You will FOREVER be haunted by the friendly ghost wearing a jacket in 100 degree weather, smoking GPC 100s my friend. If you know who I’m talking about…. Keep it on the DL.
@@therealestrealistpessimistthey’re probably fucking lying to you. If you want and qualify for 17C and you tell them it’s that or nothing, they will eventually fold.
If you're an actual computer and electronics nerd, this is the job for you. As someone who's not a 35T, but who relies on them, this is a hidden gem of an MOS. This ad doesn't do it justice. "May help you get a civilian job". Very weak. More like "3-letter agencies will crawl over each other to hire you".
I consider myself generally smart, not the biggest computer wiz but my strong suit would be on the hardware side of things. My cumulative asvab was a 71. Would this mos farewell for someone like me?
@@wayy2much311 There's guys who are good at hardware and guys who are good at the server-side of intel systems. You'll need the capacity to learn both. You can't be 'just a good hardware guy'. That said, they will teach you, so as long as you feel that you CAN learn the network/server side of the MOS, you'll be fine. Also, don't get too hung up on your asvab scores. They measure your current educational aptitude levels, not how smart you are or where your talents lie. I scored at 96%, but I've met guys with lower scores who were sharper than me, or who were much better at specific things. We all have our different strengths.
@vlonerjj1787 unless the requirements have changed, you need a GT of 110 and the ability to possess a Top Secret security clearance. They waived the algebra requirement a few years back.
I’m currently at my hotel for MEPS. I took the cyber exam to qualify for 17c only to find out that it is already filled past capacity. Apparently they were unable to check availability until after I qualified. Oh well. 🤷♂️ 35t was suggested by my recruiter as an alternative and I have to say it’s looks pretty sweet. I won’t be enlisting tomorrow. I still need to do a lot of homework on this MOS to make sure it works for me and my family but I’m very encouraged from what I’ve learned so far.
One of the sergeants in this video whos name isnt shown is easily the reason I didnt reenlist. Sad to see he is now directly teaching the new recruits at Huachuca. Hopefully his mindset and attitude towards the job has changed.
I leave for MEPs in 2 Weeks, and I'm super indecisive on which MOS i want. This or 17c. Not sure if 17c is even available but I have some college and already have my comptia A+. Im also super interested in 25b but I just dont know.....
@@psycoactive1710 I’m at 35T at a FORSCOM unit. I just found it funny to state silent warrior. I also meant they picked the nerdiest looking people for the video. Just found it funny.
@@SethAKPIso you’re actually a 35t. I wanted 17c but they said no more opportunities for the rest of the fiscal year. I may pick this one instead. If what the other comment are saying about this are correct and I can still get a good chunk in knowledge and experience of software and hardware skills from this, I think I will choose this. Assuming it’s open. Fingers crossed. Also, how much of the software side do you do? Also, are there any places you know of that the mos goes to? Is it possible to be stationed overseas with this mos? Would being airborne be a detriment to this mos, or would it give me more opportunities?
Loved this job, I'm out of the military now making 140k just with this job experience and certifications. There's not a better MOS out there.

I agree with you. Will say, this one is better than the old one though. I still find the ad laughable.
