I love silk ribbon embroidery and I too love making buttons with it. My favorite thing I ever did was make my daughter a fancy wool “Sunday” coat (meaning it was really what she wore to church or any fancy event, not school) and I made a white velvet collar with some silk ribbon embroidery then made the buttons to match! I’m so addicted to making the buttons!!! ❤❤ I love how you added yours to your piece!! I wouldn’t have thought of that! So cool!!!
Perfect instructions, really liked that you leave in the real moments/lessons. I’m 99% done with the pillow and I’m about to finish it. Thanks to your great video.
Thank you for this great tudorial I use to make pillows all the time. I use to sew everything all my clothes my daughters clothes when she was little) Have not yet pulled out my sewing machine since I started cross stitching again 3 years ago. It has not been used in at least 15 years, I'm sure I'll need service. I did stitch this "Hope" so easy quick and cute.
Thanks for the tutorial Nichol! I actually slowed down the video for parts of it -- the ladder stitch for example, although hand stitching IS something I grew up doing! LOL!! I just got the crowbar out for my wallet and bought a new sewing machine! My craft room is finished, we're moving furniture in now (and by "we" I mean my husband and daughter so far, they want me out of the way for the moment!), which means we're back in our own house, I'll be stitching again and sewing and all the things! Hallelujah! Cute little pillow, love the rick rack, I definitely think the extra step to sew it onto the fabric first is worth it!
So cute. Thank you for this tutorial, I’m ready to make a pillow. I am addicted to the Lori Holt trim. I want all the colors. So glad you are back posting. I missed your Flosstube 😊
Very nice! Now that your SALs are done. It would be a wonderful time to show us some quilting!! Before we get back into stitching again......not like we're taking a break at all. lol It would take some pressure off of you, of having (or wanting) to put out a cross stitch video every week. Switch it up! Don't be so hard on yourself of having to do weekly videos. XOXO
Super cute pillow and the cross stitch! Love the pattern.. I do have a sewing machine but it may not work. It’s my mother’s sewing machine.. I do not have room to set up sewing machine… only thing I can frame it.. I need to learn how to frame it. Really really super stunning,Nichol! Just love how you make the pillows! Great job! Thank you for sharing!! 🫶🏼☺️♥️🌴Aloha…
Thank you for posting this. As many years as I’ve stitched things, I’ve never finished them in any way other than framing them. 🤦♀️ Your flosstube videos have opened a whole new world for me!
Thanks so much Nichol for this pillow finish tutorial. I’ve never used the Pellon pellets before but it doesn’t look very hard as long as you use the funnel for filling the shape. The covered buttons of tiny cross stitching are adorable and I will definitely like doing these! Happy stitching 🧵
Thank you for sharing your pillow finishing process! Back at xstitching after 25+ years & totally enjoying it. Now to finish the Rabbit & Rose and make it into its pillow!
Oh it's so cute - I love it!!! I made covered buttons years ago but not with counted cross stitch! I bought some of the kits and when I finally finish something, I'll be able to make buttons to match! Thank you so much for your tutorial - it was wonderful!
Thanks for this excellent tutorial. I am just learning to cross stitch and just finished my first piece. Now want to try and make a pillow. Such fun!! Cardmaking is taking a back seat for a little bit. Bentley’s mom
I've been hesitant to try a pillow finish because I'm not great at sewing, but might give it a try using your tutorial and some scrap fabric that I don't mind wasting if things go downhill! Love the covered buttons and I've made a few of them now. They are so cute and the perfect finishing touch. Thanks!
Thanks Nicole. I started using Pellon Pellots for my last few pillows but wasn’t sure if I was on the right track. Love the feel of the pillow with half and half stuffing. Now to start making stitched buttons. Your tutorials are so inspiring and educational. Love watching just to get your tips. Happy Easter to you and your family.😢
Fantastic video! I love your ‘finishing touch’ of using a covered button & trim. I have a stack of cross stitch pieces that needs to be finished into pillows. I like the idea of using pellon pellets for filling to give it weight. TFS.
Wonderful tutorial. I made my first cross stitched pillow yesterday and was nervous cutting the Aida and going through the process. Great tips for adding ric-rac. I would like to try that on a future pillow. Your pillow turned out so adorable and I love the button! I think I am going to need that product 😉
Thank you for showing this - I'm so scared to make a pillow and screw up what I've worked so hard on, but you make it look so easy and give me the confidence to try. I'm still working on my Hope stitch - maybe I'll get it done in time to put with my More Chocolate Bunnies by Easter ♡
Thanks for sharing your pillow finish. Finishing my stitches into a pillow has been a little intimidating for me so I just never made one. After seeing your video I feel confident that I can make one. Now I just need to get some stitches finished.
I use poly pellets as well, because I do not like mess, lol. I already knew I didn’t stuff my finishes enough (I’m always thinking it after the fact), but after watching your video, I waaaay understuff my pillows! Great video Nichol!
Love the colors on the banner. The covered buttons are such a great idea. It is the final perfect touch to the finish. Finding the perfect iron is a dilemma. I love how you give every single detail during your process. This pillow is adorable.
What brand of sewing machine are you using? I know you don’t rep for them, but curious. I have the Baby Lick Quilter’s Secret (2001). Yours looks nice. Thanks for the video! Love the pattern too.
I really enjoyed watching your video. I have subscribed to you now and have hit the notification bell! I would love to win the winter project from the Fat Quarter Shop 😊

I wonder if it is possible to die cut cross stitch fabric with a wafer thin die. Have you ever tried it?🤔
No, I haven't. I don't want to smash my stitches through the die cutting machine.
@@NicholSpohrLLC Ah yes, good point! Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Thank you so much for your tutorial! Excellent directions and an adorable little pillow♥️
Thank you!!
