- Sully and Godsmack had a party in Vegas to discuss how much radio has meant to their career, the goal of releasing an album to rival Michael Jackson and his claim to 5 #1 hits on one album, and why this may be their last.

After 20+ years of touring and pumping out albums, these guys earned their stripes. They deserve a chance to slow down and enjoy life.
There's plenty of Bands that run forever and we'd love them keep rolling, but to Sully's point we don't want to be the Stones at 80. BUT there's a big difference between writing your own end rather than your ratings right it for you. How many season and sequels of NCIS, CSI Fast and Furious movies were/are there now?

But true artists never quit creating their art. A musician, true musicians, write and play, even if just gor themselves, until they die. I heard no mention of that.

And after doing it for so long, you start to feel a little burned out, and you want to just simply be a person again. Think about that please.
@@janice8925I missed the part where he said that he was going to stop writing. Just because he's not going to make new albums it doesn't mean he won't write stuff in his free time just for fun and not for profit.
Nothing wrong with doing “Greatest Hits Tour” and ride until the end, at this stage of the game. This band has already earned its prestigious status.

Godsmack will never go away, just because they have chosen to put out a final album doesn’t mean they’re done. The great thing about music is that every song can have a different meaning or impact you in a different way each time you listen to it. Godsmack has found a way for a single song to reach massive amounts of people who are all going through different struggles, triumphs, and other life changing events. Take a bow gentlemen, you have achieved more in your life times than most others can, and you have touched more people in this world than others can. This isn’t “good bye”, this is more like “I’ll see ya later”.
Sully is such a good person. I'll truly miss new music from him, but I will always appreciate what he did.
Godsmack has been a kickass band from the beginning. I absolutely love their music.
Sully and Shanon, your drumming has inspired our now 29 year old son to become a fucking monster on the drums as well. We took him to one of your shows when he was 10, you changed his life.now he plays for two bands. Can't wait to see you live again with him in Pittsburgh! Love you guys! Well they not young anymore, so it makes sense for this album to be the last, i'm grateful for all the great music throughout the years from these guys

They aren't young, but they aren't old enough to be retiring from the studio. Most bands do this when they're really old and nobody remembers them. Godsmack are still huge, everyone knows who Sully Erna is.
Doesn't mean they can't stop playing the good stuff like we pay to see, bring back the deep cuts

I got into GS in 1998. I finish work at 5:30pm. I went to a computer shop, to buy a game. Has I walk in they we’re playing moonbaby. And I thought WOW this song is amazing.
So the next day after work, I went to a record shop, which was across the road from the computer shop. I bought there first album 1 week later. And I’ve been a fan ever since 😊 Thank you GS for many years of great music and beautiful memories 🙏
Whatever got me and I believe I've been a fan here since probably around 98 or 99 as well it was just something about that song and the power in his voice and the words as a Angry Young preteen/teenager it was something to relate to and plus it just f****** rocks for always and forever🤘 and yes not to mention I have heard that album from front to back and definitely one of my all-time favorites and it's still my favorite Godsmack album always

When I first heard about this I thought it was a cop out. I've now watched two interviews with Sully about it and I completely respect what they're doing. They've given their fans 25+ years and they want to enjoy their lives. Good for them.

I love every single song Godsmack has made . They are always my go to play list . … my husband and I flew from Houston to Vegas just to see Godsmack, what a night and what a memory, can’t wait to see them here in Houston for 2023 😊
I'm fortunate enough to be from their home state of Mass. so I have seen them 8 times now and they never disappoint. I'm excited to see what else Sully is up to because he is an extremely diverse talent.

Godsmack is the reason I got into this genre of music. Whatever they want to do in their life then I'll support and I will continue to love their music
I've never been this excited for an album to release. Legends Rise was way beyond my expectations.
The first time I saw Godsmack was 1999 on the Ozzfest tour in Vancouver and I’ll see you for the second time tomorrow night in Abbotsford. Thank you for the awesome tunes and good times 🍻🎸

No matter what I've always been a Godsmack fan since the 2000s and I'll forever be a Godsmack fan forever. , it's okay if you guys are ready to retire from doing music. Sully Erna you are one of the best musicians of all time. Whatever you want to do in your life now after music do your thing man, do what makes you happy, it was nice knowing you and I enjoy listening to your music you're one hell of a talent.

