- So we like to share what goes on here.
Often we here the story of a customer getting charged a crazy amount for something fairly basic. This customer had been charged $1000 for a starter and a very high quote for an oil leak.
We made time to bring in this S2000 to fix it. We decided to give the engine bay some extra LHT TLC attention and really show the customer we care. It also allows us to check for future leaks when everything is clean.
Check out the LHT Performance Store

John, pls make the video about cleaning engine bay no matter what. It looks amazing
I have no idea how LHT isn’t more popular, these guys are legit.
We need that engine bay cleaning video
The engine bay look's amazing dude
Yeah, definitely gonna need that engine bay tutorial! And honestly, id love to buy a wrinkle black valve cover if that ever becomes available.
You guys did an amazing job cleaning that engine bay! And you only charged $150 to repair the problems she came in for?!?!?! LHT TLC is real and I really appreciate the care you guys take for customers cars. Keep on doing all that you do!
Thanks buddy. We charged 1 hour, plus seals and cleaning supplies. The extra TLC is something we like to do
@@LHTPerformance I know for sure! Not sure you guys will recall, but last year, I stopped by with the 2nd unicorn that bought in Florida to drive it back to Ohio! You guys did an exhaust swap for me , even though I was unannounced! You guys are amazingly accommodating and really care about these cars! Thanks again!
@@remerson1 Yes, I remember. Awesome, thanks for the kind words.
I’d pay $150 just for the wash and engine bay cleaning ! Nobody here in Ca cares about the cars like you guys ! Amazing to see nowadays :)
Watching LHT...The best way to start your weekend after a busy week, and then my OCD kicked in because John purposely tease us and left the washer fluid cap open before and after the wash ... :P
You guys are a rare breed of mechanics and I’m a huge fan. It’s great to see others who really care.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
That’s insanely high... they callem a Stealership for a reason... Engine bay turned out great!!
I haven't owned a honda for at least 20yrs..and still find 90% of LHT videos interesting. Thankyou.
Thanks. It’s not about being a Honda guy, it’s about being a car guy.
Excellent Job as usual whether its Custom Fab or simple TLC and more 8th gen content PLEASE....
There’s an 8th gen video coming up soon.
Would love to see a step by step video on how you guys ( clean & detail ) the S2000 engine bay ! Thanks
Top job as ever fellas. 😁
Very nice engine bay, I'd love to know how to clean the black stuff off the ground terminals safely (not visible on the black car) Hey don't forget to add washer fluid and close the cap! Edit: Answering my own question, the 3 TCT gaskets needed are 14512-PCX-005, 14513-PCX-005, and 14514-PCX-005
I'd pay $150 for someone to detail my engine bay that good lol. You guys are awesome.
Are you local ? I have an idea 🤔
@@LHTPerformance No I'm in HTX! When I go forced induction though I think I'll be paying you a visit. Your videos have been invaluable for me. Appreciate the swag with my recent order btw! Wearing the shirt right now ironically enough.
@@Rippers-TV Thanks buddy. If you book with us, remind me and we’ll detail your engine bay for. I charge and use it for content.
Mercy! These LHT guys and gal are upstanding citizens!
That's exactly why I haven't yet found a place to take my car to when I dont have the tool nor the knowledge to perform repairs on my own vehicles.
That stuff goes as little as using oem oil/oil filter from the same dealership...each I go, it is never the same price and that really bother me. I know they are not entitled to sell at cheaper price or whatnot, ut if you're gonna charge me more, at least be consistent and keep it like that so I don't get disappointed.
Anyways, it's too sad how people are nowday. Wish they were more like you.
Good job guys!
Would love a video on how to clean the bay and what parts to cover. Will be much appreciated! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👍
You guys are top notch.
You're right in that bad aspirin with honda dealer it about the money 😳
Dealerships this days !!! :( great job guys we all waiting for that engine bay tutorial !
Did anyone else catch the SI w/ jewel eye headlights? 🧐 soo good looking!
world class service right there!
I wish you guys showed a clip of how to install OEM side strakes 😊
We might just do that. Jeff has a set for his S2000 , I don’t like to drill the car when installing them.
@@LHTPerformance I agree. I wouldn't mind drilling underneath the car but the side is a no go. I would just rely on the tape lol
John: Now you know why I used to clean the exhaust you built for my white S2K. Attention to detail. I knew when we originally met, your meticulous and you care. Also why your LHT license frame is on the Scat Pack direct from that S2k. She WILL be back with that black S2K. 👍
I see he’s got the jewel eye headlights on the 8th gen Mugen. Nice
Great work John!!
