An Incredible Story of Adopting a Teen Out of Foster Care

Troy and Cloie Schmidt share their incredible story of adopting Lizzy out of the foster care system in South Dakota. Lizzy participated in the South Dakota I Belong Project in 2022. Because Troy and Cloie saw her I Belong Project video, they moved forward to learn more about Lizzy and eventually adopted her into their family. Adopting teens is a passion of the Troy and Cloie's and they encourage others to consider the older kids.
