These are the most informative videos about working on the AR platform I've ever seen. Keep up the great work. I appreciate when you talk about your tools and who makes them. As a hobbyist, I'd love being able to have access to professional tools, some of course are way outside my budget, but it is nice to know the names of the companies which make them.
Another great video, thanks Chad. I'm grateful you take the time to teach us. Your channel is one of the best resources I've come across, to date, to help make my rifles as reliable as possible.
Thanks for all the knowledge that you share with us, I really appreciate it. Yesterday I followed your advice and made a container of mobile 1 grease with mobile 1 oil. I did something that your wife wouldn't approve of though, I used my kitchen blender with one paddle to mix it with. Worked perfect.
a cleaning rod chucked into a drill with a plastic or brass cleaning brush worked well for me. My wife would not have been happy about using her blender lol!!!!
Very informative video. Any chance you could make a list of the size of gauges for each specific test or a diagram of the lower receiver with those dimensions?
What is the actual minimal measurement of gap between the carrier key and the receiver? I run Vltor A5's and would like to check this. Please and thanks.
Question...if any of your tests you performed were to “fail”, what would the remedy be? Say, for instance, the take down pins didn’t match up with your measurement tool? What would you the do to “fix” that? Great videos!
@school of the american rifle : Could you share with us the diameter of the gauge you use for checking the distance between the receiver and the back of the gas key? Thanks
Really glad I watched this one, turns out the gas key on my main rifle is extremely close to hitting my lower, added 2 quarters to the back of my buffer tube and now we’re good to go
"Slave pins save lives!" Call me "cheap" but I save old drill bits or find them at garage sales to turn into slave pins. Just have to remember to anneal them first with a torch or they won't want to cut!

First part of that question should be, how much will it cost me for you to implement the skills you've acquired and knowledge you've gained doing this for many years.
@@jordansprad I’m a single 21yo with a decent job lol with what I seen on his videos I’ll pay whatever price he wants haha I know a lot about them I don’t have to tools or the time to do a full look over.
I don't use every tool or gauge in my videos. I do own a digital version as well as a certified weight set. This one is the most affordable so I show it in videos.
Hey... If no one has mentioned it this video. We appreciate sharing the knowledge.
Thanks brother.
The 'slave pin' trick for installing the fire control group is a wonderful thing.
I think LaRue gives you one if you buy an MBT trigger.
@@billstevens5277 I use the safety detent pin .
Hiperfires come with one.
@@billstevens5277 I don’t remember my MBT coming with one, atleast I didn’t see one.
Solgw lpk w/trigger comes slave pinned.

The most informative and realistic videos on youtube!!
I love you channel. So much great info.

I enjoy watching these videos thank you for the time to do these. Great Insight
Very educational video. Thanks for doing these. Hope your wife gets better soon.
Great info as always.
Took me like 30 minutes or more to install my trigger and he does it in like 45 seconds 😂
Good show mate!
Soo much insight, thank you!
I find Hoppes #9 will remove transfer marks from brass punches.
That quarter trick on the buffer is good idea
Excellent video - even to a non-shooter in the UK. Many Thanks.
Yay another video!
Drop a quarter down the buffer tube, trouble resolved.
You mentioned it as I was writing. LOL
So, basically a physical of a Mega/Zev lower, Vltor buffer system, and Schmid Tool trigger.
You get it.
Very informative video. Any chance you could make a list of the size of gauges for each specific test or a diagram of the lower receiver with those dimensions?
Where can I get these gauge sets at?? Please let me know thanks
What's the size minimum you need between your BCG gas key and back of the lower were it goes into the extension? The size of 2 quarters?
Alright, 2 quarters exactly for my spacing. Same setup
What is the manufacturer of the magazine well gauge?
Well how much does a service like this cost ? And do you sell a book for beginners for complete build like a Chilton?
That tool works better than the #2 pencil I use lol
What is the actual minimal measurement of gap between the carrier key and the receiver? I run Vltor A5's and would like to check this. Please and thanks.
In other videos he stacked two quarters to gauge the gap instead….
I hope your wife feels better
Any torque value for the grip screw, or any need for loctite there?
Will you list the tools you use please?
Question...if any of your tests you performed were to “fail”, what would the remedy be?
Say, for instance, the take down pins didn’t match up with your measurement tool?

Great videos!
Is this SOLGW Loyal 9 polymer lower receiver?
Nice video. What is it you are concerned with damaging internally that makes you use the brass drift pin?
Parts inside...what do you think is inside?
How wide should that gap be in between the buffer and bcg that you showed earlier? Or what’s the diameter of your go/no go gauge?
about 2 quarters (coins) or more
Do they do a ambi lower bolt catch the whole nine yards?🤯🔫👍🏼
Can we have a video about lapping the upper receiver from the master?
@@DTOM_1776 lol, says some rando on the internet that doesn’t know anything.
Does this lower also have the SOLGW lpk?
@school of the american rifle : Could you share with us the diameter of the gauge you use for checking the distance between the receiver and the back of the gas key? Thanks
In other videos with the same test, he has used two quarters stacked together. Same dimension, or close enough at least.
@@Capt_WFCall thank you! I would have forgotten about that👍🏼
Damn...now I gots to buy a bunch more tools.
Alternative for brass tracks, use hoppes 9 to wipe off. Save the black for boo-boos!
Do you sell any of the gages
I might polish my liberty fighting trigger a little I like it could be a little smoother
What did you mean by flush out at the end
Good Lord! How many FCG's do you think you have done?
Was hoping to see what the trigger and hammer pin holes in the lower measured out to.
👍🏻🍻
Just built a x39 10.5 AR with 1 of these receivers
Kvp 5.4oz buffer and geislle LPK
What is the spec of the gap with the gauge you made for bolt carrier/ buffer depth in to extention?
In other videos with the same test, he has used two quarters stacked together. Same dimension, or close enough at least.
Where can i get the go/no go AR15 gauges
Who else pulled the bcg out and tested they’re bolt catch spring? 😂
I will be in about 5 minutes. lol
I will be doing this tomorrow on all of them.
Ha going to also, same setup
I did, but mine failed and I see on the gas key where it hits. now to figure out how to fix it
Really glad I watched this one, turns out the gas key on my main rifle is extremely close to hitting my lower, added 2 quarters to the back of my buffer tube and now we’re good to go
Old toothbrush end is my mag catch tool for now, but that one looks nice. I needed a new tool anyway.
I use the eraser side of a pencil. No mar and good grip.

*Insert quack icon*
That's an M16 receiver pocket instead of the more common AR pocket.
What’s different about it? More room around the selector to allow for 3 positions?

Is this a “factory” built SOLGW lower or is it assembled by the owner/someone else?
Looks to be assembled. A lot of those parts are "not factory" from SOLGW. So the owner either assembled or replaced a bunch of the parts.
@@rustyshackleford8473 Doesn't SOLGW have options to choose FCD parts? I know they do work with them.

Whoop Whoop show how to stake
Is that the geissele maritime bolt catch?
no

Had no clue half of these check devices even existed. I guarantee a few of my lowers would not pass.
10:16 That is why the AR should have originally used a cassette style trigger pack, one thing th HK91 definitely has over it
Cassette packs are great until a primer falls out and goes somewhere inaccessible
