Thank you...I could not reach my Doctor before the weekend and I was not sure if he wanted me to take them together. After reading his summary it appears that he wanted me to take the two together, but I was not sure if I read it correctly. This video was clear and thorough. Thank you
yea the same happened to me my doctor didn't explain to me I was not able to reach her she just prescribed yesterday these two on different days but this video is helpful.
I was told by my VA doctor not to take them together at the same time. I take them 5-hours apart.
Dont take it together...1 tab in the morning losartan 50mg before breskfast..then 1 tab in the evening before dinner 5mg..notice if only blood raise up to 150/90 or up....

I take both of these drugs together. Prescribed by my VA doctor every day for the rest of my life. Losartan keeps my from resting well.

Can I take Amlodipine and Losartan instead of Tozam? Even if Tozam is the prescribed by the Doctor?
Is Felopidine the same as Amlopidine?
I found that taking my 25mg Felopidine after breakfast and my 100mg Losartan after dinner works for me. If I take Felopidine without food I get light headed. I was worse when I took them together in the evening.
My BP is now in the 120/75 to 140/85 range. I'm 82.
I don't take any other meds. My mindset is that a healthy diet, exercising plus remaining physically and mentally active is better than any medication (other than the BP ones). I may be proved wrong, of course.

After several years of taking 1 50m Losartan a day I had no noticeable side effects but after my BP rose too much I was given Amlodopine 10m as well and soon started having nasty itching,Diarhea,aches and pains with dizzy effects.For the last two days I took just 2x 50m Losartan and my BP at 7.15Pm was 131over64. I am 83 years of age,By the way recently I felt very tense while driving on motorways but today drove 40 miles each way feeling as relaxed as of old.As Mr Trump said,"Dont let the cure be worse than the disease"!

I was recently on Lisinopril (10mg) and Amlodipine (10mg). Doc took me off the lisinopril (thinks it may be lowering my white blood cell count) and put me on Losartan (100mg) in its place. I take the Losartan in the AM and the Amlodipine in the PM. Now my BP is 30 points higher (top number) then before. Wondering if taking both meds (Losartan and Amlodipine) at the same time each day would help?
As Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker ,and angiotensin is active at night you should take losartan at night and Amlodipine in the morning.

Hi Pam, I was on Amlodipine 10mg for a couple of years. My bp were great so we reduced it to 5mg. Now, I have CKD 2-3rd stage but stable although my urine protein is elevated. So my nephrologist put me on Losartan 25mg daily to help with the protein which could be caused by type 2 diabetes and or long term hypertension. Im just hoping it will come down for my kidneys sake. Side affects of Amlodipine is edema to the feet and legs. Ever since cutting my dose back, my swelling has gotten a lot better thank goodness. I hated that and understand how you feel.
My doctor told me yesterday amlodipine does cause swelling of the legs and feet. He said take Lazartan with it. Im.experiencing headaches tho since I added Lazartan yesterday with amlodopine.

Losartan is used more often than captopril, and usually works well.
If amlodipine is not working, why do the say still take it when adding losartan??

Calcium channel blockers cause pedal edema. Why choose a calcium channel blocker over a beta blocker which is more cardio protective ? I would choose an ARB and a beta blocker which would be a more advantageous combination in most cases..
Beta Blockers have absolutely horrible side effects!
It really depends on how severe your bp is and one works better on the systolic and another works better on the diastolic. Some protect the kidneys better, some help with protein in the urine due to hypertension and or diabetes. Talk with your doctor and let them know your concerns.
A friend of mine with kidney transplant has been using metoprolol for 30 years and he is still alive .

if you can stop there is a possible your blood raise up too high ..that cause you heart attack..its better you take it 1 tab 5mg amlodipine continuesly if your blood was too low 90/60 then reduce amlo cut it half you take it..dont stop to use if your blood is nornal..

Increasing the dose isn’t always effective enough. There are different classes that affect in different ways.

Taken together Losartan causes insomnia and they both may cause irrational behavior!
I am prescribed both drugs. I take losartan before bed because i find that it affects my muscles and i work out a lot. I take amlodipine with my breakfast. Sometimes, i don't even take them at all. :)
If you have hypertension you need these meds! Otherwise it will eventually affect your kidneys! Don’t be complacent.

I was prescribed by my Doctor of this two combined medicine. 5mg Amlodipine and 50mg Losartan. While taking daily for few months, I have been experiencing a lot of weight loss in my body. That's why I switched back to 5mg Amlodipine cos I think it's not okay to me already. Is it really happening in some patients?

i have been doing that, and i get this tinnitus for life. my ears rings continuously all the time, an irreversible condition. i dropped amlodipine more than a year ago, but the damaged was done. i won't be the same anymore.
so be careful guys. at first sign of tinnitus, stop it immediately before it's too late.

I took those 2 medicines, but I got stomach ache, and then it bloated.

I'd rather have a heart attack then dementia, alzheimers, diabetes, etc. Any vastins, aracept, lipitor, ambiem, lisinopril, metoprolol, norvasc, lotrel etc are not all that good for you. SUGAR IS THE WORST, IT IS IN EVERYTHING. Exercise is the answer.
