      Hahaha that's one way to get into gaming 😂 My dad bought us an Amiga around the same time I was born, and I played it long after it became outdated, as we didn't get a new computer till the 2000s. The framerate is hard to adapt to but some Amiga games still do things no modern game has done.

      Spot on. I only played this now and again at my friends house, but it has stuck with me all these years, because it was so incredibly immersive for me. Same with Microprose Formula 1 game on the Amiga. Nowadays, I can play Ace Combat, and Gran Turismo on Playstation VR, and it blows my mind. But the 'young uns' are just like " meh ". 😅

    I absolutely loved this game on my Amiga 500. The 1st time I started to get into these games was after I played and beat Top Gun on the NES. I saw the demo of this and knew I had to get it. I think it was the 3rd or 4th game I bought. A short time later, I bought an Adspeed accelerator which brought the Amiga up to 14 mhz. The game plays beautifully at that speed. Later I got a A2000 using 030 @ 25 mhz and that was way too fast. Spent many hours on this game and it will always be one of my all time favs on Amiga.

      @Aquascape_Dreaming Рік тому

      @@stever285 despite what Bob Dinnerman (the programmer and game designer) claims, you can't actually destroy the carrier sub. You only have to destroy the enemy fighters that appear in the region. Unfortunately there's a glitch that happens around an unacceptable 40% of the time where you shoot down all of the fighters, but you don't get a 'mission success' message. The game will continue on, and if you land and exit the mission, it will count as a failed mission.
      It's been identified as a glitch because even if you destroy the fighters very quickly, you can still 'fail' the mission. So, there is no timeframe attached to completing it.

      @@Aquascape_Dreaming So, I've spend half my life believing I was an abject failure, my career as a fighter pilot ended before it began and all because of a poorly coded computer game.
