Yes. I'm wondering how they'll do in the long run. While I respect and appreciate everyone's sincerity, there's the damage that has been done to the young man, his ability to love, that must be skillfully and consistently addressed. At some point I would anticipate that he would test them greatly, unless he gets help that might prevent that.

My grandfather and his siblings were all put up for adoption when they were toddlers. Their mother left the father, and he couldn't care for them, so he gave them up. His youngest brother and sister were adopted, but he and his brother(closest to his age) were never adopted. He and his brother had no choice but to join the military once they turned 18. His brother had scholarships to play football in college, but the orphanage nuns(catholic orphanage with nuns) ripped it up and refused to let him go. After he married my grandmother, they found his father and met up with him, only once. He never got to meet up with his sister or youngest brother... He had his one brother, and he was happy. All you need is one person to make a difference. I couldn't imagine how this guy went through all of that alone. So glad it worked out for him!

That's a nice, inspirational story. I was taken from my birth parents because they were abusive at a young age (in 1989) and put into the system. Foster homes back then only wanted kids because of the money that came with them from the State. Needless to say, I ended up in an orphanage from age 6 until 17 and would have been homeless if it wasn't for a friends family that I met while attending college. It's sad that I was never adopted and I wish more people would look into it.

He does have real blood family near too. I hear lot of stories of how many adopted people wish they had one real blood relive near too some how

I cant wait until I can be a foster parent. Ever since I was little I always said I wanted to adopt. Foster care didnt come along until I was much older but my plan is to be able to be an foster parent by 25-26. I want to help kids. I also want to adopt 2 maybe 3 kids when I am married. I will take on older kids and if they age out of the system they can still stay until they get out of college and get a life. Money isnt everything. People shouldnt be foster parents if they are in it for the money. These are peoples lives and anyway people can help others especially someone in need it should be done no questions asked.
