The question comes down to this: Is the $300 trade in worth the better battery and extra storage space? There is definitely a lot more storage on the 13 mini so that seems pretty compelling
I just got the 13 mini from an SE 2 and it’s so much better. A bit smaller in the hand, but the battery and screen is soooo worth it. Weird not having a home button, but so worth it.

Here is a extra information from the video - In the beginning the 13 mini was at 100% battery and 12mini was at 56% But by the end 13mini drained only 1% and was at 99%, on the other hand 12mini drained almost 10% and was at 46%. Seems a noticeable upgrade in battery life.
Iphone is known to 'cheat' and exaggerate the slowness of battery depletion at the top of the curve so that users aren't alarmed by a sudden drop from max charge. Think about it, you'd obviously notice a drop from 100 to 95 more than a drop from 55 to 50
Being a user of both the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 13 mini, iphone 12 mini has a more stable processor because in my iPhone 13 mini, my personal hotspot always malfunctions; it just suddenly disappears and I can't do much to recover it, while in the iPhone 12 mini, it’s really flawless and I haven’t experienced any problems while using it, and I can use my Dito SIM without facing any problems, unlike when I’m still using my iPhone 13 mini.
Went from xs max to 13 mini and I will say it’s very nice and very worth it if you want the 13 but somewhat cheaper if you don’t mind the smaller size and I’m a person who prefers big phones but the 13 mini is just perfect love the phone

Picked up the 12 Mini for $299 on black friday and weirdly enough loving it coming from an XS Max! I think if battery is concerning for most the 13 mini is a better bet, or just getting the magsafe battery pack
I picked up a 12 Mini from Walmart for $320 out the door. And I love it way better than my XS. It feels nice and light in the hands, and it doesn't weigh my pocket down and take up all of my space. I can confirm that it's not only "Straight Talk" locked. It works perfectly fine with other Tracfone owned companies. I went with Total Wireless since they had the cheapest unlimited talk & text plans. Now just for the fun of it, I did pop in a Verizon card. It does not work as expected, so don't buy this phone to use it on major carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.
I currently have the iPhone 12 Pro but recently thinking of upgrading to iPhone 13 mini. Before I got the 12 Pro, I had the SE from 2016 and I was going to get the mini but decided at the end for the Pro models. Now after 2 years I feel like I might be ready to make the switch back to the smaller for factor. I’m just being slightly indecisive about which color and possibly even how many gb, as right now I have the 256gb with about 60gb free space.
Will probably have this phone for the next 5 years (current phone is an original SE) so I think I’ll spend the extra 150ish bucks to get the 13. Thanks for the video
I got a 12 mini and its perfect for me. Im not a power user and big price jump from 12 mini to 13 mini is not worth for me. I keep the battery in 20-80 range. So that 60% lasts me like 10-14 hrs for my usage. Of which screen on time is like 3.5-5. Mostly calls, mails, youtube, WhatsApp and browsing. All of that is my usage with all the battery saving tweaks.
Tbh the battery Criticism of Iphone 12 mini is way more then how it performs , Like my iphone 12 mini gives me 7 hour of screen time in one full charge(I am relatively heavy user), and its been 2 months still my battery health didnt dropped a single percent :)

I used the automation feature in shortcuts to give me five repeated beeps when battery charges over 80 percent. So when i plug in it informs me when to unplug. To excited with this discovery so i had to share. Maybe yall know it.
I have the 12 mini and love having a small phone that actually fits in my pocket. The camera and performance are amazing. Ill stick with my 12 till it breaks. Update** Iphone is the best cellular hardware you will find anywhere. But the IOS/ software is very annoying to be honest. Is lacking so many features that even the cheapest Android phone has to make your life easier. Here are some examples: If you silent your phone you have nothing on your screen to remind you that is on silent and to flip the switch. (Cheaters probably like this). Same goes with the Alarm, you have no indicator of your alarm being on unless you open the clock app. Things like force closing and app, clearing data and uninstalling are all in the same place on Android OS, very easy and very straight forward. On IOS everything is scattered, a bunch of unnecessary stuff under settings. And the list goes on…..
ive had my 12 mini for almost 2 years now, i love it but the battery health is at 84% so imma have to get a 13 mini soon they shouldnt have discontinued it, ofc it wont sell huge if the price differnce beween a mini 13 and a regular 13 is 100 bucks.. i think the mini should be priced 200-220 bucks cheaper than the regluar version
Great video Nick, I see things from both perspectives, the average consumer, and the tech geek. The 12 mini isn’t perfect for Technology geeks like us, But it is still perfect for the average consumer. I told one of my friends to buy a 12 mini last year and they like it.
The 12 mini could definitely get brighter while outside and while watching non HDR content on Netflix and others, it's about the only real complaint I have out of it.
For me the battery on the 12 mini gets me through the day easely, i also cant reallynotice any difference in the camerapictures and my 12 mini has 128 gigs storage.
Maybe it's just me but when it comes to the battery life, most consu.ers have multiple chargers around. At home, your vehicle and probably at work as well, for those who still have to go on-site. So you have various ways to charge your phone throughout the day. While the 13 mini may have a better battery, the many chargers I have around and use, the 12 mini stays charged for me .
I am currently saving money to upgrade to an iPhone from my budget phone Vivo. 😬 I was thinking if I should go with XR since it was my first choice and I'm still saving up, buuut since my sister got the 13, I got hooked up by its camera, and now wanting to buy a 13 mini, cause I've been using big phones, and want to try a smaller ones. Not at all , I would prefer to buy the 11 since it costs the same and the cam quality is pretty descent , if u want to get a bigger phone , keep investing and buy 13 😀 XR has ios 12 and 13 has ios 15 , am happy with my iphone 12 with ios 14 , u can also try SE since u want a smaller screen , the best option but with an old home button...