My all time favorite band ever is Godsmack!!!! Ilthey have got me through some troubbling times and through searching for my true self. I will never forget Sully's, or Godsmack's in general, impact on my life. He is the sole reason my dream has always neen to be a vocalist for a band... sadly i never could find or figure out information on where/how to start but thanks to Sully i will never stop singing while doing every day things like walking to work and the occasuonal karaoke lol

I was excited about their new album, but now I'm saddened hearing this 🥺 but I do understand where they're coming from. It's also sad to hear. I think back to when my sister had an album of theirs on her birthday cake, how is it that they're already calling it quits is where my mind goes, but that was so long ago, that the fact they kept going all these years, is quite amazing and a blessing 🙏

I saw them on tour with Metallica way back in the early/mid 2000's. I love Metallica, but Godsmacks live performance that night was better. It was really something to behold.
@@jamesdjl4359 yes their live show Is something to behold. Seems like all the shows I saw. They just kept getting better. From the late 90's and up. You could see the progression from being young to more mature. But still the shows were awesome.

🌟 Sully please don't think about this being your last album. Please just take a big break and put out another album when you have a set of songs you love as you live life and come up with them. Then you can put out another album down the road. Yes we all love hearing the hits by the legends but sometimes the latest album and time zone may be the best or it is just as great and keeps is all going. My boyfriend and I are from Long Beach, California and they were playing in Vegas on our 3rd year anniversary at the 48 hour festival with Korn and let me tell you they played a great show for almost an hour and a half and they played all my favorites like Voodoo, Go away, I stand alone, Love Hate Pain Sex etc. I’ll always remember that night and I’m grateful for seeing them love you Sully!!!! ❤♒️💋🙏🏼👍🏼🎼🎧🎤🥁🎹🎸😊
1st band to see in my life when I was 12, no joking, and It was a concert I'll never forget. Sad to see them stop producing music but hey you cant always have it your way. I think this band has earned what they have today, more than a bunch of fans, a great reputation. now the need a chance to get a life, get back to doing what they want to. Thanks guys for being there most of my life and it was a more than great run. Hope you have a greatest hits tour or something of the sort. Most of all go do what YOU want to do.

They gave us damn near a quarter century of great music. Their self titled and The Oracle albims are my two favorites. But the growth it took to get from point A to point B in this specific example is exemplary.

Godsmack has been my absolute favorite hand since 1996... I am both undeniably heartbroken this is the last album and be gone elated that they will have much needed family time now.. Sully is someone I adore for not only his earth shattering and sould commanding voice, but how genuine of a person he is.. This news is a blow but also a new beginning.. ❤
Finally someone who gets it. Far to often bands keep making music that never seems to capture the same feeling or quality and everyone just wants to here their older stuff they love. Some bands are fortunate enough to just keep hitting homeruns like Red Hot Chili Peppers but Metallica fan's just want to hear anything before Garage Inc.

Im a Metallica and I like even their newer stuff. Death Magnetic is a great album. Sure Ride the Lightning is still my favourite album but their newer stuff is good too IMO
im sorry Metallica sucks always has and theyre a has been band and a bunch of jack wagons who dont appreciate their fans and they just need to go away the old farts they are and couldnt even begin to measure up to bands like Godsmack, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc.

Godsmack was in Minneapolis last spring, but it was the same night my son's senior prom, so we flew to Tampa to see them. 100% worth the trip. These guys are awesome and I wish them the best, cant wait to see them live again.

Dude I remember the first godsmack song I ever heard. It was The Enemy from WWE Summerslam 2006 and I thought to myself "this song is so fucking cool and then years later I saw them live and until I saw green day that was the best night of my life. So learned a couple songs after I saw them and I fell in love with 1000hp and have been a godsmack fan ever since. So yea when they come around I'm gonna rock out with one of my all time favorite bands Godsmack.

I discovered the band in 2016 after playing Prince of Persia Warrior Within on my PC. The energy and Thrill of 'I stand alone' and 'Straight out of line' was just awesome. I wish you the best GodSmack. Seeing this as your last album is definitely a bit saddening for me, but you said it right, there is much more things you wanna do in life. Wishing to see you soon !

I'm sad. But, Sully is an amazing singer, the band is brilliant and badass. I've listened to them since the beginning and hope this thing kick arse. First album was magic in my eyes and ears. This new album sounds really amazing.
