Liz, your finishing tutorial is great, thank you for showing how to sew in the rickrack. For those of us who find it a bit intimidating you make it look do-able!
I love the Polly pellets! If you have to wash your pillow for whatever reason, they're behave beautifully. No one ever seems to mention them and I've consistently used them. They're great. Good tutorial! Love that rick rack stitched in!
Love the design of the cushion. Found your video very helpful. I have noticed a lot of use interfacing on the back of their projects, I never have but a few patterns lately have called for it. Eagerly waiting for an order to arrive. Never seen the pellets before. I am in New Zealand
Another wonderful tutorial, thank you! I love that cross stitch design also and the velveteen finish just makes it special. Merry Christmas to you and Rob on your first Christmas as a married couple🎄
The pillow turned out adorable! I tried ric rac on my "Hissed Off" and it didn't go so well, so I went for the pom pom trim. You make that ric rac look easy!
The tiny details really make all the difference in finished cross stitch projects. Thank you for such a detailed tutorial on pillow finishing. Well done, Elizabeth! 🎄🎄🎄

Good morning. I have never finished any of my projects, so your video held me from the beginning. Could you tell me the margins you used for all the stitching? If there is an instruction booklet for finishing cross-stitch? Thanks so much your work is beautiful.
I usually give my self a 2-3 inch margin on my fabric when I’m actually stitching and then for the pillow I trimmed my linen to a one inch margin all the way around for finishing into a pillow. I’m not sure about books on finishing but when I was teaching myself I just applied my quilting knowledge and googled and looked at others UA-cam videos!
Thanks for this, Liz! Can I ask: 1) Did you use a single strand or double strand of thread when you closed up the pillow and 2) what type of thread was it you used to close up the pillow? Thanks!

Thanks for this, Liz! Can I ask: 1) Did you use a single strand or double strand of thread when you closed up the pillow and 2) what type of thread was it you used to close up the pillow? Thanks!
I used regular sewing thread, it’s actually a cotton and steel brand thread because the color matched! I doubled over a length of thread!
Love the tutorial but not the background music. Too distracting.
