Congratulations on winning! I hope you enjoyed your trip to Japan! Your video sharing your tricks has been most awe inspiring and educational, it did not make any of the costume changes less impressive at all!
The quick changes did not become less impressive after seeing the 'tricks'... only more so! The warrior quick changes look like full costumes thanks to chibi moon underneath. And the change from the main costumes to the diva dresses still baffles me! You are amazingly skilled and you both have worked so hard to perfect the skit!
Honestly, this type of quick-change seems professional level to me. I've watched behind the scenes stuff for theater before and you're using the same techniques, but on a more ambitious scale. Who else would think of doing 5 costumes inside of 3 minutes? Cosplayers! -throws hands up in disgusted admiration-
You answered the one thing that's been nagging at me-how did you manage the lovely pigtails without evil sequin snagging? The "hair socks" were such a good idea!
Those costumes are absolutely incredible and the 'tricks' make them even more impressive! Where did you get ideas for some of these? The slap bracelets are genius!!! Ariel, you are such a gifted costumer and I can't WAIT to see what you think up next! Congrats again to you & Beryl on your win!
The Serenity dress is particularly beautiful, especially for such a project. This much have been so much work! Vous avez bien méritées de gagner! Félicitations!
Theater quick changes have always fascinated me. I'm a dancer so my experience with quick changes is very different. I think my shortest one ever was around 30 seconds which seems like a lifetime compared to the near instantaneous ones you and Beryl had to accomplish haha!
For me personally, knowing how things are done actually makes it cooler. I love seeing how well-designed and -thought out things are, and knowing where things can go wrong helps me to appreciate how much is actually going right. Thanks for this video!
The number of different skills that went into this- from quick change arts to led sings to 11,000 perfectly placed beads to LOADS of RHINESTONES to WIG CHANGES all together is what makes this truly so impressive. It’s not just an incredible cosplay. It’s not just a quick change act. It’s so many things all at once, and it’s like awe-striking when compiled all together!!
Adding glitter and sequins to the outfits is exactly what they did in the Sailor Moon stage musicals, your choice to bedazzle them so they'd be extra glam onstage was right on the mark.
No less impressive at all, I'm in awe of how much work this must have taken to get to something that works. Also that moon phase motif on the Serenity dress was *absolutely* gorgeous!
The outfit under Sailormoon's school uniform looks 💯 % like it does in the anime. You did an incredible job of bringing her superhero costume to life. The apron idea is genius. 🧐 Your hair is blonde and fairly long, you could pull off her hairstyle quite well I think.
The thought process behind this was even more impressive than they show… which I didn’t think possible! What will you do with the costumes now? Do you keep them for future use, will you repurpose anything or has anyone asked to have them on display?
This video only makes me think you are a lot more magical than I ever suspected. Most people don't do the work for anything. All of this is pure magic. Thank you for sharing
These are so beautiful! I wish the Japanese Sailor Moon musicals used quick changes more. The Nogizaka46 ones used them quite a lot, and they were amazing. But most of the time, they just use doubles for transformations.
I totally love how this project turned out, we didn't see any fails so it was very successful! I love how much work and heart you've put into these costumes, it makes them feel so authentic and MAGICAL! 🌙✨💖 I hope that one day I'll be as good as you when it comes to cosplay! (I already put a lot of fairy lights into my creations to share this magical impression even though my costumes themselves are made usually last minute hahaha 😅) Sending lots of love from Poland! 💕💖✨🇵🇱 One tip that I can give from myself for others that want to achieve a little extra sparkling on costume materials - body mist with glitter can do magic and application is only seconds! (Plus a minute or two for drying 👀) You only have to check just in case if it has oils that could stain fabrics.
I love love love the embroidery you did on Serentiy's bust. The fact that it shows the cycle of the moon, just adda that little bit extra. I would love to seena video about how you did all the embroidary or the simple how to.
As a cosplayer who has worked back stage in theatre (wardrobe), you did an amazing job and yeah I totally understand having some hitches here and there but you did wonderful for so many costume changes + very detailed costumes + choreography!!
Knowing how you did it, how much thought and effort went into all of it, makes it so much more impressive. It was obvious it was a lot of work, but seeing just how much it really was changes it. I'm so impressed. You are both amazing 🖤
I always love behind the scenes videos, and understanding how the changes happen didn't take away from the magic, if anything it made it more magical! It's absolutely brilliant, and it came together fabulously!
I noticed the phase of the moon detail on the top of the bodice in your videos from the competition and absolutely loved it--I agree it, it really adds some really awesome character to the costume! This was such a cool look into the process of creating the skit and the costumes; the amount of thought put it into to problem solve was fascinating to watch. Thank you for sharing it with us!
No wonder you've won! So many sequins and rhinestones! So much effort on making the costumes and so much prep work! 💥🧠💥 Knowing how this was done doesn't make it less impressive like the disclaimer said in the beginning. I'm super impressed actually! Absolutely incredible!
You said that knowing the secret would make the changes less impressive, but I think the effect is exactly the opposite -- WOW, that was a lot of creativity and *hard* work!
The amount of work you had to put into design, making of and preparation to make this quick change costumes is awesome! This whole show looks even more magical than it did before! ❤️
