@@lauragodridge8966 Nah this will actually happen. He just personified it and turned it into a lil skit, although we probably wouldn't be on Earth anymore at that point and you can interpret that in anyway you want. In 3-4 billion years the hydrogen that the Sun fuses into helium for energy using its gravity will be depleted, so to maintain its life it will start fusing its remaining helium into heavier elements, then those elements into even heavier ones, until it fuses them into iron. It can't fuse iron further, so when the iron in its core reaches a critical mass it dies, exploding and frying the remaining planets before ejecting them into space. But before this the Sun expands as it grows older, so just 600 million years from now it will have expanded to the point where Earth becomes uninhabitable and everything left there dies. In a few billion years it will expand to swallow the orbits of Mercury, Venus, and Earth and liquify Mars. The reason the humans start talking about K stars instead of a G star like our Sun here is because those are smaller stars with lower gravities, which means they fuse energy slower and thus expand less and live longer, so they're a lot more habitable for a lot longer.

In order to get anywhere near Proxima B, first we would have to at least advance a tier into the Kardashev scale. The travel time would take too long, even at light speed. We need wormhole technology.

If Proxima B is tidally locked it could still have moderate temperatures on both sides if it had an ocean, the ocean would mean heat would be transfered from the hot side to the cold side pretty easily.
But one thing to consider, if we start a mission to proxima b that's gonna take 6300 years, aren't we ignoring the fact that technology on earth will advance many times during that time period. Maybe the voyagers are on their way and some 500-1000 years later they get visited by another spaceship from earth, with advanced tech, that could take them to proxima b in much less time.
Imagine having completed 98% percent of the 6.300 year trip just to get overtaken by an advanced technology ship from earth who just took of a few years ago 😂
That won’t happen if we were to do that we would need the speed of light and even if we were to have the speed of light our bones would break and we would die....
It would only take 4.3 years at light speed to an outside observer. Depending on how close to the speed of light you were traveling, it would take much less time from the perspective of those on board the ship.
The trouble is, travel at even a small percentage of light speed will kill you. Space is not empty. Dust particles may be widely scattered, but at even moderate percentages of c, the rate of impact would not only erode the ship out from under you, but kill you with the resulting high energy radiation. Shielding will erode too, and presents the added problem of additional mass to move. Travel at light speed is impossible even if you could work out a way to achieve the velocity.
@@michaelcleveland50781. You have tech that makes your ship massless (or close to it, so you can travel 50% light) 2. Let's say you have some indestructible material - build your giant ship in a form of conus. Than every particle you hit is directed to the combustion chamber of your engine, which runs on antimatter....hence all resistance gives you additional bust.
@@mishkosimonovski23 "Let's say" says it all. You have an imagination for sci-fi, but there is nothing in Physics that points toward the possibility of any such material and, in fact, much that precludes it. Massless construction material is an oxymoron, and while the cone shape may deflect material toward a desired point, its shape will not keep matter from impacting and eroding the cone's surfaces. At some point in the process, there is an erosive impact. You also overlook the problem of particle interaction with anyone inside the ship. Everything is dopplered to a higher energy level, greater the faster you go. Shielding adds mass, which compounds the problem. Besides, 50% c gives you little advantage from time dilation. You have to achieve speeds on the order of 90% c to see any useful slowing of your clock. Travel at any significant percentage of light speed is not possible even if you had the propulsion.
@@michaelcleveland5078 Nuclear physics is old 120 years....before that nothing suggested that atoms splitting can power whole cities. And here we talk about a trip to Proxima that might last 1000s of years. He is wrong if we travel at 99.99% the speed of light.the Lorentz factor would be 70 and the time in spaceship would only be 4.3 years divided by 70 which is 22 days
Don't worry, I'm working on a sketch book of various Starship designs that are maybe capable of getting us to our closest star system just within a human life time. It would most likely be more efficient of getting there if we can launch these space crafts outside of Earth, meaning that a space port will be needed for this project. I do hope it could theoretically travel at least 10% the speed of light in take will make it a 45 or so years to cover the distance of 4.25 light years.

