I Switched iPhone 13 Mini to iPhone SE in 2024. Here’s why...

- The iPhone SE is the cheapest iPhone you can buy. And as someone who loved and fully embraced the minimalism of the iPhone 13 mini, I assumed this would be the same situation. See my surprising results and more in the video.

I wish Apple releases an iPhone Mini with a bigger battery. That would be awesome lol
That's the iPhone 13 mini already. Bigger than the 12 mini, that's for sure.
Wait no more. The aftermarket 13 mini battery on Amazon has 4000mah.
@@adamthecreatorandthedestroyer that's unlikely to be the real size. The oem size is 2400mah. 4000mah wouldn't physically fit in the form size. I did find I 2600mah version which I will try in 1 month when it arrives in my home
Love the 13 mini and have been using it for the past couple of years. Can’t buy it here in Australia any more so keen to see what the 2024 SE is like. Concerned it’ll be huge like the current range so not happy.
Ya I was very confused when rumours said the next SE might be bigger. Everyone loves a small phone!
I upgraded to a 13 Mini in January this year, and I absolutely love it. It has the same footprint as my iPhone 7 which, at the time, wasn't considered "Mini".
I was able to get a mint condition 13 Mini in Product Red, with 100% battery. At the time, the Amazon Apple Store still had new ones on sale, but pink was the only colour still in stock.
I'm not a fan of full cases, and I don't want to hide the gorgeous red, so use a bumper and MagSafe grip. I've got a MagSafe battery bank that l also use as a stand to trigger Standby Mode. I use an iPad Mini too, and am impatiently waiting for its upgrade.
I was hoping Apple might use the 13 Mini frame for the next SE. If the company thinks we don't want Mini iPhones/iPads, it is VERY wrong.
Thanks for the content.
For me love the minis those are the perfect size phones
Wow, stunning video quality and spot on analysis! Thank you, you deserve so many more subscribers and views!
I use both iPhone 13 and SE, but SE has something that make me love it
You didn’t mention that the iPhone 13 mini is now discontinued, which is crucial for those who want a small phone but prefer to avoid used or refurbished options. Additionally, you can get a MagSafe-compatible case for the iPhone SE, effectively adding that functionality.
I have used the magsafe case. It charges much slower than 12/13 mini. Having said that se 3 still is better IMO.
true about magsafe case... also what seems to be a big deal for others that SE doesn't have night mode, well....there's an app for that.
I keep the home button as long as possible
Good stuff. Subbed
Super interested in this video
The 4.7 inches screen size and home button with touch ID are perfect to me
2 weeks ago, I switched from 12 mini to SE 3 got new cases too. 😊 i find it more faster to use and lighter.
Where did you get it? The se3 ofc
@@lalita_soren se3 still are on the 🍏website with the same price.
12mini are appearing time to times on refurbished section of 🍏 website. So it absolutely legal and good quality device.
On UK 🍏 website 12mini and 13mini are available now and on German website only 12mini are available. On US still unavailable but 12mini was 6-8 months ago. Probably will be back again around September or the end of the year 🤔
Coming from 14pm the se3 is surprisingly fast and the battery is about the same as the 11pro but drops less while gaming.
I like the se . It’s a good size phone for someone with small hands. A secondhand 13 mini wasn’t worth getting in my opinion. I wanted something brand new sealed so chose the se. It’s really the only phone in this size that can be brought brand new
Just buy a MagSafe compatible case and an anker 321 battery. I own both the 3rd Gen se and the 13 mini. Aside from the aspect ratio they are quite similar. And if you are with straight talk, the 3rd gen se is $150…
Nombre de la aplicación? Ese widget que tienes en tu pantalla de inicio se ve curioso.
i have the se 2022 as a backup and if i had to choose a 13 mini or se, id pick the 13 mini easily. better screen, better camera, better battery, etc. that being said, i still love the se but i hope the next design is like the 13 mini or xr at atleast.
I have had all the iPhone SE models and I loved it.
i may have to get used to it at some point down the line, but I'll probably upgrade my current SE 2 to an SE 3 within the next year (depends if the 16 proper or SE 4 ends up being).
Rumours have said the next gen SE isn’t coming this year :(
One thing id like to say is that i got my se for $120 in a pretty good conditon, while i really want a 13 mini, theyre still $300-400+ right now. So if you really want something cheap, get the se. Also i didnt realize how much i missed the home button either. Its legendary.
Just make the iphone SE bigger like the iphone 8 plus and all will be fine for a lot of people.
Bezels is false debate.
The loss of the finger print button is my deal breaker.