Bravo!!! 1). Congratulations on winning! Y’all definitely deserved to win!!! 2). I’ve been a theatrical costumer for years and years and I give you both a standing ovation!!! You put in so much love/effort and it worked!!! 3). I love making transformation dresses. But I usually only have one or two per show. Y’all had sooooooo many! I lost count! 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 4). Not only did y’all have a dozen changes, you did it all in just a few minutes. 😲😲😲 5). VERY impressive!!!
I have to say, knowing how it's done doesn't ruin the magic at all, it just makes you appreciate the creativity and intelligent solutions that much more.
I am so grateful that you showed us all the costumes. During the stage performance, some of them are shown for such a short time, that it is really difficult to see them. I am fascinated by quick chances and you did a very good job in telling story during the quick change routine. I am so glad, that all this work payed off! Congratulations once again. You deserve the title, as these are the most amazing (and most sparkling and shiny) sailor moon costumes I have ever seen. I am sooo in love with the Serenity dress (especially the moon phases and wings).
I never thought of using magnets on accessories, fabric to keep the long hair from getting messy or having the wig as more of a helmet. That was such cool behind the scenes
This is seriously amazing! I was stunned watching your performance. Normally I am not a big fan of much glitter but it suits Sailor Moon so well and looks amazing on stage. And the costumes look even more beautiful in the close up! Especially the Princess Serenity dress, the moon phases are such a great idea. Overall I am amazed by all the creativity, I will definitley use some of these tricks on my future cosplays (the organza socks and wood glue blew my mind). Thanks for sharing this and being super humorous! :D
Had a problem at 0:24 - made me go weak at the knees which was not good as I was carry a cup of coffee - Beryl should carry a health warning - may cause heart attacks🤣 Really enjoyed this and learned a lot. It showed just how much time and effort you both put into coming up with not only the basic designs but then modifying the ideas so the quick changes would work. Two seriously talented and funny young ladies who are so full of life it's infectious! 💕
I almost stopped the video after you gave the warning ! To know the secrets at first seems exciting but then once you know , once you see you can't go back. It happened in the theater for me and ruined the enjoyment for several years after . So for several seconds I hesitated but the video was still playing and seemed ok. Ariel makes it very interesting and enjoyable and I am still in awe of her talents , artistry and dedication! Thank you for sharing with us! Thank you Beryl for your hard work too. 💖🇨🇦
Wow, definitely not less impressive after seeing the trick. I couldn't help be impressed at the magnets, snaps, hidden pockets and 11,000 bead dress! Omg such amazing work!
The detail you put in these costumes was amazing. The one that I am most appreciative of would have to be the moon phases you implemented in the princess serenity costume. I could not resist any longer and subscribed to you shortly after seeing that
I watched your costume judging video on the Cosplay World Summit channel, so impressive! I loved that moon cycle detail in Princess Serenity's dress, so creative
Not going to lie, in no way she's the explanation take away from the magic. The technical majesty, the artistic creativity, every layer only builds on how impressive the execution of the idea actually is.
I was already impressed, but seeing how well thought out the costumes are and how clever the quick-change mecanisms are.... I'm like a thousand times more impressed, which I didn't expect would be possible 🤩🤩🤩
I live for these outtakes! And thank you for revealing your secrets of quick costume changes. Knowing of how you did the changes doesn´t tooked the magic away. I´m now even more impressed by all the love and dedication you put into this project!
Seeing how they worked only makes them more impressive! You can tell how much thought and consideration went into each part of each design. So well done!!
i'm MORE impressed on seeing the secrets!! holy wow!! i'd wear the princess serenity dress all day every day if it were mine--it's completely gorgeous!!
I am stunned even more at all the tricks and how you did them!!! WOW. To say it is not impressive to understand the tricks is absolutely not true. I am even more impressed. You are both so talented and such good models to pull this off. BRAVO!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Just echoing what a lot of people had said, this video made everything SO much more impressive. Your engineering and creativity are unmatched, you had to solve so many problems and you did it so beautifully.
Absolutely amazing and a well well deserved 1st place! I went into the comments and saw so many people saying that knowing the tricks doesn't lose the magic, and I agree 100%!
This is a masterpiece. It doesn't matter from wich angle you look at It (at costum level, pattern level, details, actuation, wigs...) And I've learn A LOT with you in this video. Thanks 💙 No doubts why you EARN the first place. Congratulations!!!
That is a huge amount of work that you both did and it looks amazing. Its even more impressive to have seen how its done. The magnets are genius! Those wings are just stunning and my favourite part!

Hey I have question can I get the costume template and pattern and the modes

Agree! This is cutting edge craftwork!
That's what I said too! What an incredible effort! Brilliant stuff!
I agree!

Seeing all the aprons over eachother was actually pretty cool. This was so innovative!

The moon phases detail on that final dress is perfect

little cosplay tip for the hair to stop going into the sequins you can sew tulle over it (it makes it a bit less shiny but works well)
I literally gasped at the phases of the moon reveal. Genius!!!
These are just all amazing.
The phases of the moon in the Princess Serenity dress is brilliant and beautiful. Bravo!

That is an amazing sequence of costuming. Not a cosplayer myself but I love seeing the creativity and problem solving of making a costume work.
Seeing how they worked only makes them more impressive! You can tell how much thought and consideration went into each part of each design. So well done!!
