I miss these dumb meme runs. I totally agree about wanting a super broken patch for elden ring. Even though it’s a bad look for marketing it makes for some hilarious and interesting gaming.
The foreshadowing of him wishing for a broken elder ring patch just for the broken elden ring patch to be the zip glitch, arguably the most bs ridden frame perfect finicky monstrosity of a glitch in the entirety of the souls series that you have to do multiple times, consistently, with the run ending on two max distance first try perfect zips or a reset. Truly a monkeys paw moment
I respect distortions2, he is nuts. He just goes from speed game to speed game, spends 50+ hours a week mastering the movement mechanics down to a science, as well as near emulating a TAS for EVERY speedrun trick known to mankind (these took YEARS for all of mankind to come up with). Then distortions2 corrects the community!! He tells them what is even BETTER than the best strats all of humanity’s intelligence could generate over years, found by his superhuman brain in just days, if not hours. And they listen. They know they will never see another runner like distortions2 visit their speed game. He’s one of a kind magic. And then distortions2 uses those new strats his big brain invented and works his frickin ass off for another week. UNRELENTING. And I can guarantee this! What if he hates a trick he is bad at? Then how about 7 hours not leaving until he is the best there has ever been in the history of forever?! Done! And it then it all pays off with a MASSIVE World Record in just two weeks. The former world record holder applauds because he just witnessed awesomeness. And because he learned so much. And then distortions2 is onto the next game. And that is why I respect distortions2 so much.
I mean, yeah, I like him too. But I think you are slightly exaggerating on speedrun strats being the product of “all of mankind.” Even in the more popular categories, they are usually relatively small communities. Like take a look at the Bloodborne Speedrun Discord that has a total membership of about 6,500. So there are probably a little less than that running the categories. So he isn’t really beating out all of humanity. He is just beating out a small, highly-dedicated group. That being said, Dist is cool. He got a sub 1 hour Bloodborne run and then ate some chicken. That was pretty awesome.
I've heard Distortion also invented the gasoline engine and also the Covid vaccines and he also solved world hunger but """they""" didn't accept that so they stopped the product. He is also literally Jesus
I think maybe they include the glitches for this part of the community then patch it out later knowing full well that people can still use them by playing on a previous patch.
Old Patch , speedrunning while he did the Buckler glitch 1st try ?!... I honestly never seen it pulled off that easily for the major skip , specialy alongtime ago from Dist aswell... GG's yo thats crazy
Most are found by complete accident like for example zipping in elden ring was found by someone who was just waiting to be summoned by a friend and was playing around blocking and messing around then all of a sudden was just launched lol Then it only took a couple weeks and people were already trying to master it for speed runs.
It has order as in: You start with the first batch of bosses, progress through the world and then fight harder bosses. Repeat until you get to the final boss. But this speedrun category uses glitches to skip huge sections of the game to kill as many bosses in the opposite order that the devs intended.
I assume you’re talking about when he’s going super fast? It’s an old glitch called bino boosting only possible on vanilla DS2. I don’t know the exact nuances to execute it, but I believe you have to use the binoculars, roll, and possibly something else to get a temporary speed boost. I was never very good at it so idk if there’s more to it.

Maybe, there's a lot of keys and special conditions you have to meet to do certain bosses. You can fight the 4 kings as your 2nd boss, and for the other 3 lords you may have to do some dead angle camera shenanigans. Considering you can skip the Iron Golem, I think it's possible
Closest thing would most likely be: 1. Glitch asylum demon so you can come back to do him towards the end 2. Beat sif and four kings to have access to kaathe. 3. Sens gate skip to access anor londo early 4. Take out the slam jam brothers and take kaathe to place the vessel. 5. Work backwards from the big four or if you’re an absolute chad you can wrong warp to gwyn and kill the final boss as the 5th boss.
s it possible to wrong warp straight to gwyn without beating the 4 lord soul bosses? Or would he just not be there? Edit nevermind i just remembered killing gwyn sends you to ng+ automatically lol i hate that fact
It's bothering me so much that I dont know why youre parrying certain enemies unarmed then just leaving. What do you gain from that? I dont even play Dark Souls 2 and I must know.
It's a glitch, I'm not too knowledgeable how it works but it boils down to, you parry them roll over them (might also need an attack input simultaneously I don't know) and then you are out of bounds, that is why he can run through the air almost anywhere in the game. The unarmed part is to not deal too much damage when he accidentally actually attacks them.

It basically locks your z coordinate so you can't gain or lose height unless forced too by map geometry or by a few other things (getting staggered, jumping, falling over, parrying someone normally)
If you play on pc you can get mods that allow exactly that and much more and if your a gamer that requires this to play games i recommend playing on pc im pretty sure its extremely hard to find a game that doesn't have mods on pc sadly though xbox and playstation don't allow mods in almost all games and thats one of the biggest reasons pc gaming is objectively better You can also still use controller on pc.

Hmmm it always looked to me like ds3 was an improvement of ds1 and ds2 was just a completely different game and style And you can't deny that ds1 and 3 have much better gameplay and were actually made by miyazaki but ds2 was not the creator of the souls category had nothing to do with ds2 besides the fact that it was a sequel of his game and im positive that mistake (which by the way ds2 would have been much better if he was involved) is something he hasn't let happen since he has been involved in all the games made under his name since and don't get me wrong i like ds2 but its objectively just bad in comparison to what miyazaki would have created otherwise And if you need proof just look up his interviews where he answered questions about ds2.