Can’t get used to looking at the phone notch to unlock it and many people seem not to realize the loss of the finger print button
I went from a 13 mini to SE3 due to having Pwm. I miss my 13 mini so much
Very nice video! I’m using iPhone SE 2nd gen that I bought refurbished for 149$ and I’m very happy with it. I just want to ask what’s the widget you are using in the SE! Thank you!
Thank you! Just added the link in the description. See “iPhone Widgets”.
@@VittorTechThank you, didn’t know it costs tho :(
The 3rd gen mini is really cheap compared to the iPhone 13 mini.its literally half the price I just got a 3rd gen se with full battery health and great overall condition for 150 quid, the 13 mini is 300 plus in similar condition.Plus the se has larger app icons as the screen is broader. Its a little bargain for 150.The Touch ID button is fantastic.
Love from Malaysia 🥰
by just listening to you for 5 minutes I decided to subscribe your channel
I used the 2020 iPhone SE for 5 months before I broke down and bought a used iPhone 11. I didn’t mind the actual body of the phone but I just couldn’t get used to that screen size.
0:30 How did you customize the ios icons here on the ip15? Do you have a video about that on your channel? I’d like to know ^^
its either a jailbreak or he got them fron the app store
Hey which widget are you using
Nice video 👍
Thanks 👍
I love the SE 2022 and I'm using it as a secondary phone. My primary phone is 14 Pro Max 😊
I have SE 2020 :/ it’s good phone but battery is not good. But I’m planning to upgrade for 14 Pro Max or maybe 15 Pro 😅
@@Lucifer-vx7gj I have SE 2020 before but sold it and upgraded to SE 2022. Yes the battery life sucks on SE 2020. Reason why I have an SE is because it's like an iPod Touch and having a second phone is like convenient for me in case my 14 Pro Max dies. Also I bought the SE 2022 for $300 with 256 Gb storage 😊
What’s the battery widget on the SE?
You have many cover cases with magsafe built-in, the screen size is good for what it is meant for, the rest is a matter of taste. I prefer touch id and I don't like working on ios without a button. The experience is closer to iphone 8 than iphone 6.
I bought one as soon as it appeared, and I bought the other recently and keep it in the box as a spare, I would never buy 13 mini, it's pointless
A case with magsafe built in...wonderful!! I just ordered se 3rd Gen I'm looking forward to it.
I have an iPhone SE 3 and I love it
If you use a phone like its a phone with some extra tools then the battery lasts all day, the screen size is fine, nothing feels squished, the camera does great and its an all-round great phone.
If you use your phone like it's your whole world then you'll blast through the battery, be dissatisfied with the camera and you'll want a bigger better screen so you can really be sucked into the content machine.
I've been running an iPhone 8 as my daily for a few months now and as someone who is most like the former, this phone is perfectly fine for me. In fact I prefer it over an iPhone 15 Pro Max Plus Ultra.
If you just can’t afford that much you can get an se second gen geceyseler than most iPhones like the 12 or 13 mini and its only tad slower than the 13 with the same performance as the 12 but much cheaper although you can get a 12 mini for around the same price its actually much cheaper than the 12 mini here in my country
0:58 How did you get those transparent widgets on SE ?
Using Widgy! I added a link in the description.
I had the 13 mini but switched back to the se 2022 and I love it (touch id) 🫶🏽🩷
I have a Samsung a54, would it be worth making the jump to the iPhone SE 3rd gen? or is it better to do it on the iPhone 13 mini
If you love 120hz refresh rate then go for 13 mini..because it feel quite like 120hz even it 60hz
I’d love to have the same widget on my iPhone 8, where did you find it ?
long press the home screen and once the apps are twerking ,press the top left button and choose your widget
My only issue with the iPhone SE 2022 is that it has a 2x2 MIMO antenna array while the 13 Mini has 4x4 MIMO. I prefer the home-button and thinner design of the iPhone SE3 but the connectivity issues concern me, a bit.
This is a great point!
What does MIMO mean and what are the performance differences between 2x2 and 4x4?
