- Monday 7th October 2024 and the A421 is finally open, well sort off, the underpass is still closed so it's up and over the slip roads for now while they tidy their gear away.

Thank goodness for that. Been taking me an hour to go less than 3 miles.
Thank you. Sorry you got out of bed so early (!), but you have provided an incredibly useful social info service!
It's ok, it's just a bit of banter. I really enjoy doing it. Thanks for the comment.
@@ProjectUniversalUK Your banter has certainly kept us entertained over the past few days. I now even know what Project Universal UK is. 😂😂
As part of the pump station design there is a "well" under there that they are pumping from - so that needs clearing out. I also heard that they will need to check the bridge foundations as the ground was saturated for so long..
I don't think there will be an issue with the bridge or they wouldn't have let cars drive over it all that time.
Great work thank you and well done.
The A421 is a relatively new bypass and its flooding is a damning indictment of our at times poorly designed and constructed infrastructure.
I really like your videos, they’re relaxing somehow. Please never stop 😁 I can’t wait for some Universal construction videos. Greetings from Poland
Relaxing? Wow that's a first! Nice to have you here.
I thought the road had reopened ‘cos there was no gridlock this morning where I live in Elstow!!
The vacuum tankers are still there to drain the sump under the pumping station.
Thanks!
WOW!! Thank you, that's very kind.
It was backing up bad around 7:30am on lead up to Marston junction going towards Milton Keynes
The tankers take about 30 tons of water.
thank you mate. 👍
No problem 👍
Woohoo! 🎉
Do we know the reason for the flooding, was it a drainage pump failure or blockage?
Don't know yet
Thanks for all your vids re this A421 debacle.
Was it the failure of the pumping station beside the bridge that caused the problem?
This problem has caused me a massive diversion from my normal route when travelling from Chipping Norton to Suffolk, by having to go up the Fosse Way to Rugby, then M6, A14, Huntingdon. Not only was the A421 closed but the A422 just north Of Milton Keynes too.
I’m pleased that I shall be able to go back on my normal A421 route again.
……….Though the next problem is the A14/A1 Black Cat roundabout!
Yer, Black Cat is a nightmare but Iim not going there! It was an issue with the pump that caused it to fail.
Can you send a link for the drone mate
This one is a Mini 4 pro
Why they couldn't open the slipways ages ago we will never know
They was under water
