  • I have been flying a lot of these motors on my various 250 class quads over the summer and feel I can now make an informed video about their performance, prop sizes and how they survive use.
    These motors are prefect when used with props from 6030 to 6045 for 200-250 class models weighting 500-700g.
    Thanks for watching, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE!
    Happy flying!

    I installed these motors in a HM-230 frame with Rotorgeek 12A ESC's using a SeriouslyPro F3 and the performance is outstanding. Thank you for the review.

    I use 5x4,5x3 triblade props on this Motor.(schubkraft props)
    Also i use them on a Hex 3s Setup (2400mah lipo)

    another good video. thanks heaps.
    I run these on 4s with 5x4x3 dalprops. - they work well up to a point but suffer under full stick.
    If you go 2 blade, they will cope but take a few seconds to get to top speed.
    pretty good on 3s but you really notice the difference.
    price point - great
    I havent had a problem with them in 6months of crashes and bashes.
    dont compare them to some of the new dys or se emax motors - except on relative price.
    I use 20a escs just in case.
    they seem pretty good and when you compare them with other motors, unless you are racing, they are good.
    keep up the great videos

    My experience says exact the opposite that you review states.They are easy to break a shaft or loose a magnet even with light crashes.They are fine for flying around in a badger.

      I've not had a problem with the 20 motors I fly with, despite a number if crashes and abuse. Best of luck with your choice. Happy flying!

      +Painless360 Love your videos but.... Crashes and abuse? where? these quads are brand new! I cannot find one scratch! Ι believe that you must take in consideration what everyday users report!

      +Theodoros Bako nothing wrong with the review is a technical one but unless you abuse them here www.jump-jump.com/slider_images/indoor_play_area_for_kids.jpg this motors loose magnets, shaft more frequently than you brake props.

      +AndyRC As you can see I like these a lot. There are lots of choices but I've ended up with these on a lot of my 250 class..

      +AndyRC I use them cause they are cheap, and if I need to I can get more quickly through Amazon where I live, I use them on my 180 and 250 atm, but will be getting something better since I am a better flyer now.

    I had a set of eMax 1806 and to my taste they are trash though they are cheap I wouldn't buy them again, out of the box they vibrate, and they have pretty thin shafts, I busted three of them in three flights in silly crashes, the toughest motors I have had are the DYS amazing crashes and they keep going, downside of DYS are also not balanced from factory, then I stopped for middle resistance and low vibration with sunnysky it's my preferred brand now, good quality, nice strength to crashes (not as much as DYS though) and they are well balanced. Sunnysky are pretty much like cobra motors in quality.

    i know this is an old vid but i just stared using these on a mild 6s lite build just to see if would work . i have two sets of these motors that i bought last year for 25 bucks a set . been collecting dust ever since . they are 100 times better then my cheep racerstars with shit bearings . and despite what others told me they work awsome with 6s . ill even make a vid with them . dont do alot of vids but maybe i will for this .not the fastest but are smooth and more then enough with 25volts

    Nice to see a review after someone has really put these through their paces. They certainly seem like great value compared to say Sunny's, Cobra or T-Motor. I take it you're flying 3S packs? I'm guessing the 6x4 / 6x4.5 props would be too much for 12amp escs?
    I've currently got Gemfan 5X4.5 Bullnose and love them on my 3S 2204/2300 SS setup. Smooth with loads of power and still seems to have good duration.

    Banggood has these motors for 7.68 each. Can recommend a good Banggood ESC that works well with these? I already received my CC3D Atom and I am shopping for a good frame and power distribution board. Obviously this is a budget build but any advice is welcome. Thanks for your great DIY videos!!

    Can I buy 4 ccw motors to use for my quadcopter, or do you have to get two cw and two ccw motors?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 років тому

      Yes you can, the modern move to counterclockwise and clockwise Motors is just to try and make sure that if something happens the prop nut doesn't spin off and get lost in the grass.

    Are these still good motor's Today, As of summer 2017? I have Lhi, chinese 2205 2300kv's. 20a Littlebee's. run 3s 75c and 4s 45c. Need new motors. It's only 49.00 us on amazon. For these. Seem to be decent thrust, And i can run 6'' props on them. Should i get newer 2205's or 2206's. I'm really wanting these. There cheap. Seem to run on 20a esc's fine. Take 6'' props with ease. Would i be wasting my money if i went on a set of these? Thank you

      +very gonzo the genuine motors are still a great choice. I'm flying a few quads with them..

  • @NeilvanGeffen
    @NeilvanGeffen 8 років тому

    Can i suggest you try the Emax 1806 motors instead? Lighter, same price, more thrust, better efficiency and havent broken one yet either. Seems to out perform my friends identical quad but with 2204 emax motors

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 років тому

      +Ned van Geffen Review of these already queued ;) The performance is very similar but in my experience (I run both here) the 2204 have a little more torque that will support these wider prop ranges. Depends what prop your friend is running on their motors. Both are great choices for 220-330 class models.

    • @jeremybaeyensify
      @jeremybaeyensify 8 років тому

      +Painless360 on a small wing the torque isn't used in a way right? so there a 1806 would be a better choice ? since you have less weight

    No trust test? These motors look the same of the BG2204 for eachine 250 racer and are dirty cheap like less of 8 usd each. Please do a trust test on 3 and 4s with 5045 bullnose and kingkong 5040. I would also like to know if you cut the motor wires if they are enameled wires or not

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 років тому

      I assume you mean thrust test? These stats are available in other places. The model weights and prop combos covered in this video make it easy to figure out the approximate thrust I'm getting. Happy flying!

      Sorry, we've not used 4s here. You normally need to loose an inch from your prop at this size. A quick Google search found this - blog.oscarliang.net/best-prop-cobra-2204-motor/ maybe useful...

    • @asianpersuazion
      @asianpersuazion 8 років тому

      +matrixFLYER these are NOT eachine BG2204. I actually had an Eachine Racer that came with BG2204 and they are by far different than the Emax MT2204, which I replaced it with. I burned out 2 of the 4 BG2204 while the MT2204 too alot of abuse and actually handled 4s and bullnose props pretty well. if I were to build a noncompetitive quad just to throw around and still get some thrill out of, I would not get anything other than MT2204. if you're looking for performance, skip Cobras and Lumenier and go straight for the Emax RS2205. Hands down the best quad motors and the only motors I know that uses N52 magnets

    • @gusf8451
      @gusf8451 8 років тому

      Still they are programmable , and there are 4 choices for the timing, low mid mid/high and high, they are defaulted at mid, but many claim since the 2204's have 14 poles (more then the 1806's) the timing should changed to mid/high or high, I can't find a definitve answer for this though.thanks anyway :)
