Vigilante I think most can agree that even if they didnt hate it, this is one of the weakest seasons of the show

LjO Poowo is a character death enough to say a whole season is bad?? And that death was very well written into the story and made perfect sense as to why they did it. All the decisions characters made, were sensible towards the characters (except for what Jesus did in 802 tbh) but everything else even if YOU thought was dumb of them, that doesn’t take away the fact that it makes sense for that specific character to do such a thing
It’s called a story line and this story line is about Negan and the war. Soooooo people aren’t gonna kill him straight up because the story needs to continue.

The TWD timeline from S07E01 when Glenn died, to the end of this season, S08E16, is about four or five weeks. So, each episode is about one or two days TWD time.

Now do you understand why people hated seasons 7 and 8? All these stupid scenarios with characters doing stupid things that they shouldn't be doing, just pure stupid lazy writing. Gabriel saving Gregory, no one gets shot, no one shoots Negan, no stakes at all. This season goes all out with taking advantage of the unrealistic comic booky moments in order to move the story forward. There is great moments but you will find yourself being frustrated and yelling at the screen a lot but atleast you can binge it.
They liked season 7. Season 8 is where everything just went wrong.
Just because you wouldnt do it doesnt make it stupid the characters have their own decisions.
Gabriel saving Gregory wasnt stupid just look at where gabriel was back in season 5 he got given a chance after ratting out Rick's group.
No one gets shot? negan did everyone one else was either inside or behind cover if Rick's group starting shooting immediately then yeah alot more people probably wouldve died, hence why they didnt shoot at negan straight away they were stalling
@@CGCentralHD you are missing the point bud lol I know you go around defending this season all over youtube but do you even bother acknowledging why people hate this season? I know you'll say "people are stupid for dropping the show over 1 or 2 bad seasons" or over " 1 character death" but as someone who has been here since the start I completely understand the hate and why so many stopped watching, the only thing I can agree on is that these seasons are better binged than week by week viewing but the writing is undoubtedly inconsistent or atleast a lot of the situations that or the explanation for said situations is a little to convoluted especially for a comic book show.
If you need to make a comment this long to explain the logic of these scenarios then that is enough proof to show you these situations are not fun, entertaining or engaging to watch at all unless if you have a good showrunner leading the writers in the right direction. Seasons 7 and 8 have so many stupid unbelievable moments about as much as the good epic moments making these seasons hated. What more can I say?

The dumbest moment of the Walking Dead was not killing Negan when they had the chance. I mean, Negan was just there, surrounded by guns. Negotiate my ass, that was a waste of an opportunity.
They couldnt win a straight gun fight negan even stated he had more people hence the stalling for walkers and the execution of the plan.
@@CGCentralHD But they destroyed the Sanctuary anyways. So regardless of killing Negan or not, they would still have to fight the Saviors. The smart thing to do would have been to kill Negan and then destroy the Sanctuary. I guess Rick was dumb that moment because then there wouldn't be more seasons if he made the wise decision.

@@CGCentralHD For your information, I can read but I'm not sure if you can spell. It's "Negan" btw. Alexandria, Hill Top and the Kingdom surrounded the Sanctuary and they were also counting on Daryl. Remember how Daryl lured the walkers to the Sanctuary. So Rick didn't have to count down. Obviously Negan would not agree to Rick's terms so the whole "Rick counting down" thing was pretty stupid. Everyone destroyed the Sanctuary already and trapped the Saviors with surrounding Walkers so they wouldn't have made things worse by killing Negan when they had the chance. It was just a writing flaw so that they could still have Negan in later seasons.
Look, I like The Walking Dead but sometimes you gotta admit that some moments were pretty stupid.

