This movie has been obsoleted by tasvideos.org/4.... TAS originally published on 2007-04-19.
Rather than being able to explore the world freely and sequence break to her heart's content, Samus is at the mercy of a computer's will. As a result this game is very linear with virtually no chance to collect items out of order.
The in-game completion time is 0:40 and no unnecessary items are collected (0%).

Ah, nostalgia. This game was a fucking masterpiece. I can't count how many times I've played through Fusion and Zero Mission, and neither ever gets old.

Metroid Fusion offered a rare glimpse into Samus's heart and soul.
Unlike some Other M I could mention, being able to hear from Samus directly is a really nice touch from the game. She is now more careful and afraid after the encounter with the X. Even in Dread just seeing her eyes is better characterization than Other M. There is also a chance into Samus person in Dread, but in not going to spoil it

Double missiles are so satisfying in a casual playthrough.
Oh man, 3:45 of unskippable cutscene. I don't miss that at all. That aside, this was the game that got me into Metroid, and I'll love it forever.

Anyone know the reason for the pause at 18:08? And why the door opened at 31:14?
I guess the pause would have been to manipulate the Zazabi fight.
The door at 31:14 must have been opened by sa-x firing its weapon but the game glitched and therefore didn't show the ice beam hit the door because prior to the door opening you hear the sa-x fire its weapon
Starting at 26:49 there is an inhuman operation to skip a must-get missile tank, to make it 0% achievement. Masterpiece!

All the nuanced little ways he fucks around are great.
Like putting down a morph-ball bomb when he gets the power bomb, or mimicking the SA-X when it destroys the metroid breeding center.

Why did i feel like samus charge shots were stronger or the enemies weaker ? Alot of the bosses and enemies took very few shots
Afternoon Delight
In Fusion, if you release a charged shot, you can see a small burst coming from her cannon, if you hit enemies with it, you deal extra damage. Also when hit it, you can see a flash/spark.
To put things in another case... Although which value I have associated might be incorrect... the charge beam alone does 20 damage off a charge shot, but the flare (burst) that's right next to the arm cannon does an additional 6, I think? I might have the two mixed up, but it does mean that these movements to hit the enemy with the flare do add up extremely quickly for damage.

I think a "0%" run would be harder for me than an "Any%" or a "100% run". Skipping items during a video game just doesn't feel natural, somehow. I had the same problem with skipping finding Zero's parts in Mega Man X2, or finding Zero himself in Mega Man X6. (Google those games, you'll know what I'm talking about) It would take a stronger player than me to do a run like that. My opinion...

How is killing the enemies possible with so few hits? The SA-X was killed with like 3 shots, while when I play I have to hit him like 16 times.

@@charmanderfan1 depends on how u look at it I don’t really remember but I think I got a run completed in an hour and 17 min but I sucked at speed running. I just played the game non stop so I knew exactly where to go the whole time

This game would be nicer without that much of talking. It would add a much more creepier atmosphere. And without marking your goals. When the game would let you figure out by yourself, where to go.

Creatotron Spidey Widey did with the old BOB skip, but with the glitch that was discovered last year, it's a lot more reasonable to do the skip in real time
A 0% run without TAS is very much possible but with damage variables from certain bosses would make even skilled players want to slow down so they don't get OHKO'd
