Your work is amazing. I currently fly quads, and want to get my first plane / wing. Can i start with the atom rc pengin and add a djo o3 on it. I have ELRS so would like to use my radiomaster boxeer for it.
@@DirtNDrone I also saw the AtomRC Dolphin and was confused whether to use the dolphin or penguin. Goal is to use DJI o3 do some low flying cinematic and stabilize the o3 footage using gyroflow.
Nice try. Most probably we see this mode also in INAV 7. Shota Hayashi made a short YT about the VTOL tailsitter transition with the Penguin. Until then I have to fly high alphas myself in Acro and Angle mode 😅
yes but not on windy day.. i have tried it once and was able to catch it in VTOL mode. When there is so much wind, the transition to VTOL will abort and revert back to plane mode due to it's angle
It was all stock when I tried the VTOL functionality and it has enough thrust for the Vertical mode. Only downside of this model is the COG when transitioning to VTOL, a little wind will offset the COG and will make it transition back to plane mode.. But Vertical take off is not an issue only during vertical landing when transition is needed.
I need this in INAV!!!!!
I guess INAV has the tailsitter mode now but have not tried it yet
@@DirtNDrone they said it does support it, but I haven't been able to find any info about how to use it
Wow nice job and flight! Enjoyed it!!
Thanks mate. I just experiment with the tailsitter mode if I can do it on Penguin as I don't have proper place for fW landing in my place.
Thats awesome😮 you really did it brother.
Not that perfect but can be tweaked. ;)
Cool video. I’m thinking about getting a Penguin.
Thanks..I will also try the VTOL feature of INAV 7 soon and compare with Arduplane on how it works.
@@DirtNDrone that really would be cool if you could get vtol to work reliably. Opens up small fields for sure. Good luck!
so this is vtol without vtol mechanics? using the capabilities to do high alpha?
Please make a tutorial video😊😊😊
That landing was not OSHA approved my friend 🤣😂
It's KAMIKAZE approved though!!! 😂🤣

@@dronefilmsgermanyThanks mate. Penguin is more fun to fly if you are coming from quads. It is fast and agile and it is not as boring as most wings.

@@dronefilmsgermany Dolphin will give you more speed, Penguin will give you more control flying low. Both will definitely give you a fun wing to fly.

Yeah the Penguin is a great acro flyer and is tamed better on Ardupilot. It's good to see what INAV has to offer on the next version.
did you test inav 7.1? now support tailsitter
Haven't checked INAV 7.1 yet I might have to give it a try.
Can you transition back to vtol and catch it?
yes but not on windy day.. i have tried it once and was able to catch it in VTOL mode. When there is so much wind, the transition to VTOL will abort and revert back to plane mode due to it's angle
Are you using stock motors? Is there enough thrust for vtol with biblades?

@@DirtNDronewhat motor do yoy have in this video?
how to do it?
In ardupilot, but this is not a reliable feature yet due to the wing structure.
Windy?....lol....Come to the UK, Ill show you windy....It never stops blowing....🤔😳🇬🇧
UK?...lol...Come to the Philippines, wind will blow once a month only but it will move your house to the next island.... 🙄🤣🇵🇭
@@DirtNDrone I'd still swap ours for yours....😏