You keep using something that happens ahead if time as a reason for something in the past that just dont work, again what part of outnumbered dont you get? Now a time frame wasnt exactly shown of how long rick and co were outside sanctuary but I'm assuming it was a decent enough time to get the walkers all the way there they HAD to stall what part of that dont you get? Noticed how they waited for the explosion signal? They shot at windows to prevent snipers from picking anyone off which are then shown shooting at gabriel.
Pay attention alot of it makes sense more than your willing to admit.
THE FRUSTRATIONS they should have been popped Negan, especially Gabriel.

Almost probably. Since negan shows up earlier than a week to Alexandria. Then the finale is a week after that. So 2 negan supply runs 2 weeks. Then the war is like 2 weeks too. Herschel died like 4/5 months before this

I don’t even remember watching the episodes I didn’t list as good b/c there plots were so boring and I won’t go into spoilers since they are on episode 5 and just saw the death of Shiva but I don’t even remember episode 6 or 7 or 10 well just small things but overall the season is dog shit and I’m glad Gimple the dumbass left to ruin fear.

Tomás well at least amc fired Scott Gimple as showrunner and now the show is so much better because season 9 was amazing and season 10 premiere was fantastic

XpertFusion thats all up to opinion man, and this is definitely one of the weaker seasons of this show that I hold close to my heart
TrR Ream I just don’t get why tho? I feel like most ppl were just salty that specific character died. This season had some of the best soundtracks, most emotion, most action out of any season. It’s not my favorite, I’d say 6 and 9 are the best two. But 8 is still quite good. Ppl just complain about minor directing and editing flaws that a few episodes had
XpertFusion the second half of the season is better than the first, but that character death (and the behind the scenes drama involving it) left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths since it was just so unnecessary, plus we got characters like Daryl who throughout this season (and somewhat through this season) lost his charm and the deeper side of him completely and was just “the cool guy who shoots and blows things up”
Plus theres other things like Morales’ return (these guys already watched it on patreon so I can say this) only for him to die instantly which just feels stupid and the fact that it feels like in this season everybody talks super complex and in poems instead of regular human dialogue lol. Lastly, this storyline has gone for 2 1/2 seasons, people are gonna get tired of it. The longest villain storyline before this was the Governor who had 1 1/2 seasons, the thing about him though is that for a decent amount of s4’s first half (s4ep1-s4ep5) he wasn’t even there so while he was a looming threat we got sometime away from him.
Obviously I respect your opinion if you like the season, but I’m just not too big of a fan of this one.

Syed Razvi the whole season is war. The only “slow” episodes were episodes 5-7. Everything else was FAST paced. Probably too fast at some points. Everything that happened was needed for the story

Okay so this is a prime example of what is wrong with this season. Character's choices are dumb as fuck and just not realistic at all. It's like they've all become dumb. This is exactly what was fixed in season 9, which is my favourite season. So just hold on to your asses and get through this.

March to war arc could have been faster. But all out wars arc is the TWD story finale all comic fans have been waiting for since it released. And look what they did to it. Almost nothing is the same at all. Making it the most dissapointing thing I've watched on tv. Twd wise. Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks!

This is when a lot of fans sadly left the show. When I read all out war i was completely blown away from the beauty of the scenarios. But the show doesn't have any of that.

It always boggles my mind when people can't separate what YOU would do from what the CHARACTER would do in any movie or show. Would you shoot Negan? Sure. Would Gabriel do it? Most likely not. He just showed you minutes ago he's willing to help even the biggest weasel around. And he makes an attempt next episode at killing him at least. But the way he acts is within his character.

This season has some bad episodes but watch just for being a fan of the story Robert Kirkman have us. Scott Gimple was sent to clear up Fear TWD during this season and one of the head writers was acting as showrunner during his absence her name is Angela Kang I personally can't stand her. She messed up this season but because Gimple was still the showrunner. He got blamed for her mess. Please trust me when I tell you. Read the name at the beginning of each episode to see who wrote it and you may understand why I'm telling you this bad season as far as the writing is concerned is not Scott Gimples fault!!

having Negan just willingly walk outside of the compound when it's surrounded by people with guns is bad writing. having all of the people just shoot out the windows of the compound when we are years deep into the apocalypse and ammo is scarce is bad writing. starting the episode with Rick's monologue about just killing Negan and sparing everyone else and then doing the exact opposite of that is bad writing. every thing that poors out of Negan's stupid mouth is bad dialogue. it's hard to care about characters when they are this stupid.

