- *My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

Yesss, me too!!! 👍
Mine too. I’m not sure why I always come back or look for your channel
Great pizza cooking and love the scenery. Enjoy your travels!
You are truly a blessed man.
Nothing like the smell of the Creosote bush after a rain! Thanks for the video Brian! Take Care and Stay Safe!!
It must be a magical feeling waking up in that desert environment, thanks for sharing.
Love seeing Hobbs. He is such a lucky pup. Gonna have to try to make a pizza tonight. Looks yummy.
Thanks for the video. I always look forward to it. I was looking at the side of your van and I thought it would make a good movie screen. It’d be neat to have a small projector for outdoors movies. Have a little speaker of even Bluetooth headphones. Cheers.
Show me another guy who will make a pizza, let alone making his own dough!! Kudos Brian. You are a champ in the kitchen. I'm sure Kelly and Hobbs are so appreciative. ❤
Wonderful video and commentary. I was excited to see all the creosote and how green it was. I was trying to imagine the smell; it's one of my favorite scents. I've been sick for so long in a sticks and bricks I'm longing to get back on the road. I'll finally be heading to Idaho mid-June. Cannot wait to get back on the road. Happy Trails. ☮️
Going to try your pizza method! Looks good and I love ham and pineapple! Desert looks beautiful.
Nice dough next time try adding a little sugar it will help feed the yeast
You gotta see if you can twist Kelly’s arm that so that she’ll do a video for us on her van
It always amazes me the wonderful food you cook up in your little kitchen area ! It looks amazing and better than I usually make in my house kitchen . 😂 yum !
Gorgeous mornings! That air smells so good! Glad you got the tech taken care of. I like your adaptations for stove top pizza, smart. It's not bad at all to have such a nice camp while you wait for forest roads to dry.
Killer looking pizza and crazy weather! Life is so fun! 😊
I thought I would be enduring the desert to attend the RTR and was amazed by its effect on me! I had to actually be there myself, or I wouldn't have believed it. ❤ Beautiful spot! Good man be so in tune with the land and being so respectful and conscious.
Hey Brian.. love the desert aroma after a rain 👍 Pizza looked delicious as always 😋 You, Kelly & Hobbes take care 😁👍✌️
Damn good job on the pizza man...except for the pineapple...peace and happiness brother.
8yrs subbed to Brian. Let's go!!!
Another great video. Pizza looked delicious. Much love from San Diego 👍
April tends to be the snowiest month of the year in Colorado. The ski resorts will close because business falls off as spring comes to the lower elevations and people go back to golf, bicycling, tending their yards and other pursuits. I had a home there for 14 years at 9100 feet elevation in Dillon. We’d never go until the second week of June because many years there’d be at least one more snow the first week. Not one that would prevent travel but would certainly muck up the roads as the big melt continued. I also enjoy the smell of creosote after rain. Matter of fact I have one planted in my yard here in Tucson. I wrote a poem on the subject some years ago. I’ll include it here. Enjoy your videos immensely. All the best.
Desert After Rain
There's life affirming fragrance in the desert after rain,
Emitting from the creosote, which some folks have disdained.
In the highly cultured gardens, where the hoity toity dwell,
Plants are carefully chosen, sans of desert smell.
Native dwelling fauna, that call Sonora home,
In harmonious communion, live with flora in the loam.
The brown and speckled cactus wren, with loud and raspy voice,
In the branches of the Greasewood, taking insects of it choice.
The natives of the region, used for medicine it's leaves,
To cure the dreaded fevers, and brew their healing teas.
They've lived upon the desert, ten millennia and more,
The Larrea tridentate, with water that they store.
In bible times the burning bush, in which God to Moses spoke,
Stood a flaming testimony, but was not consumed in smoke.
Those who've studied ancient history, feel the creosote's the tree,
Representing God's own people, captive, yearning to be free.
So as I wander yonder, on the land of little rain,
Regard the humble creosote, who some have called their bane.
When the gentle mist is falling, I inhale the fresh perfume,
Feeling blessed beyond all measure, with the desert in her bloom.
Some things defy description, it's not easy to covey,
The nourished, sated feeling, on a rainy desert day.
When all nature stands rejoicing, giving thanks to God above,
For the life renewing water, the soul renewing love.

