    The 'no name' motors are really good for the price and perfect for the average flyer. The difference isn't enough to affect the casual flyer. Not many people fly flat-out all the time.

      Those 'no-name' motors were once sold under the brand-name Cheetah. I wish I could remember the company that sold them but they have gone out of business.
      I bought many of the Cheetah Brushless Motors and in various kV ratings over the past 7 years up until they closed their online doors not long ago. All my Cheetah brushless motors have served me and others well. The secret to longevity is NOT to overload them (amps /wattage). If you do overload any of them on a regular basis the motor will heat to a point where the windings inside the motor heat up enough to melt the insulation around the copper winding causing an internal short which always results in a catastrophic motor and quite frequently ESC fire to boot. When that happens it generally destroys the model. That applies to any electric motor so........ be careful to run brushless out-runner electric motors within their designated parameters or bad things will happen! Guaranteed!!!! In-Runner brushless motors are even more critical of high heat since there's generally insufficient cooling provided around the inside of the motor cowling. There too, bad things can and will eventually happen. Motor cooling is critical so do all that you can to provide generous amounts of cooling for both the motor and the ESC!

    There was a time when motors were so expensive that people would build their own by rewinding CD-ROM motors. You could stack several of them together for more wattage. Even $11 seems insanely cheap relative to then.

    The issue with the no brand motor(actually the brand is XXD Xinxida) and the ESC by the same manufacturer is that amp draw to produce the same amount of thrust by trusted brands is at least 2-3 times more. Thus both the ESC and the motor runs very hot. That results in burnt ESC and motors easily.
    I have burnt a few of XXD ESC. When I changed to Hobbywing ESC and XXD motor, even though the ESC runs less hot, it is still much hotter than Hobbywing ESC with Sunnysky motors. That's because the XXD motors are not efficient and rough. Thus it'll still cause your ESC to fry.
    So if you intent to use XXD, make sure the ESC is big like 50/60 amp. And the plane has low drag. If yours is a DIY from foam boards, get ready for burnt ESC and motor in no time.
    I have ditched my XXDs. Cheap yes. Not worth the risk of failed ESC in the air.

    • @martinb.770
      @martinb.770 Рік тому +4

      If only the ESC gets hot, it might use FETs with high resistance, but if BOTH, the ESC + motor get hot, the ESC uses some bad timing and/or wrong frequency for the motor, or simply: you are using the wrong combination of motor+propeller for the speed profile of the plane.

      @@emily36130 Thrust at zero speed is some indicator, but at flight speed, thrust and efficiency is another thing, that's why you choose the RPM + prop parameters according the the speed profile of the plane (soaring, motor flight, 3D), and may have a look on the telemetry data (Watt, speed, RPM, temperatures of motor and ESC) to optimize the exacr choice.

      Wrong.
      If you want to compare the efficiency of the engines, you must compare them by making them both rotate at the same rpm, generating the same thrust.

    • @ericwillis777
      @ericwillis777 Рік тому +5

      Thrust is all up to the prop and the RPM, RPM is a function of the KV, the ability to handle the wattage depends on the weight of the motor and the cooling - the difference between cheap motors and expensive ones is the bearings, and the case and rotor design, purity of the copper windings, and weight. Personally I prefer heavier motors, and lower KV for a larger prop, which is easier on the bearings. A bigger motor won't get so hot at the same wattage. Pay your money, take your choice.

  • @hifinsword
    @hifinsword Рік тому +42

    The EMax was better. But it wasn't almost 3 times better based on the almost 3 times more price. The question I would ask is will it last 3 times longer than the no-name brand. I would also look at the weight. Is the EMax heavier? It looks to be. Would I need more weight or less weight for a specific model setup? It's not always about what is the cheapest upfront cost!

      Pil gerçekten bu günlerde türkiyede çok sıkıntı. Eğer yeterli bilginiz ve beceriniz varsa kaliteli 18650 lion pillerden kendiniz batarya yapabilirsiniz, bunun dışında türkiye içinde uygun fiyata pil almanın yolu yok sanırım. Ben hala yıllar önce hobbyking'den aldığım pilleri kullanıyorum, toplu sipariş verince ucuza geliyordu. Dolar 4 tl civarıydı ve gümrük vergisi %20 - %0 arasıydı. Ne günlere düştük. Küçücük uçakta kullanılan 2s 300-400 mah piller 200 tl üzerinde. 2 yıl önce hobbyking'de indirimde 4 tanesini 8 dolara almıştım...

      Eğer deniz gibi tuzlu su ortamı için düşünüyorsan kesinlikle hata olur. Kısa sürede motorlar korozyon/pas ile kullanılmaz hale gelir. Ve tuzlu suyun iletkenliği nedeniyle kısa devre gibi sorunlar da yaşanır. Göl, havuz gibi tatlı su ortamların da ise bir süre çalışacaktır ama uzun kullanımlarda yine sorun yaşanabilir. Su ve elektrik ikilisi birbirini sevmez. Bir şekilde yalıtımlı ortam oluşturmak gereklidir. İstisna olarak düşük akım ile çalışan küçük pil motorları tatlı su içerisinde kullanıldığında ve kullanım sonrası temizlenip kurutulduğunda zarar görmüyor ama bu sadece çok düşük akım ile çalışan küçük fırçalı motorlar için geçerlidir.

    По сути дела дешёвый двигатель обсолютно такой же как брендовый, если сравнивать их тягу и потребляемую мощность, отличия могут быть в силе магнитов, что может повлиять на крутящий момент, но здесь не этот случай, остаётся лишь разница в качестве подшипников и балансировке.
    Если сравнивать эти двигатели с двигателем 50/10, то при той же тяги 50/10 потребляет на 10% меньше энергии, а связано это с тем, что за счёт большего рычага, двигатель 50/10 имеет больший диапазон эффективного режима работы, в том числе на высоких оборотах.

    • @garrypotter5323
      @garrypotter5323 Рік тому

      ну ещё разница может быть в сечении проводов, намотке... А так Noname в принципе по эффективности даже превосходит бренд. Ещё бы тест на износ был. Но думаю и здесь noname проходит не сильно меньше бренда. На днях как раз абсолютно такой же пришёл))) Естественно у движков с большим диаметром будет болшьший момент. Но опять же будут уступать по скорости, тут какой конфиг важнее. большой диаметр больше подойдёт вертолёту, или тихоходу с низким потреблением.

    • @Delynanol
      @Delynanol Рік тому

      @@garrypotter5323 Ну есть варианты как увеличить скорость на моторе с большим диаметром, можно перемотать его или наболтать напряжения, а можно шаг винта увеличить или длину винта, что даст и тягу больше и радиальную скорость вращения, думаю в любом случае на 50/10 можно добиться хорошей скорости с хорошей эффективностью.

  • @lost6617
    @lost6617 Рік тому

    Sadly not at all useful since the motors both operated in a completely different point in their curves, so the test results have no meaning, if voltages are controlled then one can compare since motor current is just related to torque and do not tell the full story.
    Furthermore it would be better if you operated both motors at for example 300g of thrust to compare their efficiency during cruise.
    Your chart kind of hints to the eBay being less efficient because it pulls 25% more current and has less than 25% more thrust, you have to include the power draw or voltage also.