My 6 year old nephew could write better. There's your example. Rick is a very good shot, but he misses Negan with a machine gun only 50 yards away? Give me a break dude. And having the show cut to commercial right after Rick pulls the trigger and then cutting back to Negan dodging the bullets is AWFUL writing. It would have made wayyyy more sense to have just Simon walk out and address the threat rather than Negan walk out himself. And it's soooo bad! I want good strategy and characters put into situations that make sense and are consistent with the logic established by the walking dead universe. Most people (myself included) consider season 8 as the worst of the series. The writing is bad and the dialog is terrible. But if you slug your way through it, season 9 is the best they had in years.

@@megaherd619 did you ignore the plan and what Daryl was doing they knew rolling up to the sanctuary for a full blown gun fight would be suicide negan even said he had the numbers in that scenario, hence luring the Walker herd to the sanctuary and why Rick stalled, mocked megan and would allow everyone else to surrender (whether he was being genuine about this who knows he knows there innocent people in there tho) the explosion was a signal to let them know how far away the herd was and obviously waiting for the right time to shoot and THEN they shot.
They would've lost a gun fight and it wouldve dragged out menaing all the other outposts would have either way more time to prepare assuming Rick's group even survives or all starting heading to the sanctuary meaning Rick's group would be completely surrounded. Maybe they should've showed a brief scene of the group planning explaining it but people seemed to miss the point of the actual plan
That would have been too easy to kill him and it will be dumb as shit, like all the stuff that he did and he could just die right away, not fuck that.

I was SO MAD at Gabriel at first, but then I remembered that Rick's group gave him a few chances, and he eventually turned into a really good ally and friend. I think he was doing the whole Christian thing, or the whole 'pay it forward' thing. If he, a person that betrayed his entire flock, was redeemed, then Gregory and yes, even Negan, could be redeemed. It seems like the appropriate mindset, if you are a true Christian. So props to him sticking to his beliefs.

too bad he didn't stick to that belief with the outpost guy. COME ON MAN! Gabriel gave a sermon before he killed a man in cold blood, he could have done the same to Negan. This is the problem with season 8, things characters did a week before this huge fight doesn't make sense of what they do in the fight. Rick is an AMAZING shot, all of sudden he isn't. Gabriel is down for killing, all of sudden he wants to save people. Carl is another example, I don't know who this kid is this season but I don't want to spoil so.

Carl was never a blood thirsty killer he killed when he had to when he rolled up to sanctuary he shot what 2 guys? And was hesitant to shoot anyone else, what you wanted him to shoot siddiq in the face? After that moment carl knew theres more to it all than just killing. Your argument would make sense if Carl was constantly wanting to kill everyone all the time for 2 seasons beforehand but he wasnt hell look back to season season with rick actually willing to live with the governor like a month a ago hed have completely murdered him all because of one event that happens it changes ricks mind set. It also fixes as massive plot hole in the comics when it comes to Rick making a certain choice out of absolutely nowhere

360 change means it would be facing the same direction tho. 180 would make more sense. Also season 7 was build up to 8. And 8 is t building up to 9 at all. 8 is what the whole show was buikding towards. 8 is the ending of the survival arc of twd (season 1-8) so many full circle arcs that end. 9 is the whole new start to the series. No build up

Tbh. I love TWD. When this episode came on. I tried to defend it. But looking back at it now and later on. It was a bad episode. I tried to like it because it was the 100th episode and we were so hyped for this WAR. But it just worst with every episode. Imo. None of it was good. And I love AL as Rick. But it was so bad. Smh
