What a TERRIFIC video, Vonna! I feel as though I am sitting in your cave and learning as you show me. I SO appreciate your willingness to share your talent with those of us who love crafting. You are a natural teacher and MUCH appreciated. I can't wait to finish stitching my "April" Country Cottage Needleworks piece and try to make my very own pillow.
Thank you for another helpful tutorial Vonna. Now I know why I don't see piping on cross-stitch smalls very often; it is detailed work, but you explained it well. Thank you too for your thoughtful words, "it takes a long time to cross stitch a piece, even if it is small ...".
Dear Vonna!! ❤❤ I'm not sure where to even begin telling you just how amazingly talented you are!! 🎉🎉 I just haven't enough words to thank you for ALL OF YOUR TUTORIALS!! And videos!! Isn't technology the game changer! I too feel like I'm right in your sewing room with you learning from an expert on all things you do! I feel so blessed to have come across your videos!! I'm going to finish some of my pillows like this I love it so much! Thank you Vonna very much! I know these videos take alot of time to do & upload them for all of us!! Take care! ❤❤
MY word you are so good at this. I am learning so much and also just getting ideas. Your stuff always looks amazing. THank you for sharing this with us.
Hey Vonna, love, love, love your techniques videos. Your attention to detail and your methodicalness (hmm, maybe that isn't a word???) makes my heart go pity pat! Anyway... on your blog site you have another wonderful tutorial for framing a piece of stitch work, and I wondered, you know, in your amazing amount of free time between the hours of 3 and 4 am when you're just lazing around (smile) if you would ever consider putting on your already planet circumference long list of things to do a video of how to frame one's own cross stitch pieces??? Keep up your absolutely beautiful stitching... 💖
What a great tutorial ...Vonna, you inspire me everyday to go out of my comfort zone and learn something new! I have always wanted to do a finish like this .....however ...I think I’ll try the piping another day! 🤣...thanks so much!
You, my friend, are brilliant! This tutorial video was the best. Easy to follow and you made it look easy peasy. I always wondered how to get those piping corners square!
Vonna, I love this pillow finish! So many beautiful design elements to it! I love the look of piping. So glad you shared the importance of using bias for the cording. I have made and finished 8 of the Shepherd Bush Christmas stocking and put bias cording around all of them. I did use a larger cord, so I had to use my zipper foot to sew it, because the cording would not fit under my piping foot. I always look forward to your videos/tutorials! THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much for sharing. You make it look so easy & I know it isn't. I especially like the way you added your accent fabric & trim to the side of the stitching.
Love your tutorials. I bought the Steamfast iron and love it. So much easier than a big iron for small projects. Your water filling bottle was a great idea. Thank you for your contributions.
So pretty! Thank you for all the time you invested making this tutorial. I am a visual learner and your tutorials are the best! Blessings and take care.
If I was new doing this, I would glue baste in place the ricrac and the pink buffalo print rather than using pins. Pins are fiddly and can distort what you're trying to accomplish. That's a great idea to use a second extension table. Thank you, Vonna. Another terrific tutorial.
Vonna, thank you so much for your tutorials. I wouldn’t know where to start to make such a gorgeous pillow. I will definitely be giving it a try now. Love and blessings xx
Absolutely wonderful video. I had been admiring this finish and I do some sewing and I thought i would be able to possibly copy the finish but your instructions were so different than what I thought I would do and make much MORE sense. Thanks so much for sharing and saving me what I am sure would have been lots of frustration.
Thanks Vonna! I especially appreciate the tips on cording....something I haven't tried yet. I think I might even have a piping foot in my machine accessories!
Vonna I am LOVEING this. First you shared the "Bee Kind" pattern (so darn cute) and now you just gave me the finish I want to use it for!!!! Oh, if I can find some pretty small bee fabric I will be over the moon happy! We'll see - this is going to make the cutest pillow ever! Thank you.
This is darling! I would probably sew over my fingers (I'm pretty basic!) but I might give that piping a try because it adds a lot. I don't think you could have found cuter fabric if you could get out of the house! Thanks, Vonna!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You are so generous, sharing your talents. They say I made a pillow, I say HOW?? I'm a visual learner, so this works so well for me. You make it look so easy and all your tips and tricks are just an added bonus. You make me feel..... I can do this. All your finishing videos are so helpful. 💗💗💗😀
If you will be doing a lot of this type of finish investing in some min-Wonder clips instead of using pins is more efficient. Using a disappearing marker takes the guesswork out of placing the piping on your stitched piece. Just make sure to test it on your fabric to make sure it disappears.
Vonna, do you think you can show making a bow when the ribbon print is one sided? I know it sounds silly, but I could certainly use the visual. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your tutorials. Although I was doing things my way, your tutorials sure do make things so much easier and your voice is sooo relaxing.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Angela
Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!!!

Love the iron tip! I struggle putting water in the tiny iron☺️
