This is the best silent play through I've seen. I can tell you're good at this game but also you have the good sense to not rush and blast through a lot of the content.
I first hated this game and didn’t play it anymore because I didn’t understand the style of game play. Looked for help and this was the first video up, now I’m loving the hell out of this game and I feel like a bad ass. Thank you.
I have watched this entire playthrough, from start to end cards, 3 times now over the span of numerous sittings... this video is surprisingly comfy to watch. It even helps me sleep easier at night, when the insomnia and the nightmares from life keeps me awake. I put this on, and UA-cam remembers where exactly in the video I left off, and I sit down and just watch. Either analysing the smooth gameplay and on-the-fly decision-making, or mindlessly entranced by the ASMR-quality sound effects of the Chosen Undead's armor clattering as he walks and the hum from collecting souls. Until I feel fatigue from excitement, or dozing off from relaxation. And finally reach my own sleep - my own sun. ... Do you find that strange? Well, you should! No need to hide your reaction. I get that look all the time! Hah hah hah!
This is one of the most peaceful, happy, unexpected thing I've ever heard a human being say. I am. Extremely happy that you have found something comforting like this and something that helps you deal with your insomnia and when i read your comment i tried just watching the video normally since i always just looked at it when i was stuck playing the game to know where to go. I just watched it like you said and yes you're right...the wah this guy plays is... very comforting and warm. The way he gestures to the camera often and when he bugs out enemies. And how he doesn't sprint and just takes his time and lets us enjoy the game. It really is comforting to watch this as you said I hope you have a good life and be a happy person and hope you find more comfy things to help you sleep.
I also put this on to sleep! I'm 17 years old so I was only 5 when DS1 came out. It's my dad's favourite game and I used to fall asleep on the couch while he was playing it when I was little. Was I old enough to be seeing it? Probably not lol but it brings me peace and comfort regardless, i get sleepy just from listening to the sounds!
Wow! This playthrough has it all and loved seeing your play style evolve throughout (although your skill was amazing from the start). I was finally able to complete dark souls with some guidance after the almost decade of owning the game, thank you!
The way each area interconnects is just magic! When you meet that creepy merchant in the undead burg, you can find a ladder near him that lead back up to the Undead burgs entrance! Wow.
After all these years my love for this game has never faded and thanks to your walkthrough, skills, and your play style you have made it very enjoyable to watch. Well done Ashen One, you rekindled the fire of my memories. it is such a good nostalgia to relive again.
Only abt 6 minutes in and i love this play through i love how u take ur time to look around even tho ur a skilled player ans have probably played this many times u make it seem like its ur first time playing.im thinking if buying this game next week and ur playthrough is giving me a taste of what ill be doing ans seeing
Not gonna lie, I've been checking this gameplay to give myself a rout to finally beat this game and is been super useful. I think he really shows how to approach certain enemies and areas without the need to explain it verbally. So I'll watch before sleep and jump on the game next day with a couple objectives in mind
how much time did it take you? personally i think this game is too hard for me i cant manage to play it properly and it takes so many hits to kill a person im like level 25 and at blighttown
I have watched and followed your entire playthrough (just did the Dragon Kalameet in addition). Thank you so much, it really helped and made the entire game even more special!
I am loving your playthroughs of the Souls series. Just finished watching the Dark Souls 2 video the past few days while at work, which is the one Souls game I haven't beat, but I just got to Aldia's Keep in my run so maybe this is the time! I will say this is definitely a different pace I find more enjoyable to watch after watching and learning to speedrun this game (all bosses in just under 2 hours, I was happy with it) it's immensely more fun to play slow and explore everything. Might give this one another run through after DS2!
I just finished my replay of Dark Souls last night and it's great how well this game still holds up over a decade since its release. It has its rough edges sure, but the highs that this game hits are still so satisfying to experience. I know this was uploaded a year ago but I'm surprised you didn't go fight Black Dragon Kalameet in the DLC since you fought every other boss in the game, regardless though great playthrough!
Do daughters of Ash some day. Is a mod (and a good one!), I can't find any youtuber who upload the walkthrough without commentary, seriusly, I don't wanna hear a guy screaming WTFFFF at every detail. Great job here, I support every no commentary gameplay, and I waste my time enjoying them! You gained a sub today.
7:18:57 You just rang the bells of prophecy and set destiny in motion for the entire world! What are you going to do now!? Chosen Undead: I'm going to Disney World!
Wow! The scripted death of your first encounter with Seath the Scaleless was your only one. Yours is a very good bare-bones walkthrough. My only complaint is that you skipped Kalameet.
they would have died alot, this IS dark souls after all. they most likely just edited out their deaths which most people do sadly. personally i'd rather see them..
10:34:56! Although I'm only this far, as a DM I would've granted you the same luck right then. I'm spending part of my vacation watching you put on a clinic.
I'm kind of going through a period where I can't enjoy any music at all, even stuff I used to really enjoy. At least, nothing I can listen to while studying while not being distracted or getting a headache. This has pretty much solved my problem. Besides this I think I'd benefit similarly from gameplay of one of the classic Thief games or something like that.
Great vids, I've watched most of your FromSoftware gameplay walkthroughs (being a father a can't game as much as I used to). Curious, how many times have you played through these games before doing a video? I would guess quite a few...?
How I do my videos is that I play through a section of the game on my own first and then I replay that section and record it. Making this video was the first time I’ve actually completed this game, I’ve started a new game five or six times over the last 10 years but always stopped playing for various reasons. This is nostalgic as fuck. That pace, extreme investigation and that stuff reminds me a lot from my first playthroughs
Actually watched this whole thing over 3 days. I'm glad this exists cause I suck at this game and don't have the patience to work my way through it.

I hate how during the cutscenes you cut out the music for what I can only assume is fear of copyright. Other then that tho I really like the video!
