. The parts when all laid out reminds me so much of building models when younger. Very fun.

Nicely done!
Thank you
Oh snap I was right in my guess lol nice. And sorry for the late response. I’m in Hawaii right now s so I know it’s late
NICE!!!! Enjoy Hawaii! Soak in all those tropical vibes.
@matthewrobinett1012 - Hawaii? Nice.
(You're going to need a luxury starship. And I know just where you can get one... )
👍👍 Very cool.

Is this what it would look like if vault tech took to the skies?
Possibly. The idea was actually all based around the connected captains quarters. Once I saw that, the rest just fell into place.

I have actually never played Fallout... I've been meaning to give it a try.

Yeah, its one of my big gripes with the ship builder. There is apparently a mod out that does it, but it should be in the base game.
