Trivia: Margaret Hamilton is the the original Wicked witch of the west now voices Aunt em. Liz Minnelli is the daughter of Judy Garland, the original Dorothy. Mickey Rooney, Judy's friend voices the Scarecrow who was originally portrayed by Judy's co-star, Ray Bolger. Ray Bolger the original Scarecrow.
@@fionalistermum653 Yes. I love both movies too. I'd love both even more if dorothy's dog, Toto could talk & sing when hes in Oz. In the original film & in his sequel. Maybe he can only he prefers not to but it would be wonderful xxxxx
I thought it was pretty decent myself. Obviously not perfect, can drag in some places, but I think it was an earnest effort to make an Oz film that could capture some of the magic of the original. The animation is a bit of a mixed bag. It looks really good and fluid in places, but sometimes can look like Filmation's TV animation. The voice acting is pretty good, especially Liza Minelli's performance as Dorothy, a scarily accurate representation of Judy Garland's voice. I personally would give it a 7 out of 10. It's no masterpiece, but it's a nice effort nonetheless.
Loved how Liza was Dorothy! Taking after her mom! :)
What another coincidence. Judy Garland was dorothy in the The Wizard of Oz 1939 then her daughter liza voices dorothy in the sequel.
This was my favorite movie as a child. It's so hard to track down. Thank you darthraner83 for this. C:
OMG The Wicked Witch from Wizard of Oz is the voice of Aunt Em! Cool!
I know. What a coincidence.
God I remember watching this thing just about every weekend. I can recall my brothers getting annoyed by it.
Fancy, seeing all the voice actors/actresses as their characters. And fancy Mickey Rooney as the Scarecrow 👨🌾
The ending credits are the best with the actor sketches.

The question

Thats right. She played the evil, wicked witch of the west. And then 33 years later, she voices dorothy's caring Aunt em. What a coincidence.
@@paulmacartney8266 it really is what a twist. She did both roles perfectly. I love both movies xxx

@@fionalistermum653 First, shes a villainess, then shes a heroine xxxo
Don Bluth worked on it?
LaDracul Not really, it was the people from Filmation who worked on this film 10 years after the project started.
Just finished watching it - never seen it before. It was OK, but I think I prefer Return To Oz