What If: ''Lets relocate the humanity to Proxima Centauri B.'' Also What If: ''It orbits a Red Dwarf Star'' Superman Fans (me too): *screams* NOOOOOOOO.........
By the way, the TV sci-fi show Lost in Space was dated 1997. Yes, in 1997 it was expected we'd have a star-ship capable of near light speeds, headed to Proxima Centauri. Gee, what happened to our space program over the last 23 years??
"It's a dwarf star. That's a good thing." What how? Tidally locked planets likely being decimated by the Star's solar wind on a daily bases likely removing the atmosphere (if was one to begin with) and killing all life not protected deep underground a good thing? Isn't the best case scenario it has an atmosphere and we can live in the band between the light and dark side in an eternal sunset?
Pretty sure if you relocated to any other planet, even if you somehow managed to just transport there instantly, it would take a long time for your body to adjust. In fact, it could take generations for people to be truly comfortable on that new planet.
Then you come to Earth and still can't find it. A friend tries to call your nr and you hear faint ringing from inside the shuttle. (Bunch of emojis for added effect)
I feel so dumb. For the longest time I thought "lightyears" were a measurement of years. Like 100 years is a light year or something like that. But no. A lightyear is the same as 1 earth year if you traveled at the speed of light. So if you wanted to go 4 earth years to another planet, you need to be traveling at lightspeed every earth-day for 4 earth-years.
Man stop overthinking it. 1 light year is the distance light travels in 1 year, simple as that. In space things are so far apart that saying something is 1 light year away is easier than saying 5.88 trillion miles (9.5 trillion km). By comparison the sun is about 8 light minutes away, or in other words it takes the light from the sun about 8 minutes to reach Earth. By another comparison the Moon is about 1.3 light seconds away. So yeah, if you traveled at lightspeed you could be on the Moon in just over a second, crash into the Sun 8 minutes later or be on Proxima B in about 4 years :)
We should be asking questions like how do we adapt other plants to function like earth, what steps it would take to be able to just land on the planet, and just take one very fresh breath of o2

Question: does time dilation happen when moving at the speed of light? For example, if it takes a ship 4.5 years to get there, does 100,000 years of time pass around it? If so, the planet may not even be habitable by the time we would get there. That's a big gamble.
Current technology states that if you start moving at anywhere even 0.001% lightspeed, your time will be drastically dilated. Since you have mass and you are affected by gravity, your time will 'super-slow' down to a point that 1 min for you, for example, would be many years on earth. PS. If you do reach light speed, your mass will become infinite and you will cease to exist... E = mc² = m°c²/√(1-V²/c²). you can Google this equation 😊

I like that when he speaks on these topics that he keeps using “Lost In Space “ , footage. I wish he’d use “Another Life” footage as well. Both are fictional Netflix shows that uses all the tech he refers to in this videos, that science is just figuring out. But yet, Netflix had it in their shows years prior, I mean sometimes it’s even down to the names! For example is saw another one of either this series, or riddle(I think it was riddle) where. Science had just come up with a way to to make shuttles and satellites move without fuel. They came up wit this “solar sail” , where they use this super thin material to create a sail that would move the shuttle via solar waves. In the show “Another Life”, Captain Niko is stranded in deep, deep space after saving her crew by sending them through a worm hole. Throughout the Series niko is known for constantly coming up with crazy ways to save the day. So this time when she thinks her luc has finally run out, she had this last minute idea to get her heading to earth even tho she has no more fuel. She comes up wit the idea to repurpose this special material that was used for something in the ship, it was supposed to be super strong, and super thin, and could withstand solar flares and radiation. She would create a “solar sail” out of this golden material, that could capture the solar waves, and get her home.... I rarely accept coincidence as a factor, and it’s very hard to agree with that sentiment here. Even if the news, and show aired simultaneously, how tf could NETFLIX WRITERS, be the first to know about NASAs latest discovery? Y’all keep being shocced by the simpsons, but fail to realize most of your favorite shows are involved with “predictive programming”. I mean watch a Star Trek episode from the 60s, and see how much modern tech they’re using. It’s either our scientists, engineers, inventors are literally stealing the imaginative ideas of creatives past, or the creatives today and past are privy to info us regular folks are not (Whether it be because of how they’re raised, morals, values, culture that urges them to expose certain info. or it’s due to govt agenda. Either or.... it’s no other way I can fathom right now. It’s no coincidence that so much info from Tech, to disasters, to terror attacs are put into mass media years before their occurrence in reality. I mean literally, all you have to do is pay attention, and you will see for real.🤷🏾♂️
1 thing that is very very important and you sorta forgot to explain, thus I oughta ask: Do Red dwarfs have the same lightwave length as our sun? The human body is uniquely adapted to it and can only build calciferol (later Vit D) with direct UV-light. That also begs the question if photosynthesis would be at all possible?
Photosynthesis works with any visible light, indoor farms use artificial light for example. Green light is least effective due to plants reflecting green.

Just some Ghost leviathan with internet access correct
This is pretty good lol

@@michaelcleveland5078 Well, Galileu also would have think that reaching the moon was impossible....
@@michaelcleveland50781. You have tech that makes your ship massless (or close to it, so you can travel 50% light)

A lightyear is the same as 1 earth year if you traveled at the speed of light.
So if you wanted to go 4 earth years to another planet, you need to be traveling at lightspeed every earth-day for 4 earth-years.
Lol happy for you, congrats.
Simply put light year is the distance travelled by a photon in a year without any kind of resistance
You do speak a lot lol
@@waitwhat3547 could've just said 'photon speed in vacuum'...

