Get it done big bro!!! You’re so blessed to have a wife that will get into it with you and work on your VW I can’t find a good woman that knows what VW is LOL!!! But let’s goooo💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Wow mate that’s some proper carnage! 🤯 amazing the rod hanging out of the block looked untouched 😂! And the bearings look good also! You reckon if there was no over-revving the crank would be completely fine? Can’t wait to see where you go from here, I suppose finding a forged crank would be the main goal? Keep up for footage 👌👍
Yeah over revving caused everything, ive had flywheel bolts back out as well from that. I couldn’t get the clip to work but i did get an 18’ atlas motor that has a forged crank. Going to be using that for the remainder of the year
how did a NA build fail like that, a crank be that weak. esy to much damage for being a NA engine, using a VR6 seems like a nightmare, a 1.8t is probably both faster and wont break
2 different motors Stock 1.8t huck rods with a k04 cause they’re cast This version on the vr had a cast crank, and I’ve abused it. Seen 9k and 10k rpm My own fault it broke. I doubt one would fail in a street car

Love it when misfortunes are shared. 🎉 Makes me feel better about my own 😂
Wasn’t no hiding that lol crank went to another zip code
Hey man you're an inspiration. Can't wait to see that thing back up again....
Appreciate it, next few videos will have it ripping again
Pretty interesting, been waiting to see what happened with this. Glad it didn't take out the transmission.
Luckily i managed to save the valve springs and cams
Ill have the new engine video next week hopefully
Yeah man, love the build!
I have an Mk2 myself, but just a hobbyist. I eventually want to swap an 07k or 3.6 in it
Nothing sounds better than a vr, dont let the internet talk you into a 07k lol
The 3.6 are hard on the rockers to start with. High reving would stress them further.
I haven’t had any break with the supertech kit
About 20 valves bent when the crank broke
Every rocker that broke was one that the valve hit
hectic , gutted
New motor has another cast crank?
No i got a newer atlas motor with the forged crank
Ill never touch another cast crank engine for racing
@@SmithsEuro Nice
Blv or bws engine
Blv cast crank