@@DuramaxDiesel66 Multi-Input Multi-Output. More MIMO antennas means that there's more 'highways' for data to travel on to and from your device. The SE 2022 doesn't have the capability of handling millimeter-wave (mmWave) 5G, it can only process sub-6 5G. Though mmWave isn't crucial anyway, only having two MIMO antennas does create issues, because 5G functions better when there are more lanes on the data highway for data to travel on. When I owned an iPhone SE 2022, I kept my cellular connection on 4G LTE because once 5G was enabled, I could watch the battery % drop rapidly. 5G is a power consumer on the SE 2022. Is it a deal breaker? I don't think so but I did experience call drops and interruptions during phone calls on the SE, and I don't have those issues now on an iPhone 13.
watching on the latest gen SE right now
4:12 So my 2020 SE can change the focus later, but the 2022 SE can't? 🙄
Honestly the only aspect that the SE beats 13 mini in is the fact that it has the home button
I’ll agree that I immediately remembered how great TouchID is.
never use ai to make your voice sound more clean, it makes you sound more like a ai tts, overall the video is good
Nahhh can’t agree with 4:50
LCD all the way!
Rather- the PWM in Al these darn screens now a days should be banned! Goodness how annoying it is. I wish the 13 mini was LCD I would’ve went with that easyyy
You'll never get my wife to part with her iPhone 12 Mini.
Does QI charging. Based on iP8
If mini was made with one small delicate camera instead that huge two cameras, it would be probably the best iPhone ever 😕
Ultra wide is such a gimmick like who even uses it except for landlord taking picture of their rented apartment
It’s likely the reason why even though Apple started with 1x & 2x lens, they decided to put more more useless .5 on the cheaper one. They know more people would want the zoom.
I use it a lot 🤷♂️ much more than 1x
I have a 12 pro though and the ultra wide is better than the minis
Just give me the 13 mini with the apple logo at the back as a fingerprint scanner that would be awesome. Ill spend my money on that phone
I have a 13 pro is that still good?
yeah its a great phone
@@Kornel-tc7jw thanks bro 💪🏼
What's that SE large Widget
Widget link in the description! Thanks for watching!
If you have a lil more budget, get iPhone 13 Mini than SE. Skip the 12 mini and thank me later. 13 Mini is everything what 12 Mini should’ve been. I had the SE but sold it after a month because of battery. SE is best for our parents or even grandparents. It is A really basic phone, call and messages. If u intend to use other than that, get the mini. The next gen of SE is still a mystery. I hope it’ll be based from mini and not the XR or 11.
Amen, the 12 mini is a waste
I would argue that iPhone 13 mini a waste of money, man. iPhone SE is not worth it. I am still using my good old iPhone 5s here in Czechia and it works just fine
Doubt the battery lasts
How come man ??
Yeah...im still using my nokia 3310...So worth it... battery 3 days lasting...Can throw at people...
Coz u cant just afford and u are stuck using the 5s
what? I can barely scroll through apps with it it's laggy asf. I only use it for cellular calls and texts☠️
I need this phone😢😢😢😢
Would you like to sell the 13 mini ...? Im very much interested in buying it !
Never had either, but my daughter said the mini was the worst phone she had ever used.
She’s a brat ig
Probably because it's small
I have just gone the other way round….. I have changed from a SE to a iPhone 13 Mini and find the Mini far superior and better to use than the SE… so totally disagree with you…..
Can anyone tell me what widget for battery he is using in iPhone se homes teen ?
Iphone se 2022 was outdated even when it came out
Should I upgrade from iPhone X to iPhone SE2 ?
Yes i have an xr now and i orderd a se 2
An SE2 is basically an 8. So why go from 10 to 8? An SE3 has 5G and better processor though
❤❤❤
✨👌🏻
I wouldn't buy these devices because of their size and battery
The iPhone SE is not a good buy, full stop. Dated design, LCD screen, home button, 64GB storage, 4GB RAM, no MagSafe, absolutely atrocious battery life, single camera with no night mode, you get the idea. Unless you can find it for under $200-$250 somewhere, don't buy it.
Nah man magsafe is too important to me now
I feel this.
all you need to do to get magsafe is literally get a magsafe case… that being said , if you have a option to choose the se or 13 mini, the 13 mini is the absolute better option since everything is better.
@@jonacru1178 considering I usually rock my phones caseless, this is a no for me chief.
Nah not for me man. That chin and top are just too dated.
This is exactly what I was trying to figure out: Is it usable in 2024. I expected it to be a similar experience to the mini but it was not.
To me, i see the top and bottom chins as a feature. I'd rather have a smaller phone, thumbprint sensor, and edges to grip onto if i'm holding in my hands when i rotate it (as opposed to unwanted taps or gestures on the full screen displays).
I thought that too until I got it and realized I missed the classic design. Love the Touch ID, for some reason the button makes it feel more premium to me. It’s also fun to click (I’m easily amused.)
I already know why. You want an expensive phone with terrible features and an unacceptable battery
I miss so much the Touch ID 🥹