That was an amazing clean up!
Literally looks like it drove off the showroom floor. Wow!
In 🇨🇦 we appreciate you looking out for us John! Once our border opens and things calm down I’ll be ordering stuff for sure! Also, why ARE you in Esthers car??🤔🤔🤣😂🤣
Please make a video teaching us how to clean the engine bay!
Still waiting on that engine bay cleaning tutorial haha
Please make the cleaner video 🙏 and for $150 to get that service??? When i get my s2000 100% ill make the drive to Florida!
Didn’t know you should close the hood like that thanks
If you don’t want to potentially dent the aluminum hood or put finger marks on the paint. 👍🏻
You guys are awesome! Love the videos!
wish i could take my s2k to you guys need that engine bay clean up but im in australia :,( that video would be nice
Maybe , Depends on how much positive vibes we get. Lol.
Nice job keep doing what ya like
great job, as always.
Love the LHT TLC.
Great video again!!!
Regarding the first o-ring shown (2:52), did you remove the center cam bolt completely? I have a leak there also, but wasn’t sure on removing it to change the o-ring assuming it’s holding the center cam.
Don't curb my wheels and I won't curb yours. -John2021 🤣🤣🤣
My order was 10126 missed it by 1
Sorry, we’re doing it every 25 orders 👍🏻
George got new wheels on his Si?
Notification squad, represent.
Can you guys recommend an specialist in s2000 s here in UK ? Cheers
Last time I was in the UK was 1993, there wasn’t such things as an S2000. Lol.
@@LHTPerformance hahahaha I’ve got recently a 2009 really nice condition with 40 k on the clock, but I’m a bit sceptical with dealerships today! Guess no option keep it going with great vids learning a lot mate
@@porteuni The 2 problems we’ve found with the dealership is : 1, the actual tech working on your car is limited on time that the ‘book’ says, they are only allow X amount of time to perform a job. Even the tech that really cares doesn’t get paid to do anymore that the book says. It’s sucks, but it’s why dealerships are huge, but need to turn a profit no matter what. There’s no freebies.
2, Most dealership don’t see S2000s, they maybe see 4-5 a year. It’s not a car most of the techs work on much. Find a little specialty shop and find a guy that really cares. There out there.
@@LHTPerformance good advice mate ! I can only do the basics , I wouldn’t touch valves, retainers etc. The only thing it’s that car was owned by Honda the last 3 years as part of heritage collection so I’m guessing mechanically should be in mint condition. Cheers mate
Come on John, you let Esther buy a Nissan CVT? haha
She had the last one for 60k miles with no issues and loved it.
@@LHTPerformance Hope she has the same luck with this one! I've just heard some horror stories from friends.
@@MrSchn3ll I’ll be sure to tell her. She’s still excited with it so I’ll give it a couple of days to give her the bad news. Maybe we’ll do some neutral drops when she doesn’t know.
I hope you charged the customer for putting gas in their car. 😊
You kidding, UA-cam people expect we do that for free. Lol.
@@LHTPerformance You mean that isnt part of the LHT TLC?! 😂😉
@@fraserp8930 Acording some 🤣🤣🤣
Hello i clicked the like button 50.000 times....
Lol. Thanks
LHT !!!
better sell that nissan before the CVT takes a crap
The first one had 60k with no issues. They have made improvements to the newer ones.
1k for a starter from the stealership
for reals. straight robbery
I know, I don’t know where that price comes from. We charge $395 for a brand new OEM Starter installed. It’s not that hard.
@@LHTPerformance brand new or reman?
@@Chorizomicks See the post above 😐
$1000 they straight took advantage of her.
A gallon of WD-40, that's how it's done.
Wd40 and few paint brushes ... seems about right 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Lol. No need to do a how to video now 🤣
Hand on face, so pricey
I won't say the brand of the dealer that I went to, they wanted $1k to change a hundred dollar part that's easy to change. That happened 15 years ago.
So It's not a surprise that...recently she payed 1G.

My S2000 engine bay is immaculate but I would love to know your procedure because my Element engine bay is a disaster lol
Autodrive takes some getting used to
It makes you feel sea sick. The smart cruise is amazing and the HD cameras are great.
John, pls make the video about cleaning engine bay no matter what. It looks amazing