Such beautiful words you were gifted with. Thank you for sharing your beautiful poem with us
New Mexico was just like that when we were there in 2021. North of Queen at a hanggliding site the wind would be perfect the 15 minutes later it sounded like a roaring ocean and 40 mph. Got snowed on a couple times and wind. But the quiet and beautiful countryside was great.
Really enjoy your videos!
Hi to Kelly's feet when Hobbs was asking for pineapple 😂. That pizza looked so good even though I never had one with ham & pineapple. The char really brought it together, nice touch. Goofy weather all over. Enjoyed the sound of the rain on your roof, very peaceful feeling for me. Take care, always so glad to see you guys. 🤗✌️
We got low 80s here (Yucca Valley) yesterday and super low humidity it was quite comfortable. I got a lot done out in the weed removal area of the yard. With your matching vehicles, your camp has a really cohesive look. It's great.
Morning Brian and Kelly safe travels 😊
Snow! So cool. I love the smell of the desert after the rain.
How did Hobbs handle snowy/rainy/windy bathroom breaks?
Incredibly humble and blessed to have the lifestyle you guys have. Thank you for sharing this amazing day with me.
Always a pleasure. Thanks for sharing with us.
Good to hear from you again.
Verify road routes as bridges are. Ring assessed and closed. Gunnison to Monroe hey 50 indefinitely closed
Thank you Brian, Kelly and Hobbes for showing us your camp
I would love to clean the side of your van with some glass cleaner and put some mountains with some pinstriping
Guess I'm having pizza tonight. Thanks for the video Brian.
Oh, how delicious that pizza looked! You are a great chef, Brian! Love your channel, and Hobbs adds a lot. Every time I see Hobbs, he melts my heart. Thank-you for sharing your nomad lives with those of us who live vicariously through you. God bless and safe travels!
You seem so content! What more could you ask for?🎉maybe Hobbs will enjoy the bubbles more the 2nd time around?
I’ve never had a dog that likes carrots or fruit; mind you I’m
not much into pineapple on my pizza. As usual you may make me rethink my prejudices...
Thank you for another great video Brian 🙂
Rain and snow in the desert in April, what is happening to our weather system? In an hundred years Missouri will probably be the desert and New Mexico will be the fertile land. We probably won’t be seeing it.
Just so you know you don't necessarily have to do anything special for me to enjoy your videos. Living out of some kind of vehicle on public lands is actually much like living anywhere else. It's made up of simply living. Cooking, cleaning, maintaining things, just being.
The big difference is for some of us with certain personalities is we just enjoy it more being surrounded by nature and peace and quiet if we can find it. Take good care you two and your little dog too.
Great looking pizza, how was it? Love the channel.
Oh man, I gotta make pizza dough now! Love your videos Brian! Been watching for years now ever since the first van! You are truly an inspiration! Thanks again for letting us experience the simple, beautiful life of being a nomad with you!
Two different surprises here, ❄️🍍
You've mastered The Art of Living Well...!! Keep enjoying the road and your freedom brother!! Timmy C Arizona

I love your videos! Would love to hear more of your music!
That pizza looked as good as the landscape there. 😁👍
Aaaaaa Pineapple on Pizza.... used to love you... ha ha
haha yeah I stopped being a picky eater in my early 20s.😆
Great adventure and yummy pizza
DAMN, I'm now hungry!!!!
No sugar for the yeast?
How long approximately to pan cook the pizza?
Great spot and a talented chef. Keep enjoying your solitude.
Good lookin Pizza😋😋👍. Ya the weather is slowly gettin warm here Craters of the Moon. Just had a windy thunderstorm go by. But got a lotta shade trees in the dirt this mornin. Hoping to get up in the Sawtooths next month. That rain must smell good out there .. Safe travels you All. Be blessed👍👍🙏🙏🙏🤙🤙🇺🇲🇺🇲
Love that darn flute to open each episode!
I've also been waiting for conditions to improve to the north. I've finally started creeping that way. I think I'm currently in a decent intermediate zone where it's not roasting in the day or freezing in the night. But I have no pizza.
🤣
Best lifestyle ever! Righteous pizza! ☮️
put some rain x on that window then no need for a wiper
Hobbs is a smart puppy. Pineapple is the absolute best !!
Hey Brian hey Dobbs
Haha Hobbs has human feet🤣!
pizza looked yummy
Thank you for the video a little short but it is what it is
Thank you for another uplifting video, I love how much you respect the land, we are the caretakers.
Brian I like an Hawaiian pizza, pineapple, ham, onions but not the Jalapenos, people say to me you can't have fruit on a pizza, but the base is tomatoes which is a fruit!!
haha yeah I stopped being a picky eater years ago.😋
Anyone know where this was?
Western New Mexico near the Arizona state line.
Thank you sir. It was absolutely beautiful. Safe travels.
When the winds get bad, do you put the front of your van into the wind? I stayed at the wind river casino last year and a storm was passing thru. I don't remember what the wind speed was ,but it was rocking the rv pretty good so I started it up and pointed it into the wind and turned it off and it rocked a lot less.
it was multi directional
@@AdventureVanMan I guess you can only hope for the best.
Thanks Brian!
You can make an excellent camping cooking show.
I've tried a bunch of your recipes and they turned out great for camping. Thank You my friend 👍
It always puts a smile on my face when I get the notification of your new videos Brian.
Awesome colours in the desert after the rain, the plants love it.
And once again, a culinary masterpiece ✌️
What's your pizza dough recipe? Mine is delicious, but it's always gooey and sticky. It tastes good after it's baked though.
I just use yeast, flour, salt, and water.
Can’t wait for some Colorado from you!
Awesome pizza Brian! Stay well
Awwww...Hobbes and the bubbles! Pizza 🍕 makes everything better! 👍😎🇨🇦🐾👌
Really love your videos Brian. It makes me feel like I'm out there too. What was the synthesizer you were using to make your background music? Thanks
Thats the Arturia Microfreak, its soooo fun. Search 'loopop microfreak' on youtube. That guy does a very thorough demo of its capabilities.🤙🏼
Hey. Bubbles 😄😁 Homemade pizza anytime is good. YUM😁. You're in a nice area with beautiful scenery for sure. Thanks for another great video. KOKO
Bubbles always make me smile
Brian, that pizza, was a masterpiece! It looked so amazing. You are correct, it's got to be a blessing to wake up and see the mountains while having your coffee. I bet the view of the stars are breathtaking. Have a wonderful journey. Blessings to you, Kelly and of course, Hobbs. Your friend, Louise
OMG! You are the first I’ve heard talk about not abusing our off-road locals. I’m in a Ford Transit so if there are deep ruts etc it’s inaccessible for me the whole season. I agree that its up to each driver to wait until these roads are dry enough for travel. Thanks for making a point of that. Pizza looks delish!! 😊
Delish pizza! Yes, everyone...pineapple. It adds sweetness to the salty pizza.

That's artificial snow, crazy, but true.