I'd say, why not have both 12 mini and 13 mini? Especially if you're an iOS love and a compact phone lover? Have the 12 mini first, then after a year or so, buy a new 13 mini. Having mini both as your main and backup phone would certainly be a catch.

Apparently iPhone 13 series a15 chips get pretty hot while gaming or doing other things while a14 and a16 chips don't get really hot. So I'm planing to get the 12mini instead but really wanna get the 13 mini but Heat will annoy me and probs degrade the battery more.

There are people speculating that they may continue the SE line now refreshing the design into more modern body and they may continue the mini lineup later on. But all this is what I got from other people so take it all with grain of salt.
@@Ruarudo Hello, in the end I bought an iPhone 13 mini on 14th October 2022 wow it’s a year now. The battery life is short just like expected if I’m not doing heavy tasks like gaming it can last a whole day but every night I put it on charge and charges up very quickly with the official cable. The battery life is on 93% which is concerning but there’s not much I can do now. Games run as expected smooth but I don’t play much so not sure how hot it can get but definitely battery draining so if you plug it in it’s gonna get hotter but I don’t think it’ll be super hot. If you just use it for videos, texting calling scrolling through media it’ll do fantastic job the camera is alright got nothing to compare it to or know much bout it it gets the job done. Overall it’s a very responsive and turns on quickly from a shut off state and very happy with the small form factor not heavy as well. It’s a device that you can get for cheaper now and you can do same things with this that you could with current model tbf except the newest features. I’m happy with it.

I bought the 12 mini today .. yeah the 13 mini got better camera and whopping 200mah more battery xd (btw 200 mAh is not very much) BUT it lso cots more .. i bought the 12 mini aligjtly used for 350€ nd the 13 mini would cost at least 460€ .. so its finacially better to go with the 12 .. if you just use it to make calls texts and browse the web and yt .. and play some games on the go .. the difference in camera quality doesng matter that much.. best smartphone photo of 2023 .. was done on an iphone XS ;) …
I love the mini because I enjoy texting & like having the gps not into social apps much anymore so this is much more portable and much more comfortable to hold it has met all my simple needs and finally an iPhone sized phone I absolutely love. I don’t want a huge brick phone

Just bought the 12mini and hate it. My volume keeps changing on its own when I’m on speaker. Everyone keeps saying “I can’t hear you” which is frustrating. I don’t even want to mention the battery!!!!!

I got the 12 mini and yes it should have had a 120hz screen and a better battery so you can sure come around one day. I can last a day if not play with my phone too much but is a struggle but with my magsafe powerpack np but still a full battery for one day and the 120hz screen would be perfect. 13 mini gets 7 hours of sot, 12 mini gets 6 hours of sot. if the difference is that important to you, get the 13 mini. if it isnt, get the 12 mini.
From 100%, every iphone is degrading slower until like 90%. The 13 mini ‘s battery is better, but not that better.

If you want something classy and elegant, go for a White. But if you want something that looks elegant, but has some spice on it, then go for Red.

Games run as expected smooth but I don’t play much so not sure how hot it can get but definitely battery draining so if you plug it in it’s gonna get hotter but I don’t think it’ll be super hot.
If you just use it for videos, texting calling scrolling through media it’ll do fantastic job the camera is alright got nothing to compare it to or know much bout it it gets the job done.
Overall it’s a very responsive and turns on quickly from a shut off state and very happy with the small form factor not heavy as well.
It’s a device that you can get for cheaper now and you can do same things with this that you could with current model tbf except the newest features.
I’m happy with it.

I use the iPhone 12 mini although I have an iPhone 14 pro max. I love the pro max so much I can’t comfortably use it cause I feel like I may drop it or something so I picked up a 12 mini from eBay and I love it. Works exactly the same only smaller

Dude I feel like buying an iPhone 12 Mini in 2022 for $400 is a compete deal. I'm gonna get one this friday. My last iPhone was an XR and I've been with Pixel and Galaxy Note ever since. Im actually very excited. I already have airpods pro and I'll grab and older apple watch to go with it! I'll let y'all know how it is

I bought the 12 mini today .. yeah the 13 mini got better camera and whopping 200mah more battery xd (btw 200 mAh is not very much) BUT it lso cots more .. i bought the 12 mini aligjtly used for 350€ nd the 13 mini would cost at least 460€ .. so its finacially better to go with the 12 .. if you just use it to make calls texts and browse the web and yt .. and play some games on the go .. the difference in camera quality doesng matter that much.. best smartphone photo of 2023 .. was done on an iphone XS ;) …

I love the mini because I enjoy texting & like having the gps not into social apps much anymore so this is much more portable and much more comfortable to hold it has met all my simple needs and finally an iPhone sized phone I absolutely love. I don’t want a huge brick phone

Just bought the 12mini and hate it. My volume keeps changing on its own when I’m on speaker. Everyone keeps saying “I can’t hear you” which is frustrating. I don’t even want to mention the battery!!!!!

I got the 12 mini and yes it should have had a 120hz screen and a better battery so you can sure come around one day. I can last a day if not play with my phone too much but is a struggle but with my magsafe powerpack np but still a full battery for one day and the 120hz screen would be perfect. Wish they had made a Iphone 14 mini 😪

You’re the both best smart phones out there in the smart phone world for minis today and not to forget not to be out done is the iPhone SE those three phones are the best phones going today especially for people like me that like putting their phone in their pocket and knowing it’s there and you know it’s it’s it’s as comfy as a Wallet let’s put it that way it’s not big and bulky it fits in my hand perfectly it’s a perfect phone for me
