Good on you Luke....I remember you working away in your dads garage in Blayney late at night building these boxes while Ben and I were on the piss.....I’ve been following you ever since then ...you should be proud of yourself mate!
I still remember the first time I'd seen your products, you were setup at the 4wd and camping show in Adelaide with your then wife . If I hadn't have bought an air compressor already that day(bushranger maxair which cost me over $500 which is still going strong 18 years later!) I would've bought one after talking to you. I've since bought alot of products from you though and glad to be supporting a business like yours!
Now Luke, I'm in California and have been looking around UA-cam for MONTHS to find a solution to my mobile kitchen idea. After seeing your solutions, I now know there are options. I am already building mine out of aluminum as we have a supplier close to me but, i DO like the idea of incorporating wood into my design. Thank you for your story and inspiration to do my box MY WAY !! - Chris
Enjoyed that story very much. All the hard work and risk taking, paid off in the end. It was the original stepping stone, that developed into more than a successful business, with many new products. It became your lifestyle, it made you new friends and helped revolutionise the way many of us go camping today.
I remember when you made these, then started doing van fit outs And now to have your son in the team, speaks volumes for you Luke Not every father and son can work together :)
Bloody legend Luke. Congratulations on the success. seeing your workmanship from all those years ago and all your ideas in general. reminds my of my grandfather, old school workmanship, You just don't see it anywhere else. Also you should be so proud of Kaito
Reminds me of the old box desk i had in U.S. Army. Our platoon had two of them. we could stock it, and no matter where we deployed in the world, we had are office supplies. The paperwork gets done even in war time. yes, foot soldiers have to fill out paperwork too. Congratulations on 20 years.
I bought one off you and your wife at the Bathurst Show many moons ago. It must have been 20 odd years ago as your young feela wasn't on the scene. You did a bit of a custom one as my big Coleman Two Burner fuel / spirit stove wouldn't fit. You put a second drawer in. Still got it.
💕💕💕💕💕💕love, love, love the simple genius of these original kitchens. Totally agree with Buck, have been hanging for a vid of these for sooo long👌. We own a D100 Mini version ourselves (and got friends of ours onto a D200). Even D100 Mini fits a ton!! In comparison to a DCB (Carback Kitchen) it actually fits more than the DCB (tried all the same gear in both as a test)😜. Yep, simple genius👍 (a shame our mini wasn't numbered😝)
Hi Luke congratulations on reaching another mile stone. Yes you have brought up a champion of a kid mate you and your wife are very lucky. Also if i can make a sugestion for your Drifta 200 kitchen box you are on uneaven grounds what i was thinking the legs cut them shorter then add onto it a adjuster, just rought out the middle of the leg and add in a little piece of timber with a wing nut and you can adjust it acordanelly. Thanks for your videos keep up the great work mate!!
Hey Luke, Great story mate, I so happy for you, going from strength to strength, I first came across you on the net about 12 yrs ago when I was building my camp kitchen box, I still use it when I go camping. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and for the great Australian made products. "Big Thumbs up".
It’s awesome to see a video like this describing the effort and journey to making a better life for his family. I have ideas and dreams too… I’m hoping my circumstances will get better so I can pursue them :)
Never judge a book by its cover, in your case I’m spot on or close to it based partially on your story and humble background - much success and good luck 👍🍀
I need one of those bags!! With the leather straps looks very nice... Sell me that bag :) I've already got your Alubox gun case and this would add to the collection of ex-Luke used Drifta gear.
whats that bag in the background on the table?? Looks great and have been using the Drifta Travel Bag for a few months now and have been using it for heaps of work trips and even fly with it, and use a small padlock on the zips to keep my stuff safe.. Great bag and with the Toiletry bag inside it's all I need for a few days or even a week :) I've even been stopped at the baggage collection at airports when people see the Drifta logo on my bag, but the Auscam attracts too much attention at airports :) Can you do one with bigger zip tags?

Well done Luke, good to hear some background on the original Drifta product and how Drifta started. :-)
You can tell a someone is a productive maker of things when they have three Leatherman pouches on the same belt. He's like camping-equipment Batman.
