Negan definitely felt threatened by Abraham, the way Abe wasn't quivering and crying like the others, Negan was most certainly threatened and also the look they gave each other, last episode Abraham did not lose eye contact with Negan.
Yeah when you in that situation it's best to not look at the person in the eye Abe was looking at him the whole time

I was literally about to come and make the same comment. The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be is a callback to that doctor’s warning. You’re not always going to feel grateful for the chance to live, because sometimes death might be better.

In the comics, Abraham got an arrow in his eyeball. Thankfully it hit the brain so he couldn't feel it, didn't even know it was there. Also there was no cliffhanger, Glenn just got his melon busted open. I dare you to look up what he looked like after it was over.

Yeah. On the "Talking Dead" after show, creator Robert Kirkman said he wasn't ultimately satisfied with the way Abraham died in the comics. So, he asked the TV show guys to give Abraham's comic book death to someone relatively minor, thus Denise. He wanted Abraham to have a more "heroic"/sacrificial type death. He also wanted to keep Glenn's death in as well, as it is an iconic death scene. The writers had to come up with a way to have a reason to kill them both.
I prefer the way they did it in the show tbh, cliffhanger and then this episode? That was genius
Glenn was my favorite character but his luck had to run out sometime.
Especially with that dumpster ordeal.

Giant Devil26 exactly he survived being kidnapped by the vatos, he got out of the CDC b4 it blew up, he survived the well Walker,survived being taken captive by Merle and fighting a walker while tied to a chair, he survived the prison flu epidemic, he survived almost being a victim of cannibalism to Gareth and the termites, he survived getting shot by Nicholas, he survived the dumpster (I still remember my best friend was heartbroken b/c he was a huge Glenn fan and was so convinced that he died that he stopped watching for a few episodes and I had a gut feeling he lived) he survived being pinned to a wall by a huge horde in no way out, he survived killing those saviors. Glenn had like over 9 lives and Lucille was always his end.

So, lol, This was the most horrific scene I've seen from TWD.
I knew in my gut it was Abraham, but GLENN?!!!. I do remember thinking why was Neagan standing so close to Glen, then BOOM!!. I cried HARD. Like I lost a family member.
You have to understand Glen has been there since DAY 1. He found Rick. So to see him go out like that broke my heart into pieces. I feel for Maggie because everyone she loved is now gone.
But damn, I still cringed watching that.

I think that's why Glenn's death broke Rick so much...... Not only was Glenn the first person he meant after the apaclapse ....but he was a really close friend and was his second in command to thr group.....
Abraham was the bonus kill for the show only to give Negan more impact upon arrival, and to be more unpredictable but also to keep things as they were in the comic. That's one of the most iconic kills in tv/comic history, so it's only right that they keep everything as it was to begin with. Abraham didn't die how he did in the comics (that was Denice w/ the arrow), so he was bound to go eventually.
Had no clue. I thought it was going to be Abe to take the place of Glenn in the comics so I was already sad but grateful at least Glenn lived and then they took both of my favs out.

RJ Glenn had the same potential as all the other characters to continue his story. Fanfic writers do it. Presumably, thats exactly the the purpose of the overpaid “professionals” writers & producers. But I’m puzzled as to why you would respond to my comment w/that idea. I’m not gonna be cool w/Glenn dying b/c hypothetically he may have, key words: “at first”, submitted to Negan like Rick. He is one of my fav TWD characters & he was murdered in a horrible degrading way while his killer, who is truly unnecessary, gets to live.
I do see why few people blame Daryl for Glen's since Negan said he was gonna beat the holy hell out of ONE of you. Glen jumping out he let that slide "first one is free" then daryl punched Negan and that counted as another beating to someone

I think Daryl is to blame somewhat (even though Negan is truly the one to blame), but *SPOILERS!!!!!!* Daryl pays for it and he endlessly blames himself. For that I could never hate Daryl. He made a mistake, he paid for it, and he apologized to Maggie (she never blames him for it). End of story. Daryl's a hero in my eyes, mistakes and all.
@WillFanofMany I don't think there's anything wrong with where Maggie ended up, nor do I think Daryl's decision to take her side later on has any impact on who has died or left in the last season or so. Glenn died the same way in the comic fwiw. The actor wanted him to get his comic death and unfortunately the show runners used Daryl as the catalyst for it. If they had only went with one death in that scene it still would've been Glenn, not both him and Abe. It was all about shock value on the show. Daryl has always had a good heart and put his life at risk plenty of times alongside Rick and the others. I don't know how anyone could hate him (although I know a lot of the comic fans dislike him because he's not a comic character and is a fave of the tv show fans).
lollypop2414 that and Daryl always had Glenn’s back. In season 1 after Glenn got taken by the vatos. Daryl wanted to kill the gang member they captured in case Glenn was dead already then in season 3 Daryl was pissed off at Merle for handing Glenn and Maggie to the Governor to be tortured then in season 4. Daryl wanted to make sure Glenn and Sasha were still ok after the Walker attack in 4x5 after most of the sick ppl died and turned then in season 5 after Glenn punched Aiden. Nicholas rushed in to make it a two on one but Daryl tackled Nicholas and held him on the ground getting ready to kill him until Rick stopped him. Daryl always did care about Glenn and since he still feels responsible for Glenn’s death which he’s not he’s just trying to keep Maggie and their unborn child safe b/c Glenn can’t be there to do it.
So if Glenn had maintained his composure and not jumped out then Daryl's punch would have counted as the first one is free and Glenn would have survived? ;)

I think the difference between the deaths of everyone on each side is that when ricks group killed all of those saviors, they were just numbers, just people. But the think that is special about ricks group is that all of his people are his family. When they lose people, the don’t mourn the numbers/resources they’ve lost-the mourn the actually life and person that was killed. The 2 lives (Glenn and Abraham), I think do equal or are above the “value” of all of the savior men that died. That’s why the impact was so much great on the group and on the audience.

