- Talking about something that happened on twitter recently consisting of a popularity poll called the Danganronpa Awards.
People are not happy with many of the results, which we will talking about it

I understand being upset about your favorite character not winning, but when you're sending death threats, you gotta stop and think "hey, am I the bad guy here?"
I'll admit, I'm pretty surprised Maki won since I've seen a pretty decent amount of hate for her out there. That obviously doesn't mean Maki is the most popular Danganronpa character, it just means a lot of Maki fans found the poll. Considering Shuichi and Kaito were the winners for the last 2 years, a lot of training trio fans found the polls, I guess.
Danganronpa fans are never going to accept that opinions are just that: opinions. Even if you don't agree with them or understand their opinion, you can at least respect their opinions. Sometimes you just won't see eye to eye with someone else, but in that case, you just have to let it go and move on. Why do people resort to death threats? It's a video game, people can just like whoever they like. There are dozens of reasons to like or dislike a character. It's not a personal attack on anyone to like or dislike a specific character. It never was, and it never will be.

@@tayekoo It's mostly on reddit if I'm being honest, but reddit seems to hate everything, so maybe that's not saying much.
I think Maki also had a lot of support from the Hajime and Nagito fans who were still salty over Kaede beating them both back-to-back, leading to them voting against her out of spite in the grand final.

Yeah, I noticed that sorta shit last year. One time, I made a joke about how crazy Nagito is and all I got for my troubles was a death threat from this one girl who was one of them crazy Nagito stans. She even had the unmitigated GALL to play it off like, "Look at me! I'm crazy in a quirky way!" Like, bruh, get some help!
It literally blows my mind that someone actually tried to blame Chihiro losing on transphobia - when for one, he isn’t even canonically trans, and two, that has absolutely nothing to do with him losing. I’m a trans guy and this is legit one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.
yeah like his whole character was him crossdressing and acting like a girl due to insecurities and not being "strong enough" or "man enough". im fine with people headcanoning chihiro as trans if they dont put it in people's faces and respect what other people say

@@tommynelson1616 yeah, it’s sad. luckily i have seen some people like that: who have their headcanon and just don’t care about of other people think otherwise because they know it’s just a headcanon

Like she’s not my *favorite* character, I like Kaede more, but she had an advantage, since everyone wanted the training trio to win. It was not much of a surprise she won ( I mean no offense by this, since I like Maki myself )

All fandoms have toxic fans, Twitter is like the platform where these toxic "fans" gather and literally hate on anything they don't like themselves.

hey, Mandy, I really like your videos, but to be honest, lately, those titles don't exactly attract me... like it's all "danganronpa fans/haters are upset/angry over this tweet/tiktok". I did watch all of those and like them, so, just imho i think it would be better to put something more specific in the video titles, for example, i would have never guessed this video was about danganronpa awards, but i am a person who is interested in the theme. anyways, that's just my thoughts, hope everyone who reads this has a great day!

yeah apologises for that. I discussed this in my problem with youtube video that having titles like these just do way better in terms of viewership or audience retention. As i explained in that video, i never used to do this and feel quite forced to have titles such as these but youtube is a platform that will constantly demotivate you and tell you how bad you are doing if a video underperforms. Again i do apologise but i have many new videos coming around later september that won't have these titles :)

As someone who has never had a twitter account, I feel like it's for the best sometimes... I legitimately can't think of the last time I heard someone positively talk about Twitter.
That being said, I think another form of voting for the awards would be super neat. Like instead of a winner-takes-all, 1v1 elimination style, they could try some sort of program that randomly pits who characters against each other, and the person votes against, say, fifty or so pairings. Once the voting period is complete, characters could be ranked based on what percentage of won pairings. Setting it up could be a hassle I'm sure, but it would be an awesome way to see how each character performs in a more general sense.

As someone who was updated to thing since somewhere in the beginning, from an outsider perspective it was pretty fun and to my surprise many kokichi fans were good losers, but it is no surprise that the Twitter dr fandom had to take everything too seriously, that’s sadly just the they fandom are

It is sad when non fans hate something that don't care about and sadder still when over the top die hard fans start rioting over something as small as a fun popularity contest because either their fav characters werent mentioned or lost. Frankly either balance needs to be found or multiple people need wake up calls.

at the end of the day, this is just a popular headcanon, not a fact, so calling people ‘transphobic’ for not voting for him is absolutely idiotic. even if he were to be canonically trans, it would still be stupid. not voting for him could simply mean they prefer the character he’s competing with.