Very interesting topics
Question:
does time dilation happen when moving at the speed of light? For example, if it takes a ship 4.5 years to get there, does 100,000 years of time pass around it?
If so, the planet may not even be habitable by the time we would get there. That's a big gamble.
Current technology states that if you start moving at anywhere even 0.001% lightspeed, your time will be drastically dilated. Since you have mass and you are affected by gravity, your time will 'super-slow' down to a point that 1 min for you, for example, would be many years on earth.
PS. If you do reach light speed, your mass will become infinite and you will cease to exist...
E = mc² = m°c²/√(1-V²/c²).
you can Google this equation 😊
@@senzubeanmedic dude, you're awesome for breaking this down for me. I appreciate you!
@@senzubeanmedic you have some awesome stuff in ur comment 👍👍
At 10 times the speed of light, we'd reach in a few months

And i finished watching "Valerian and the city of a thousand planets"for like 15 mins ago and then when i opened my youtube this is the first video that i saw. What the😂
We thinking of moving to another planet
We not even made a vaccine for a deadly/flu virus
Grim Riper wouldn’t hurt to think of it, would it?
They haven't made a cure for aids either but humans still created the most powerful telescope
If you die, what awaits is hell my friend, Jesus wants to give you life after death. Life with him in heaven the rapture i near my friends repent before its to late. If anyone seeeks to keep there life they will lose but if anyone seeks to lose there life they will gain it. These is speaking of life after death.
medical microscopic robotics is already take over solar system
Imagine getting there, then seeing other beings.
What if the aliens on Proxima B are much more advanced and don't want to have anything to do with us, so have shielded themselves with their technology? 😳
The earth will end before we prepare to leave it
Jawad we all gonna die anyways, but its the hope, the optimism that motivates us to achieve persuit of a better self.
I love your channel, it helps me forget about what’s going on around the world 💚
1 thing that is very very important and you sorta forgot to explain, thus I oughta ask:
Do Red dwarfs have the same lightwave length as our sun? The human body is uniquely adapted to it and can only build calciferol (later Vit D) with direct UV-light. That also begs the question if photosynthesis would be at all possible?
Photosynthesis works with any visible light, indoor farms use artificial light for example. Green light is least effective due to plants reflecting green.

Hey What If, I was questioning where the other voice is at, I haven't heard her in a while.
Building a megastructure in a dying solar system will not help, we have to be interstella travellers to survive.
well technically if you masterize nuclear fusion, you dont need anymore to worry about that, just use hydrogen or water to get energy and anyway megastructure can mean stellar lifting, so just mine the sun to get what you need 😊
@@vkobevk well could be an option to trigger Jupiter into a small sun too but I feel there are more options with the interstella way unless we find a way to keep our sun going.
@@sgn4899 unfortunally you need 80 jupiters to get a red dwarf, it is possible if you mine sun to get your 80 jupiters
but building a artificial stars is not worth, it is better to mine the sun to get hydrogen for your nuclear fusion power plant for your space habitats so with sun upper layer you will have enough hydrogen for your fusion power plant for trillion of trillion years and later you build a dyson sphere around sun white dwarf 😊
@@vkobevkIs see your very much an inter solar folk:)
in 1 or 2 billion yrs the habitable zone will be in our gas giants zone and how you think will that increased heat affect jupiter and saturn?
@@sgn4899 jupiter gravity well is too strong, so it will not melt, i suppose all the icy moon will melt and have liquid water, only biggest moon will be able to sustain a atmosphere like titan, solar wind is too weak at jupiter orbit to be a threat for their atmosphere and i suppose jupiter magnetic field will protect them against solar wind
i am not against interstellar or intergalactic travel, it is just i think we should invest first in earth mining, nuclear fusion technologie and later solar system mining and my priority is to develop sun lifting before to develop interstellar travel
if you masterize nuclear fusion, nano robot technology and stellar lifting, stellar colonization will be easier than just blind launch your spaceship to another stars with human crew and after a travel of one century they cant find planet like earth and they are stuck in this solar system,
with nuclear fusion your spaceship will never run out of fuel, you will alway find fuel on asteroid, comet, planet and stars 😊
"It's so far away we cant tell if it has an atmosphere" we've calculated the composition of exoplanets much farther away

Only the smart and civilised ones like me, covidiots hoarding toilet paper are not allowed.
One whom calls oneself smart and civilized, often is the one whom lacks integrity. And there will be shortsighted people, whom are egoistic and approach subjects subjective no matter the evidence (i.e. facts), like an enormous amount of people are doing in the present.

What if, thank you for such beautiful videos! Similar situation is described in Robert Kim Stanlee's book "Aurora", where people turned back home.
Sir I have a question according to the E=MC^ formulae the fastest speed one can reach is the speed of light, and if we travel in that speed it would us 4.3 years to reach proxima . So how could the break through initiatives project
transport us to the planet in 20 years😅
Project Starshot
20 % speed of light