@@blackfrieza1912 It is pretty boring the Negan/All Out War story was way too much dragged the showrunners of that time forgot why people loved the show in the first place and S8 was filled with so many unrealistic things and lack of character development it also has the most unnecessary death (no spoilers but you probably know who I am talking about) I am so glad they let Angela Kang take over the show in S9 and she did a great job with that season hopefully S10 will be as good as S9 if not better

Because if that's the case then that will be an insult no proper conclusion like they had in the finale also you can't really say that the show runners forgot anything about why people loved this show because they did everything they can do to make the threat of the walkers and humans even more dangerous you can't watch the walking dead and not expect alot of character death because that would defeat the purpose of the walking dead. Also lack of character development? Dude season 7 and 8 had plenty of character development so what are you talking about

I agree probably the most intense premiere I’ve ever seen, probably the best premiere ever created on tv by far. The way he bashed Abraham and Glenn, the dialogue throughout the whole episode was funny, sad, amazing etc all at the same time, then Andrew Lincoln with his superb acting. It’s unbeatable. I’ve tried finding a better premiere for years… still haven’t found one.

Nicholas Windfuhr I still do. That whole summer my friend wanted Abe to die and Glenn to live and I was the opposite and I called it being a double kill I was talking to my friend after the comic con trailer came out and I was like watch Gimple do something ballsy and have Negan kill both of them and my friend said that would be retarded but after Negan picked Abe. I was like fucking hell my friend was right and Abe’s gonna be the only Lucille victim but when Negan hit Glenn. I was like holy fuck how did I call it! Abe’s death pissed me off as for Glenn I was happy he got his iconic death. I then texted my friend b/c he missed the premiere and I told him to watch it and when I woke up the next morning. I saw a bunch of angry texts from him saying that I probably read spoilers about the double kill which I didn’t. He hated that I was right.

I'm done with their BB reactions even though they only have 2 episodes left but Robs hood mentality, stupidity..i can't bare to watch their BB reactions anymore, he ruins it...the TWD reactions are much more watchable.

LOL. Rob is literally shown to be VERY pro female so no dude, he's not sexist at ALL. He simply roots for all black characters. He ADORES Michonne, constantly refers to her beauty and strength, thinks Sasha is "badder" than Rosita and is strong woman, loves Morgan, and even in other shows, have taken likings to even controversial female characters, and has stated he'd rather work with women in charge.

Tbh I think season 9-11 were pretty good, but nothing will ever beat the first few seasons for me and it's such a shame that the show took such a big nose-dive in season 7-8.

Agreed. I get why people were/are upset over Glenn and Abraham's deaths, but it's still such a shame that so many people completely dropped the show and its characters after, especially since TWD has always been known for its gore and deaths from the beginning.

What are you talking about, just because it happened in the comics doesn't mean it will happen on TV. Negan chose abraham and he was done after that. Its clear if you watch it he says first ones free and that he will shit it down. Daryl is 100 percent to blame for Glenn's death.

Daryl is the one to blame for Glenn's death. Negan was already done but Daryl was a loose cannon. JDM even said so on the after show.

@@swuavewrap8642 Yeah, Daryl doesn't exist in the comics and wasn't even supposed to exist in the show either as Norman Reedus had originally auditioned to play Merle, which Michael Rooker got instead, but he was so great that they made Daryl and added him to the script just for him and even then he was supposed to die in season 1 and 2 and basically was only a younger Merle, but ironically he ended up becoming the most popular character in the series, a main character and practically the face of the show lmao

Don't feel bad for not continuing. I'm day 1, OCT 31st 2010 fan of TWD and I can say that from here on out for quite a while it's a slow downhill spiral in quality, with brief patches of excellency sprinkled in. I still love it, but, it does get rough for a while.

Robb can be controversial sometimes, but he pointed out one of my favorite things about this show; it has such a realistic portrayal of how humans will be in a world like that.
I'm not a Daryl fan. But what kind of man can call himself a man if he doesn't protect a lady. They just met Negan. They don't know he doesn't use the bat to kill women. He was right to protect Rosita. Jeffrey Dean Morgan does such a good job playing Negan. He got a critics choice award for S6 E16 introduction of Negan. Some back story.....Negan used to be a teacher and coach and an ass who cheated on his wife all the time. She died of cancer that's part of what made him go crazy

I stopped watching after this episode. I tried to watch the season 8 but the show went down hill because of the show runner and his dumb decisions which he did get replaced. Y’all are in for bad decision making and also deaths that shouldn’t have never happened. Scott went for shock value and disregarded the source material for main characters.
