Try using deoxIT on the contacts for the joystick. Might just need a good cleaning. Couldn't hurt. My husband uses it on all his vintage stereo equipment.

That blue thing was cool! I love how the guy had the things to play also in the ready! Sublime lol. Crazy that they go for so much considering how out of date. Poor Jess looked so sad in the church sale. Guess there wasn't much to get there!
Yeah, that sale is always crazy busy each year. It was 6 pm and we stood out there for about an hour. At least we managed to get a few things.

I’ve been trying to pay attention to books a bit more! A post in group EBay for Beginners: a member sold a Stephen King for 275.00. Title The Bachman Brothers. Apparently they (SK) pulled it for content.

I've been doing the yard sale and flea market thing for about 40 years. I'm more of a collector than a flipper. Here's a few suggestions to new people doing this and hopefully, more pleasant buying experiences. Here's a few. Be friendly. Don't act entitled. You're not. Be pleasant, regardless of everything. Most people selling are, but there's always a few bad apples. Don't take anything personal. Respect the rules. If it says no early birds, accept that. If you see people there early, then it's probably ok to look. Be gentle and be sure to place things back where you got them from. Respect other buyers as well. Not everyone is a flipper. At the end of the day, you get what you were meant to get. It's all about luck and having fun!

I wish you would say why you passed on certain things. Especially at sales where everything appeared dirt cheap. IE several larger corning ware pieces with tops.

Are you able to write off all that mileage your driving on that road trip of yours? I want to do that one of these weekends, just bug out and thrift!
Not qualified to give tax advice. So, this isn't that. However, it depends on how one files. At least to my knowledge one can either claim mileage or gas and maintenance. I'd recommend doing some research on it or consulting a CPA.
Jess, do you have any board games such as Malarky,20 Questions, and Stage 2 a Trivial Pursuit type game?

Sell them to crafters that repurpose them. I personally love to do that type of thing, problem is most of the time they overalls no matter how bad of condition are too much money to cut up and repurpose
