ahaha with the pancake day song thing - James and Tom Fletcher wrote the Busted hit Crashed The Wedding on pancake day and there is a page in one of Tom's old lyric books from that same night where they started to write a song about pancake day but never finished. So you know, Charlie was closer than he knows to releasing a song about pancake day back in 2003 (source: Tom in the Fearne and McBusted documentary)
