Thank goodness for that. Been taking me an hour to go less than 3 miles.

As part of the pump station design there is a "well" under there that they are pumping from - so that needs clearing out. I also heard that they will need to check the bridge foundations as the ground was saturated for so long..

I don't think there will be an issue with the bridge or they wouldn't have let cars drive over it all that time.

Great work thank you and well done.
The A421 is a relatively new bypass and its flooding is a damning indictment of our at times poorly designed and constructed infrastructure.

It's ok, it's just a bit of banter. I really enjoy doing it. Thanks for the comment.

Early? It fricking 7am. Most of the country is up and on their way to work. I’ve never heard so much privileged twaddle in my life.

The vacuum tankers are still there to drain the sump under the pumping station.

Thanks for all your vids re this A421 debacle.
Was it the failure of the pumping station beside the bridge that caused the problem?
This problem has caused me a massive diversion from my normal route when travelling from Chipping Norton to Suffolk, by having to go up the Fosse Way to Rugby, then M6, A14, Huntingdon. Not only was the A421 closed but the A422 just north Of Milton Keynes too.
I’m pleased that I shall be able to go back on my normal A421 route again.
……….Though the next problem is the A14/A1 Black Cat roundabout!

Yer, Black Cat is a nightmare but Iim not going there! It was an issue with the pump that caused it to fail.

Do we know the reason for the flooding, was it a drainage pump failure or blockage?
